Grey's Anatomy Episode Guide: "I Saw What I Saw"

Thursday night's episode of Grey's Anatomy saw 12 doctors saying they saw 12 different things in a scene reminiscent of ER. But it was one mistake early on that led to a fatal chain of events for a patient and landed a doctor out on the street in search of a new job.

April blew it. A routine check of a patient's throat would have revealed unhealthy carbon monoxide levels early and saved her, but the room was chaotic and she dropped the ball.

Still, it was just a mistake, and as Derek said, perhaps the blame should be placed on the man who can't get the hospital under control or on the same page. Harsh, but true.

For the complete rundown of the episode, which employed a very different story-telling method than any we've seen so far, check out our episode recap of "I Saw What I Saw."

Within the episode main page you will see links to Grey's Anatomy quotes, music, photos and videos, which we're working on compiling. These are available for every episode!

Inexcusable

In charge of revamping Seattle Grace and merging Mercy West with it, Chief Richard Webber wants answers. The problem is he's getting too many - and he's not looking in the mirror.

Private Practice Episode Recap: "Pushing the Limits"

While last night's episode of Grey's Anatomy provided an entirely different tone, feel and narrative structure than we're used to, Private Practice was true to form.

The doctors of Oceanside Wellness (and Pacific Wellcare) struggled with patients who tugged at their heartstrings - and in some cases, hit a little close to home.

This was especially true in the case of Violet, who had to counsel a couple struggling with the rape of a woman - and an unplanned pregnancy that resulted from it.

Meanwhile, Addison treated a homeless teen and her two-year-old son, and she and Sam helped her reunite with her own mother, with whom she was estranged.

Elsewhere, Sheldon tried to lay down rules, Charlotte threw herself into home renovations and ended up with a new position, and Dell even made an appearance!

"I Saw What I Saw": What Did You Think?

When the Mercy West doctors descended on Seattle Grace in last week's "Invasion," there was no love lost between our old standbys and their job-hungry competitors.

What we saw then paled in comparison to this evening, though.

In a chaotic ER scene, disaster strikes and there is plenty of blame to go around, compounding the already-rising tension in a turbulent environment. At times, it got ugly.

The truth came out eventually, and someone dearly paid the price.

Did you see that turn of events coming, or were you surprised?

What did you think of tonight's Grey's Anatomy in general?

Getting to Know Dr. Charles Denman

Now that Mercy West's doctors have invaded and turned Grey's Anatomy upside down, they're staking their territory, which may include some new, intriguing relationships.

Dr. Charles Denman (Robert Baker) is at the center of the drama.

The new guest star opened up to TV Guide this week about what it's like to become the new worst enemy of the fans of one of TV's most popular shows in just one week.

He also discusses which Seattle Gracers will cross over to the dark side, how Thursday's episode unfolds and what Izzie (Katherine Heigl) will pursue when she returns ...

Q: Everyone hates the Mercy Westers. How does that feel?

Robert Baker: I've never been so hated in my life, but I think that it's the way [fans] should feel. We came on to the show and started wreaking havoc. I'm not like Charles in my everyday life. If I step on an ant, I go into mourning over it.

I don't want to ruffle any feathers in real life, so to go up there and do it is actually a blast. The show needs a bad guy. You can't have good drama without [one].

Robert Baker

Q: Do any of them have any redeemable qualities? Will fans grow to like them?

Robert Baker: Yeah, people are going to start seeing that when it comes to doing our jobs, we definitely come through for them. I think it's going to take a while for people to be won over by any one of the Mercy Westers in particular.

It's going to be difficult in future episodes for them.

Q: Charles pretty much got Izzie fired. Will everyone in the hospital be upset with him?

Robert Baker: Certain people, definitely. I'm sure you can guess which people will be angrier than others about Izzie departing - not everyone though. They're not happy because she's gone; they're just not mad at [Charles] for what happened to her.

Q: Are Alex (Justin Chambers) and Charles going to come to blows?

Robert Baker: It's funny, this Thursday, Alex and I do have some stuff together. You will see his dislike for me. We don't quite come to blows because that wouldn't be a very fair fight, first of all. Clearly I'm the biggest person to ever set foot on that set.

