Hi everyone, I read the fan petition on the home page and can't help but think MerDer fans now share the same feelings we had when our favorite couple was dismantled. I believe a lot of Burktina fans have already stopped watching the show so we won't hear their reaction to the petition. Here's an article about GA season 4 in genenal which has nice comments about IW and SO. IW was a "weighty presence on an often frothy show, and losing an original character was a blow. The departure of Burke has given Cristina less to do this year, a problem since Sandra Oh is one of the better actors in the cast." http://www.film.com/dvds/story/greysanatomyexaminingthepatient/13982602/17981732

Bordeaux - You're welcomed. Here's the link to the entire PD interview - http://www.star-ecentral.com/news/story.asp?file=/2007/12/3/movies/19579365&sec=movies I always felt ABC/Touchstone could have handled the situation better. They could take a lesson in crisis management and basic PR. Sweeping the matter under the rug caused internal bickering and allowed the media to have a field day. I also wish IW could return because his character was so important to the show and he was a large contributor to GA's success.

Hi everyone, I've read a lot of your posts and am glad to be in the company of avid IW/SO fans. I want to add to Bayfront's article on SO with an interview from PD. It backs Peter Horton's assertion that the IW matter should have been handled differently (see Gloria's post a few pages back). I think over time, people will realize several individuals were accountable for how the entire situation played out. Sadly for us, IW is no longer on the show. Here a portion of the PD interview: Keeping it real By ELIZABETH TAI Perhaps his outlook is affected by the drama in his life, one of the most notable episodes being the physical altercation he had with former Grey’s Anatomy co-star Isaiah Washington October last year. “I think there was a real lack of leadership from the producers. People were lashing out unnecessarily. It became out of control. It’s just tragic,” he said, his expression carefully neutral.
