"In my opinion, she also does a great job of self promotion."
Standing up for one's friends is NOT self-promotion. I happen to admire her for speaking up about the gay-slur issue.
Another thing, actors do not get interviewed in talk shows if they aren't doing publicity for something. They can't just wake up one day and decide to appear on Letterman because they feel like it.
Katherine has been in a lot of talk shows recently but that's for the show's publicity and the Pedigree Adoption Drive in N.Y. (she was the spokesperson). She was there to promote her charity. How can you not admire that?

gorgeous woman! i love katherine heigl in a non-gay kind of way (not that there's anything wrong with that). i seem to be having a girl-crush on her ever since i met her on the street in N.Y. a few weeks ago. she was so beautiful and so nice. it wasn't just a friendly hello and then away. she actually took the time to talk to us fans despite the fact that i was embarrrassingly over-excited to meet her. now how many actresses would actually waste valuable minutes to speak to fans on the street?
i don't smoke myself but i have no objection to people who do. so what if she smokes? it's her right. like Amanda said previously, this is a free country. give the girl a break, people.

there was nothing in the people.com report that says it was katherine's people who leaked the story. touchstone's statement also never denied putting it in the press. the article only credited the report to a "well-placed source". how reliable is that?
remember patrick dempsey's renegotiation just a few months ago? it also caused quite a stir then. notice any similarity? it may be touchstone who leaked both negotiations to gain some media leverage ("let's make the actress look greedy so we can keep giving her crappy pay").
we are all just reacting to media reports. we may never know what happened and who leaked the story so i think we should just stop being so judgemental of the girl and get on with our lives.

i'm beginning to think this piece of news that may not have been true. people.com had put this item out yesterday and then retracted it the very next day. i mean, seriously! couldn’t they have confirmed the rumor first before putting it on their website? this is not the first time reporters have passed a rumor off as true and i’m sure it won’t be the last. i have really learned a lesson from this one.

hey guys! i just read from people.com that katie heigl is leaving the show. here's the full article:
"Katherine Heigl has dropped out of contract talks with Grey's Anatomy over salary, a well-placed source tells PEOPLE.
"Katie is disappointed and hurt that (producer) Touchstone doesn't value her as much as her other costars, especially Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington," the source says.
Heigl plays Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevenson on the ABC hit medical drama.
A rep for ABC Touchstone TV had no comment."
omg! if this is true, i think they are making a huge mistake. izzie is my favorite character in grey's. she's the funniest although they haven't been giving her the laughs she deserves lately. the show would not be the same without her. seriously!

my favorite is Swans by Unkle Bob from from episode 317 - "Some Kind of Miracle".
it is the song that's playing in the last shot when denny feels izzie in the hallway. the scene is both beautiful and bittersweet. the song perfectly complements it.
