MerDer and why I like Grey's
-
Hi Y'all, finally somebody to share my secret TV-addiction! I'm from Germany and we just went through "Damage Case" last night - remeber where Derek got really mad at Meredith for meeting her at night at Finn's house and where she tells him, he doesn't have any right to talk her into how she fixed the parts he broke her heart into. Phew. Even though I know from reading about the upcoming episodes (and all spoilers - guilty!) my girl and boy will be fine in just a little while, what I admire most right now, is the good acting. Derek is so hurt and doesn't want to admit - not even to himself- he loves Meredith. Even though you should hate him for being that mean to her, you can still understand why he acts like that. And that is actually what I like so much about Grey's: It's understandable. For me it is not about all that hospital stuff, but the development of characters is amazing and makes me love all of them and cry for all of them and happy for all of them. At the beginning I really did not like Addison, because, hey, she messed up the relationship of Mer and Der, but then I started to like her, and you even have to like Derek more for trying to make his marriage work, than you could have for just staying with Meredith. Greetings to all of you PschyrembelPosted 3/7/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Pschyrembel - that was my favorite scene. Meredith really laid it all out on the line and was so right on.Posted 3/7/2007 1:00:00 AM #

That is one of my top favorite MerDer moments because I LOVE seeing Derek insanely jealous!Posted 3/7/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Me, too, Rose. He was furious thinking that she slept with McVet! I have watched that one so many times I have her speech memorized! Come on March 15!Posted 3/7/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I've watched that a million times too--I never get tired of it! Another favorite is the bar scene at the end of Where the Boys Are, when Derek is begging Meredith to give him another chance. I would have preferred to see him on his knees though, haha.Posted 3/8/2007 1:00:00 AM #

So I'm not the only one - that's great! My husband was really surprised when he found out, I want Meredith and Derek back together ("You are ALWAYS for the married couple!") Well, that surely is true, but look Dear that's Meredith and that's McDreamy... I'm looking forward to that scene Rose described. I love reading the Quotes on this site. Very often the original version is much better than the German translation.Posted 3/8/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Pschyrembel--the bar scene I mentioned--we were all holding our collective breath watching that scene--the look in Derek's eyes of alarm & fear of losing Meredith was...I can't put it into words. I think he must have broken some law by looking as gorgeous as he did in that moment. His hair was longer then...I've never seen McDreamy look so dreamy as he did on Where the Boys Are.Posted 3/8/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Hi Rose Ahhhhhh Here I am waiting and craving for all good episodes to come along. That really is a strength of Patrick Dempsey: looking hurt. When Meredith told him about her terrible thing with George it was just like that. He looked and it seemed to me like you could somehow hear something like broken glass (actually it reminded me of an episode of the Simpsons where Lisa broke Ralph's heart during a TV-Show and Bart revindes the VCR in slow motion and says: And this is the moment you broke his heart!). And his hair is gorgeous. I wonder how he fixes it though. Since my husband has wavy hair like that too, but if it is more than 2 inches it just stands up and he rather looks like he touched some wires. Maybe that is why Patrick married a hairdresser (just kidding, from reading interviews and stuff I think they really make a very happy couple and family)Posted 3/9/2007 1:00:00 AM #
