Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Latest on Calzona

What's the latest with Arizona and Callie? Are we going to see them becoming more, um, intimate this season? Is the fact that we haven't yet a sign of trouble?

Here's TV Guide's take on that subject in its spoiler Q&A this week ...

Q: Are Callie and Arizona going to make it on Grey's Anatomy this season? They are great, butdon't seem as intimate as Callie was with Dr. Hahn (Brooke Smith).

A: Just because we haven't seen Callzona's sexy time on-screen, there's no reason to believe the ladies have intimacy issues. "I'm sure they've done it. I mean, come on!" Sara Ramirez said.

Seattle Grace's gorgeous lesbian couple at Izzie's May wedding.

Ramirez does, however, see potential speed bumps ahead. "They will deal with some very universal relationship-type issues," she says. "I'm kind of nervous for Callie."

"She's never been this happy for so long. Something's going to happen."

Sarah Drew Previews Character, Grey's Anatomy Role

Despite what last week's Grey's Anatomy episode may have led you to believe as the credits rolled, Izzie Stevens and Katherine Heigl are not leaving Seattle Grace for good.

Heigl's hiatus is temporary, though that doesn't mean the next few weeks are going to be less painful for her husband Alex (Justin Chambers) or the rest of the SGH gang.

Not only are the wounds from George O'Malley's death still fresh, but we get the feeling that the ambitious new kids are going to be fighting tooth and nail to fill Izzie's void.

Asked if the new docs are going to continue moving in on her turf, new guest star Sarah Drew said, "I think that may come out of it, but I have to be a little cagey with that."

Sarah also revealed that her character, Dr. April Kepner, is going to cut back on the nasty, needy All About Eve routine. According to Sarah, "Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) apology that happened at the end of the last episode definitely carries through.

"There isn't as much animosity in the rest [in the rest of the episodes]."

Sarah Drew Picture

Sarah Drew made her Grey's Anatomy debut last week.

That doesn't mean she's not still desperate to secure herself a permanent position at Seattle Grace: "April is a very, very good doctor. She really knows what she's doing, she's worked really hard, and she certainly wants to do her best and stick around."

So, could that actually happen? Could any of the new kids become a permanent fixture on Grey's Anatomy? Sarah isn't allowed to reveal how many episodes she's signed to do, but she would definitely be interested in staying if given the opportunity.

"I Saw What I Saw" Promo #2

Below is a slightly different promo for Thursday's Grey's Anatomy, "I Saw What I Saw." Basically the same concept, but with a few different snippets and a tad longer. Twelve different doctors, twelve different versions of events. Who's to blame? What will the consequences be?

Coming Soon: A Grey's Anatomy Holiday Bonanza

Grey’s Anatomy will bid farewell to 2009 later this season when the Seattle Grace staff celebrates Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s - all in one very special installment.

“We’re pretty excited,” show creator Shonda Rhimes tells TV Guide of the big Grey's Anatomy event. “We’ll be watching time pass as we take the audience into the new year.”

Sadly, this isn't to say all the news is warm, fuzzy and joyous.

From the sound of it, the Season Six drama shifts away from medical and professional drama and focuses instead on characters’ personal hopes, dreams and disappointments.

Over the holidays, “people feel like something magical or momentous should happen,” Rhimes explains, but certainly speaks the truth when she says “But often nothing does.”

Doctor Bailey

Among other story lines, we'll be seeing how Bailey became Bailey.

In the episode, we will meet Miranda Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) mother, whom Rhimes describes as “more Bailey than Bailey. You’ll finally see where Bailey gets her stuff.”

In between unwrapping gifts, Mark and Lexie’s happiness will be rocked by the arrival of a character from his past who Rhimes says will cause them “to fall on hard times.”

Meanwhile, over on Grey’s Anatomy's sister show, Private Practice, Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) will be getting a surprise visit from her dad, whom she calls “The Captain.”

He's played by Stephen Collins, while her mom, Bizzy, will be played by JoBeth Williams.

