The Other Side of Life

Derek doesn't have me worried, he's a lightweight and that is all, oh, great surgeon. He must have the smallest number of lines per sequence of any one I can recall. He blinks, winks, rolls head, listens, cries, smles, etc. but the guy is not very interesting, dynamic and most of all he has a depressive style.Posted 5/5/2007 1:00:00 AM #

All he has to do is smile and thats fine with me :-PPosted 5/5/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Ive yet to see the second part of the 2 hour show...but sad to say it was not quite what i was expecting. it was kinda dragging. addison was great as usual! me like her funny, like her sad, like her in control, like her everything...she outdid herself during her scenes but the rest of the cast just wasn't able to keep up...Posted 5/6/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Late again....Well I enjoyed this episode. I did think it was a little slow, but for the most part it was good. I love Christina and Burke...please make this relationship work. I hope Burke does not back down. Meredith and McDreamy need some spice added back to their relationship. George and Izzie are still making me sick. I am excited to see what happens with Alex and Ava. Who was that passed out on the floor on the next episode? I think the spin-off will be great, but I love anything that is even close to Grey's. However, I am hearing that people are saying that they don't like it. Does that mean that it won't be aired? We shall see...Shonda, what you got up your sleeve girl? Soo this is crazy, and I would laugh if it ends up being true because it's so far-fetched and ridiculous.. But Ava speaks at least 4 languages, right? Possibly more, probably more. And from the preview it's apparent that she knows who she is, but she's hiding it (why else would Alex be yelling?). .... So... the first thing that popped into my mind is that Ava is a CIA agent. Hahaha! I enjoyed PP, but I agree that it dragged and there was NOT enough GA mixed in there! I really liked Addison's development there. Realizing her last dream, and having it crushed like that... Her acting was amazing as she dealt with her own infertility, brought on by waiting her whole life so she could do more surgery on other people's babys. Very sad, very sad...Posted 5/6/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Also, <3 the elevator scene. There were one too many instances of Callie catching Izzie being depressed. Their interactions were really interesting this episode.. Callie is probably very sure that there is something going on- did you see that look she gave Izzie right as the elevator closed? It was an "I know" look, not a hatred look. I think Callie is learning an important lesson here, after pushing her way in and out of every other situation as she has in the past. Their little triangle is so enthralling. I'm glad it's much more complicated than the classic dirty mistress with the wife incapable of feeling anything but hate and the jovial husband. It's such an interesting little web they've weaved for themselves. I look forward to the conclusion!Posted 5/6/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I totally think they should have done GA and then The new show afterwards. It would have made more sense. The two didn't mix well together that's for sure. As for the Thatcher/Meredith thing. You have to think, yes Meredith was upset but why would he see that. He is too caught up in his own grief. I mean, he spent half his life with Ellis who was horrible to him. You can't blame the poor guy. I feel bad for Meredith though cause I think she was hoping this would bring them closer together. I don't know that Derik is upset with her or that he just doesn't know what to do for her. She says she'll be more open and not to give up but then she wouldn't let him console her after her father hit her. I hope they both work it out. But I don't think he'll cheat on her.Posted 5/6/2007 1:00:00 AM #

I know I'm late sending this but, This week has my emotions bouncing all over the map. I loved the show last thurs. So far my favorite person is cooper. He is hilarious. Loved the scene when tim daly kissed addie in the stair well(I can relate to that one).I cried when addie was told my her friend that she would not be able to conceive. When addie got on the elevator and slid down on the floor I cried and could feel her pain.(Addie was great in that scene).Loved the music as always. I thought I was going to see 1 hour of grey's and 1 hour of the spinoff. But actually I liked the interacting with the scenes from both shows.I just was not pleased with the mer/der scenes ( they were to short.) I'm glad cristina/burke are getting their lives together.I realize burke is wondering if he can make cristina happy. but, he has been with her for a while. He should know by now that cristina does not respond to situations like everyone else does. Because she is not smiling and jumping up and down does not mean she does not want to get married. Cristina loves burke (in her own way)She has come along way opening up with her emotions. For me they are perfect together. Now back to my favorite couple in the world. Mer/der I have been crying on and off since last thurs. If Der cheats on Mer I will totally be crushed. The promo with the woman at the bar has set me into a fit.I keep going back to season 2 when Mer ask Der why do people cheat? After the hard childhood/adult life mer has had she deserves better than this. After all Der is the only man(or first man)mer has had a loving relationship with.I hoping Shonda will give us mer/der fans a break. We have waited for SOooo long for them to finally get their lives together and love each other unconditionally. Okay I'm going now. I think I'm rambling. (I did say my thoughts are all over the map). The only thing that has kept me sane this week is I have been watching my dvd of season 1 everyday. Keeping in mind how happy mer/der were before. I will be watching the show tonite.Posted 5/10/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Shonda says that "The Other Side of Life" episode was the culmination of Meredith's family story and the beginning of the end of season 3. This may suggest it may be the beginning of Derek's family story which we know little about;he has 4 sisters I think, we've met Nancy, is there a shrink called Kathleen, his Dad is dead?, his mother has only been referred to by Addison, so far. So Merediths family has been drawn out and I am reminded by another post that way back in season 2 episode 8 (let it be) Meredith said love was about choices and making your own happy ending and her teacher told her that if she was lucky enough to find that romeo and julliet kind of love with someone they would be together forever.I hope fate is on Meredith and Derek's side and love will be enough for them. Seriously.Posted 5/10/2007 1:00:00 AM #
