I watched season 1 episode 3 (i think). Anyways, its where mer/der are waiting for the elevator and mer is standing in front of der and der is typing on his sidekick talking to mer about his "thing for ferry boats" before mer turns around der closes his sidekick. But when mer turns around to say that she is taking the stairs. Der is still typing on the sidekick. season 1 epi 1. when they are getting katie bryce out of the chopper. At first the oxygen mask is on correctly, but the next shot its on upside down..lol

in the episode when der is giving mer cpr, there is clearly some mistakes. One is that they would have intubated her as soon as they got her into the ambulance. Also, CPR guidelines changed last year. Plenty of time for the writers to get it right for the episode. Der does like 5 compressions and 2 breaths (which has never been correct). But the correct compression ratio for 1 rescuer is 30 compressions to 2 breaths. And this makes total sense. Why would you give only 5 compressions (which is technically just long enough to get blood flow pumping) and then stop to give breaths. The blood clearly is not reaching the brain by the time he stops to give a breath...So she should have be intubated first. And btw where is the medic that should have been in the back with him? or did i just miss that? If i recall he is alone in the back. Which would have never happaned..

So we have an expert for rescue exercises, that's pretty cool. I thought it was because she was drowning and hardly had any oxygen left in her blood, so he would have pumped the blood without oxygen, but I don't have a clue about medical stuff. And since it was a big accident there might have not been so many people of the rescue teames been left to help. But I think there will be a lot of medical mistakes- my brother knows a little bit about it and told me about Derek hitting a patient with his fist to make the heart beat again, but there is only a certain thing this really makes sense and it was clearly not what was happening on screen.

yeah hitting the chest actually works..ive done it before...but when i done it the pt was still awake but she was vtach. So instead of paddling her i just thumped her chest and her heart went to normal sinus..it was awesome, but not for her as you would imagine.

Hi hot4dempsey - that is 300 % more than I know. I could never do that - I freak when I see blood and I always have to look aside if they show a needle going through skin - boooah I already get goosebumps thinking of it. I had a four weeks training at a hospital a few years ago and it really was a great day when I finally managed to check on patients blood sugar with getting just a drop of blood from the ear. But what is really cool is nobody died during these 4 weeks and usually on that part of the hospital they have 1 or 2 people dying a week and that was a thing I was pretty afraid of.
