    What the heck? I LOVED the George and Izzie scene in the elevator. So much passion! I thought the Private Practice pilot was cute. Excessive, but cute. I am so sad that Susan died. I just wanted to like, hug Meredith. I couldn't believe the Chief and Bailey had Meredith tell him. I thought he was going to flip because Meredith didn't let him say goodbye. As far as the George saga, I think Callie is going to come up pregnant. Some of the spoilers seem to lean that way -- at least that's how my wishful mind interprets them. Goodnight all!     i can't even think straight right now! i'm so sad susan died! and did the chief, bailey and derek see thatcher slap mer? cause i'd think that they would react a little differently if they did...and derek watching her drink with izzie and alex and then walking away!? WTF!! and honestly, i felt like the spin off was robbing me of greys. at some points it was super funny but i felt overwhelmed by new characters and story lines...i don't kno. i think it should have been seperate from greys because whenever they were in LA i found myself wanting to know what was happening in Seattle

    so this is my theory on the girl hitting on derek in the bar... i think (mainly hope) that they just cut it to look like that girl was asking derek...but from some pictures we know that derek, mark, and burke go to a bar so i'm thinking (again mainly hoping) that the girl is hitting on mark and they just make it look like it's derek

    That was terrible. The new cast couldn’t act their way out of a box. Can you say “second string?” Addison was leaps and bounds above them. I tired to like them, but couldn't connect with them in any way. They just don't have it. And Mer/Der, what is up with that? Note to writers: you don’t have to kill people to make things interesting!! That was just awful. Why are they pulling this crap? It’s not even meaningful, just crap. And Derek in the bar with that ugly girl? They want us to believe that after falling in love with Meredith in season 1, fighting for her in season 2, and saving her life in season 3, he’s going to just leave and find some girl in a bar? Writers: you suck. Get with the program. The spinoff was BORING, leaving regular grey's unsatifying and poorly written. Yes, even if almighty Shonda were to appear before me, I wouln't hesitate to tell her this ep was terrible. After waiting for a nice 2 hour ep, I was extremely let down and bored. It would be hard for me to be more displeased.

    Ok I listened to the podcast and Shonda and Betsy interpreted Meredith drinking with Alex and Izzie as her reverting back to her safe place of tequilla....I'm worried now what Derek thinks...if she's not careful he won't find his way back to her.

    Didn't anyone feel had in that this episode was a dupe to get us to ramp up for the new series starring Kate Walsh and a new cast of characters in LA. While spinning off is an eventual outcome, I still resented the fact that I sat down to watch my favorite show and was sold down the river watch something else.

    i feel likewise about the spin-off -- like it was shoved down our throats. like some others said i tuned in for a 2hr greys and got maybe 20 mins of greys. that was not a good way to introduce the show, by taking advantage of the greys fans. (however, i did enjoy tim daly/kate walsh! he's so freakin hot and OMG nice kiss! lol)

    Yeah, I think Tim Daly was in The Nine which came to an abbreviated demise. I agree with you that the gatekeepers took advantage of grey's fans in this episode, wonder what Shonda might say?
