  • Brooke Smith Fired From Grey's Anatomy (11/4/2008)

Yikes! I did not like Erica and Callie together for sure, I agree there was no chemestry. But I did enjoy the bitchy drama that Erica brought to the show. I feel sorry for Brooke Smith to be blind sided like that. What's this about TR no being believable as a hetro chatacter??? I think he is great. I never knew he was gay until the press blew up that story with IW running his mouth. Even still, he does a great job. Where can we vote on this? :)
  • The Writer's Perspective: "Life During Wartime" (11/3/2008)

I personally hate the Callie/Erica story line. And it is so predictable at this point. Callie questions if she really wants to do this....they make it look like she's going to end it...she decides to stay with Erica. I can not stand Erica! I'm ready for everyone to forgive Isaiah and bring back Burke. :) Wait...Is that why we have all the homosexual story lines now? Is this the Grey's Anatomy "Sorry" to the gay/lesbian community. :)

Its all good xdrmeredithgrey. :) Any one who knows me knows I in no way want to be offensive to others. Unless its my terrible use of the F word. I am a bit of a potty mouth in real life. But I don't mean to offend others though :)

It is crazy to just fire Brooke. I mean, if she was fired because of the Lesbian angle of her character, why not fire Sara too? I'm glad they didn't...I'm just saying. I was never a fan of Erica, hated her even, but now that I know she's leaving I will miss her being mean to everyone :) I'll miss that dynamic. She was trying to be good teacher! :) And I feel really bad for Brooke as an actress. If ABC didn't like the lesbian sex stuff why couldn't they just cut that? But leave Brooke on. You would just have Erica and Callie, a lesbian couple. So what. But that's why I can't help but wonder if there was more to Brooke's firing on a personal level between Brooke and ABC, not ABC's problem with the Erica storyline. I don't know. Maybe not. Not if they've gotten rid of other characters on other shows.

But it was getting graphic. I mean Callie basically dropped her pants and asked Sloan to teach her how to eat out another chic. Although I did love his line about teaching her the Sloan method. ha ha. But on any level (gay or straight) that is kinda graphic for prime time. Even if it was Mer asking someone to teach her how to.... ah you get the idea. But I must say the writer's humorous spin on those conversations and the actor/actresses portrayal in those scenes were comical and well done. But evidentally still too much for ABC.

Is it possible that there is something more here? Something we the viewers know nothing about? It's just crazy to think ABC would demand Brooke be fired just because the writers wrote a story arc that led to her being a lesbian. Seems like they would just encourage the writers to drop that story line. I can't help but wonder if there was something behind the scenes, a fight or something that has happened that we the viewers know nothing about. Maybe Shonda and the other higher ups did not want this "fight/issue" to be the ruin of Brooke as the IW/TR fight was the ruin of IW. I don't know. Just my 2 cents. It just seems so out of the blue.

Something else....in light of this posted today...

some of the gay-themed story lines are being downplayed - and even erased from upcoming Grey's Anatomy scripts.

I am not in the minority with my opinion of enough with the gay stuff already.