Over a three-episode arc, kicking off in mid-November, Rhimes says Addison will finally get to the bottom of some more of the redhead's “shocking family secrets.”

Well, it is the holidays, right?

Two More Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice Crossovers to Come?

Was Chandra Wilson's awesome stint on Private Practice just the first of several such crossovers to come this season on Shonda Rhimes' sister shows? Here's E!'s latest ...

Q: I loved last week's Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover with Bailey! She killed it. Is there anything good you can share on Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice?

A: I'm told by insiders that there should be at least two more crossovers before the season is through, though they have yet to hammer out specific details.

Who do you think should do the crossing honors?

As for one particular rumor going around - that there will be an upcoming plot involving for Justin Walker (Dave Annable) of Brothers & Sisters to cross over to Private Practice (Justin is now in medical school), a rep at ABC says that's actually not happening.

Aww. Too bad. But there are other good options.

Below are some photos from this Thursday's episode, "I Saw What I Saw."

After a burn victim unexpectedly dies in a chaotic ER, the Chief and his board members are forced to interrogate each individual resident to find the culprit. In turn, the residents, new and old, are forced to defend their actions in an effort to save their jobs.

Naturally, this should lead to even more tension among the Seattle Gracers and Mercy Westers as the melting pot that is Grey's Anatomy continues to be shaped before our eyes.

Grey's Anatomy Promo: "I Saw What I Saw"

What did YOU see?

No, we're not talking about the tagline for ABC's FlashForward. That's what the doctors of Seattle Grace will be asked at great length next week, with more versions of events regarding what happened to a patient than the Chief will be pleased to hear.

Here's the first promo for "I Saw What I Saw." Looks like plenty of tension in the air, like last night if not worse. Let us know what you think will happen on this episode ...

Let Me At

Izzie: You mess with me, you get the whole trailer park. Willy Wonka won't save you either. Back to loompa land evil spawn!

[Reed continues to smile as we are all aware that oompa loompas are small, dim-witted creatures only concerned with candy and their abnormal orange-ness]

Joel Grey to Guest Star on Grey's Anatomy as Izzie's Teacher

Izzie Stevens was fired last night on "Invasion."

But she will be back on Grey's Anatomy at some point next month.

We know this because the (appropriately named) veteran actor Joel Grey, 77, will appear in a November episode as a blast from Izzie’s past - her old high school teacher.

“It’s a pretty amazing episode,” says show creator Shonda Rhimes.

“It turns out he was the teacher who convinced Izzie (Katherine Heigl) she was more than just another girl from the trailer park. And now he’s in need of her help.”

Joel Grey Picture

What role will Izzie's former mentor have on her future?

This will be Heigl's only episode in November sweeps, as she is off shooting a movie. Her character's firing last night cleared the way for her to miss five episodes.

Rhimes is also considering bringing back Sharon Lawrence as Izzie’s mama, Robbie Stevens, who was last seen at the end of Season 5 at her ailing daughter’s bedside.

“We love Sharon,” Rhimes says.

Grey's Anatomy Episode Guide: "Invasion"

Last night's Grey's Anatomy saw the world of Seattle Grace as we know it turned on its head. The Mercy Westers descended, wreaked havoc and one of our own got fired.

How long will Izzie Stevens be gone? Did she really leave Alex? These questions remain up in the air for now in the wake of her abrupt departure at the end of the episode.

Lexie, Alex and Cristina each did whatever they could to upstage their new Mercy West counterparts, with largely failed results. Our people are looking dazed and confused.

Elsewhere, Callie's dad returned to convert her, but he was the one who saw the light. Bailey's patient was almost killed by Izzie, driving her to L.A. and Private Practice.

For the full rundown of events last night, here's our recap of "Invasion."

Richard and Isobel

Richard lets Izzie go. She does not take the news well.

Within the episode main page you can find links to Grey's Anatomy quotes, music, photos and videos, which we're working on compiling. These are available for all episodes!
