    me too rose. i think he and mer have been down that road already. maybe it has something to do with work?? the fight over the chief's position perhaps?

    i want mer-der to get off the rollercoaster pink mist!!! i just want them to be happy happy happy!!! the suspense and anticipation is just killing me.

    I thought the show was only on for 6 years also, but they signed on for 6 more years this year..so i guess that would be a total of 9...why not go 10

    I do think that Derek has some sides that we have not seen; he is a wounded man. He was destroyed by his wife and best friend. There is a lot of rebuilding going on there. I think that he may have some anger and fears that are only starting to be dealt with. I think that he and Mer will have some more ups and downs, but we all know that after the last 3 episodes, it seems like they are on a path of togetherness. It is like real life.

    as much as i hate the idea that mer and der could break up...i don't think it would be all that bad. i mean even when derek was with addison...there still was so much chemistry between them. we were just waiting and waiting for them to get back together and it was amazing when they did! but i think if the show is going to be continuing for 9-10 seasons....mer and der won't stay together for all of that time. as much as i want them to, i don't think shonda will be so nice. but i do kind of miss them when they would flirt in the elevator :)

    I would think that the show would run around 7 years because that is how long you are an intern and resident.

    Thank you too for your nice words MD02. I am basically an Izzie-positive type person, but worries about Meredith and Derek turn me into a wreck! Your male perspective is calm and insightful--we appreciate it here.
