I thought the scene in the season premier with Alex, Arizona and Derek with her saying like "Hm, McDreamy," was incredibly awkward. Also the two catching Mer and Der having sex scenes were pretty damn awkward.

Okay, I think for me the absolutely, definitely WORST scene ever was in season 3, in the 2nd part of the 2part episode where Mer nearly drowns and it looks like she's not gonna make it, and Izzie gives her speech to the others about "I believe that we will survive..." or something like that. For me, NOTHING can "top" that. Baaaaad acting, and waaay to bad and cheesy writing. Geez, just thinking about that makes me wanna throw up.
And I DO love the show!! :)

I was recently rewatching some episodes from season 5 and found the scene in episode 5 when Izzie declares "I care about you" to Alex. All the things she said, like "I care about you and I am not going to go crazy or try to kill myself" were horrible! It was like she psychoanalysed him and pointed out his problem, which was oversimplified and sounded SOO awkward! And then... the repeating "I care about you" like 10 times - I am really embarassed for her in this scene.
And Erica Hahn's "seeing leaves" - awfully weird;)

Unfortunately, the most awkward scene for me comes from my favorite couple and favorite two characters. The Izzie/Alex I care about you scene. I think it was awkward for me because she kept repeating and repeating and repeating and at some point during her "I CARE ABOUT YOU" rant I was like, "OKAY WE GET IT...I SAID WE GET IT..OKAY DAMN IT I CAN'T WATCH IT ANYMORE!!"
I was just so embarrassed for Izzie it was so awkward and it might not even have been her fault, maybe it was the writing. Might I add this is the scene I waited 5 seasons for (the scene where Izzie opens her heart up to Alex, not just an on-call room romp). This was totally not good! I was disappointed in the script to say the least!!BTW: I seeing ALOT of the same opinions when it comes to the awkward scenes. That can only mean one thing. These must be indeed awkward!

SydMcDreamy77 ... You didn't like "pick me, choose me, love me" ... how!?! By far one of my favorite Grey's moments.
Most awkward scenes are as follows:
- George and Meredith [sex scene] ... just yuck overall.
- Alex and Izzie ["I care about you"] ... I was embarrassed for her, no doubt.
- Callie and Hahn [their whole relationship/sex moments] ... I am all for lesbians and gay rights etc but they just were not a good couple and neither one of them knew what to do with each other - talking about bases and when Callie tells Hahn to take her pants off we're trying this again I just almost lost it.
- Lexie and Sloan ["teach me"] ... completely unnecessary and just creepy on both ends.

- definitly the scenes in which izzie and george lie in bed together and can't seem to get the sex right. that was weird.

- some scenes between Alex and Ava