Basically, it's a little more passive-aggressive what goes on between he and I. He has me under his thumb a little bit and takes advantage of it.

Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Izzie, the Chief and a New Firing

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly fields several Grey's Anatomy questions this morning in his weekly spoiler Q&A. Will we hear from Izzie? Is the Chief in trouble?

Let's find out what he has to say about this evening's episode and more ...

Q: You were right: I was crying during the final scene of last week’s Grey’s Anatomy. My heart broke for Alex. Please tell me you have some good news about him.

A: Alex does make contact with Izzie this week. That’s the good news. Here’s the bad: It doesn't look like she is coming out of hiding anytime soon.

Q: I’m a huge Kim Raver fan and I’m thrilled that she is joining the Grey’s Anatomy cast. Could you give us some scoop on her character?

A: She’s basically Cristina’s worst nightmare: a heart specialist who used to play doctor with Owen. That’s right, Owen’s ex is going to be Cristina’s (potential) mentor! Cue the dramaz!

Q: I have a feeling the Chief will get axed on Grey’s Anatomy.

A: A word of advice: You’d make a terrible psychic. The Chief is not the one who gets fired. BTW, unlike Izzie, the doc getting pink-slipped this week won’t be back.

Who do you think that might be?

Three Sneak Previews: "I Saw What I Saw"

The title of tomorrow night's Grey's Anatomy episode, "I Saw What I Saw," tells you a lot about what's going on, as the doctors all have their own account of an ER debacle.

This doesn't exactly help the brewing tension between the Mercy Westers and our Seattle Grace favorites. A little healthy competition is one thing, but this is out of control.

As the doctors fight to save their jobs and convince themselves they aren't to blame, one of the newcomers pushes Alex a little too far with a snide comment, and ...

Follow the jump for two more clips, in which Lexie and others are grilled by the chief, and Alex is dissed by two of his competitors. Watch, enjoy, and comment below ...

Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Latest on Calzona

What's the latest with Arizona and Callie? Are we going to see them becoming more, um, intimate this season? Is the fact that we haven't yet a sign of trouble?

Here's TV Guide's take on that subject in its spoiler Q&A this week ...

Q: Are Callie and Arizona going to make it on Grey's Anatomy this season? They are great, butdon't seem as intimate as Callie was with Dr. Hahn (Brooke Smith).

A: Just because we haven't seen Callzona's sexy time on-screen, there's no reason to believe the ladies have intimacy issues. "I'm sure they've done it. I mean, come on!" Sara Ramirez said.

Callie and Arizona Kiss

Seattle Grace's gorgeous lesbian couple at Izzie's May wedding.

Ramirez does, however, see potential speed bumps ahead. "They will deal with some very universal relationship-type issues," she says. "I'm kind of nervous for Callie."

"She's never been this happy for so long. Something's going to happen."

Sarah Drew Previews Character, Grey's Anatomy Role

Despite what last week's Grey's Anatomy episode may have led you to believe as the credits rolled, Izzie Stevens and Katherine Heigl are not leaving Seattle Grace for good.

Heigl's hiatus is temporary, though that doesn't mean the next few weeks are going to be less painful for her husband Alex (Justin Chambers) or the rest of the SGH gang.

Not only are the wounds from George O'Malley's death still fresh, but we get the feeling that the ambitious new kids are going to be fighting tooth and nail to fill Izzie's void.

Asked if the new docs are going to continue moving in on her turf, new guest star Sarah Drew said, "I think that may come out of it, but I have to be a little cagey with that."

Sarah also revealed that her character, Dr. April Kepner, is going to cut back on the nasty, needy All About Eve routine. According to Sarah, "Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) apology that happened at the end of the last episode definitely carries through.

"There isn't as much animosity in the rest [in the rest of the episodes]."

Sarah Drew Picture

Sarah Drew made her Grey's Anatomy debut last week.

That doesn't mean she's not still desperate to secure herself a permanent position at Seattle Grace: "April is a very, very good doctor. She really knows what she's doing, she's worked really hard, and she certainly wants to do her best and stick around."

So, could that actually happen? Could any of the new kids become a permanent fixture on Grey's Anatomy? Sarah isn't allowed to reveal how many episodes she's signed to do, but she would definitely be interested in staying if given the opportunity.
