Yeah I really don't like Rose. Meredith seems like she goes at an extremely slow pace when it comes to settling because Derek as been married already. He's settled once before as we all know. And we all know that Derek can't be alone. I think Derek is messing this up for himself. Meredith will get there eventually. He should have seen that like two episodes ago when she said she didn't want to date other people, She's ALMOST there!

Almost or not MER isn't there and I don't blame DER for not waiting or wanting to wait...at this point Mer's pity party has gotten old and stale! I also understand Mer's side in where she doesn't trust Der. This all just sucks and is depressing...I feel like season 4 has been a wash and the plot is just going in circles with no climax in site. Actually there was a climax with this show way back in season 2 when life was good and so was Grey's Anatomy. The strike does suck but seriously with the way the show was going if I need drama I will watch Days of Our Lives...at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Rose was some long lost relative of Mer's and Lexie's

You know, as much as i dispise myself for saying it, i really don't think rose is that bad. she's definitely the anti-meredith. she knows what she wants. she's pretty. she is relaxed. she eats candy a lot. she is just what derek needs. don't get me wrong, i adore merder, but right now i need something new to adore. rose might not be such a bad change. especially if she is just the person who will make meredith frickin grow up, so she realizes what she is missing. btw, did you see the way derek was looking at meredith at the end of the episode? oh my goodness! he totally still loves her. he doesn't want her gone. but he may have to make a few changes to fully get her back.

hi everyone i watched the episode yesterday and i just have to say that i think this whole MerDer/Rose thing is a little bit unrealistic... i mean in the beginning of this episode derek was at Mer's house and had breakfast and show her all his plans for their dreamhouse..it looked like they were a couple again.... and then at the hospital they talked about the house again and Mer said something like there are thousand steps....and they will try to not fall them down together...and Der kissed her and said okay.... and the the scence where they fight because of rose.... i mean i can understand Mer..how should she trust Der if he kisses other girls, ... and then they broke up...they both didn't look very happy at this point i think...so they are not over each other... and in the end of this episode like Megan C said....the way derek looked at Mer....he still loves her and i think he didn't know what to do...he doesn't want her gone.. and then he went to Rose..telling her he want to date her..i think that is the unrealistic part of this episode...i mean maybe he has to do this ...to get Mer back....but he didn't look happy when he aks Rose out...he just looked confused and desperate and unhappy...

Put your self in Derek's position. You love this girl, but she is insecure, a bit shilly-shally and in fact, constantly leaving him. That is not easy to work with. I am thinking that we perhaps are seeing the age difference between Der and Mer and the problems it brings. He is ready to settle down, but every attempt to get Mer along, results with mer's withdrawal. And how are you supposed to build a future on that? On waiting and vague whishes and emotions. And this "almost there" thing is gettin' old. It is not enough, and I don't blame Der for checking out the menu so to speak. But I am afraid that we'll just have another season with Mer/Der sending each other looks and so on. I did really suppose something to happen, in the fishing trip episode(season 3 I think,) when Derek talks to her at the bar, and she replies that there's too much water and so on, Derek says "please" and to me it seemed like she was not taking his hand out of convinced love. But this is just my thoughts, and let's just hope the strike ends soon.

I thought this was a good article that I read concerning the future of Mer/Der. I liked how they have taken comments from Shonda/Betsy's podcast. I have been thinking about their previous podcast as well and trying to link everything together too. And also remembering and hanging onto the fact that Mer/Der can never break up completely and there is this magnetic pull between them that can never be broken. I can't wait to watch their journey back to each other and finally see their love story unfold! Also, as many others have commented the look on Derek's face when they were all standing around looking at Bailey and her baby. I agree. The camera zoomed in on him and Meredith and that look he had looking at her just reminds us of how much he still loves her and hasn't let her go! He may think he has, but we know better! Okay, here are my thoughts on the episode: George and Izzie are OVER. Really, truly over. The way George looked when he was talking to his mom? Total over. Alex and Izzie are starting up again. Izzie is pretending not to have feelings for Alex. Alex isn't hiding anything. Okay, now for the big stuff. Bailey and Tucker: I wish I could say they would stay together, but it's a no. And MerDer? They are falling apart. No, not falling, they are pushing and falling apart. Meredith has a right to feel like major untrusting crap. But Derek doesn't deserve to be such a total jerk. He is acting like... weird! First he's all "I'm happy go-lucky!" and then he's "You are running away Meredith, I hate you, Rose is so much better than you. I don't care if I forgot to tell you that I have a wife. Oh, and I forgot to tell you that I kissed a nurse yesterday. Oh- and by the way- I don't care if your dad left you when you were five!" Total freaking jerk. But I feel sorry for Rose. Derek is just going to jerk her around, too. Kiss, I'm in a relationship, dinner date. She will end up hurt in the end, unless she dies, and then she's dead. And I WON'T wait for the next episode. WON'T!

There are clearly heavy emotions among the fans, but this is not as black and white as it may seems for some of you. Derek is right when he says that they were not together, like really together. And I think that some of you might be asking too much of Derek. He's just a guy, and I agree that bringing up the marriage-part again, is irrelevant. Mer has to move on from that part of their history. I think Derek has declared his love to Mer strongly enough numberous times, and it was Mer who wanted to brake up in the first place. But again, the age-difference could play a major factor here. But I think that Rose is going to convince him that he really wants Mer(again...) He did not seem happy to take rose out, and mer/der have this bond which connects them anyway. Last, I just want to say, that George is annoying me. He knew perfectly well that Meredith did not know about Rose, perhaps it was for the best, but anyway.

I don't necessarily think it's the age difference but rather a difference in maturity and emotional and mental readiness. I mean we're all different. For some us things take longer than they do for others. Some of us know right a way what we want while some of us don't and we take a windier path to get to our ultimate destination. It's only when two people are ready and in the same place mentally that they can be together. I agree that Rose will likely show Derek that Mer is his soulmate. Just like he tried to make it work with Addi ultimately to realize that it is Meredith who has his heart, and he'll try with Rose and it won't be bad, but in his heart it won't be Meredith. In the meantime, Mer has to get herself ready and hope that Derek is still there once she is.
