     Well, yeah, but it's not like Mer and Thacher are the only ones in the world that snore. But yes, Mer is incredibly pale.

     Ah, not necessarily. Lots of biracial people are quite light skinned. (Hence the whole phenomenon of "passing" during the days of official segregation.) For that matter, look at Wentworth Miller on Prison Break. (Of course, any excuse to look at WM is a good one... but I digress.) In any case, my best guess would be that she's not his daughter, but that he suspects or believes that she is. I agree, they've really emphasized the similarities between Mer and Thatcher... BUT... nothing is accidental in the writing on this show, and you can bet that the Chief meant *something* by those three words. I'll be curious to see what.

     I think that it would be better for the show for Mer to be Thatcher's daughter and for them to develop a relationship!

     I remember in one of the podcasts that Shonda said that their relationship would develop further, but all that really happened so far is the ear plugs thing

     yea, i think it would barely be more shocking than the season one finale where addison introduces herself as 'shepherd'.
