Drowning on Dry Land

what I think will happen... okay, im sure someone had this idea but i was too lazy to read through all the pages lol...ill get to it though :o) I think that Mer will spend most the episode talking to denny and bomb guy...dead...then, i think ellis will flatline, and end up in the same in between type place mer is. mer will get the chance to talk to lucid (dead) ellis, and ellis will finally tell her that shes proud of her and how much ellis wishes her life had been 'ordinary'. mer willget a seond chance at life, and even when she wakes up to find her mother has died, she will have closure that she never would have had if she had been awake while ellis was dying. just a thought.Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Read Shonda's new blog on last night's show, it is awesome. www.greymatter.com I think that Mer is for sure coming back. I said earlier that Mer is a damaged, hurt and injured girl. She is so much these things that only death can help her realize that life is worth living. Shonda almost says this in the blog. I think that it will be Denny, telling her about how much she has to live for. He knows about leaving the great love of your life behind. Denny will be able to help Mer see that Derek is worth living for. I think Dylan will remind Mer that Christina and her friends need her. She is integral to there lives. They will remind Mer that death is not the answer to her problems, it only makes things worse, because nothing is resolved. She has to fight for life and Denny and Dylan will help her do that!Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

summer I completely agree. I do think Ellis will be the real one to die. Even thought I am convincing myself as well, I dont think any greys fans have to worry about Mer really dying for good. this will be her 'wake up' episode. plus i listened to the podcast on abc.com and shonda was making a comment about how things are so ironic- in the literary sense. It would be ironic that mer and ellis are dying at the same time or that mother and daughtr both die, then mer comes back. Also they talked about Mer being on a journey. This whole falling int he water, dying isnt done for kicks, there is a point and Mer is on a journey, she will finish it and come back to life (i think). Plus, Shonda was making fun of well....I mean we could just call it 'anatomy" and be done. or whatever. But based on what I heard, they are getting us all worked up, whenMer really wont die for good.Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Thats pretty much what I was thinking last night. I think Denny, Dylan, and Ellis will all route Mer back to life...GOOD CALL SUMMER, thank you for being optimistic...I think we all needed that..lolPosted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

ok here is my opinion..We Medics have a a saying that "they arent dead till they are warm and dead". With mer body temp at only 81 degrees, as soon as they warm her body up to the right body temp, then my guess is thats when she will come back from asystole..And denny and dylan will probably tell her to go back to the light..blah blah blah...and she will come back...but at this point thats the only medical logical way for them to bring her back from asystole.. whats the deal with izzie? is she infatuatd with george? and how sweet was it when alex told addie that he would miss her if something happaned to her.Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

Summer, wow what a great call. I hope you are right! What I don't get is, was Mer commiting suicide by sinking into the water, or was she too weak to go on? At first I thought she was trying to save herself, but as she was talking in the voice-over about disapearing, she became so still and looked very strange, it looked like she decided to just give up.Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #

It seems a little predictable...and I may be wrong, but Meredith coming out of the water with such a low body temp sort of sets the stage for a dramatic yet believable (because of the low body temp) recesitation(sp?) in the next episode. Everybody keeps saying that two people die, but only one of the deaths is permanent...I'm far more curious who the other death will be. I've gotta say to that this show has really mastered the cliffhanger...ever time they do one of these two or three episode things, they really leave the audience to sweat it out until the very end. I may be wrong, but I don't think they can realistically kill of the Meredith character without ending the series. That character...if nothing else is their voice...if they don't have her...and if we as the audience don't have her...then fundamentally the show changes...and why change something that is currently such a huge success.Posted 2/16/2007 1:00:00 AM #
