Three Preposterous Things
-
I can't believe no one is bothered by this.
1. Callie thinks she's bi, then, when she finds she can't perform, decides she's not. Her problem, she discoves, is that she doesn't like to fail. Really? THAT's the reason you are or aren't bisexual?
2. The viewer is supposed to not notice that practicing oral sex with Mark is perhaps, in conservative circles, considered cheating. Even among lesbians.
3. When Derek, who is living with Meredith, says, "you're not good enough, you're a baby--" we're supposed to think that a) men talk like that to their girlfriends; b) they are allowed to get away with talking like that to their girlfriends.
etc. There are more than three, actually.

for the rest.

Hi i think on points 1 and 2,
1) I dont think callie was doubting whether she was either gay or bi, she was just scared of accepting becoming that person and not being able to retain the sexual confidence she had in a straight relationship.
2) I agree with this, and think it is indicative of the fact that callie has not really accepted that this new relationship for her is something real, hence the above. I wonder if this will have any repurcussions in the future.

I think next week will either confuse or clear up how Callie feels about her relationship with Erica. Especially since the preview hints that she jumps back in the sack with Mark to test a theory. Fingers crossed they can get through it all if Erica finds out.
Hmmmm...

Isiah, you are definitely not the only one bothered by any of those things. Especially about Callica. You can find the irked Callica fans everywhere on this board and especially afterellen.com.
I don't think that the one failed attempt at sex has made Callie decide she is not bisexual. However, I do think her comment, "I don't like to be bad at the things I do," makes it seem like her relationship with Erica is just about conquering the challenge of it.
I do think Derek's comment was harsh, but I don't think it was uncalled for. It wasn't aimed at Meredith personally, but professionally, and besides he can't be her boyfriend in the hospital. I don't remember the "you're not good enough" part of the quote - but yes, Meredith is a baby in the surgical field. On top of that, they're fighting, we all say stupid things when we're fighting. Doesn't make it right, just means it happens.
