Walk On Water
Slight frustration is understandable, while we wait to see what happens on a beloved show. Directing it at someone on a board who does not deserve it ... not understandable. Angry voices, please subside them. People with claws out, please retract them. Just because you cannot see their faces, it does not make the person sitting at the keyboard any less of a person. Just because you cannot define it physically, it does not make this board any less of a community. If you two must fight, create a thread for that purpose somewhere else here and confine your venom there. Please do not bring your long history of angry personal disputes to this thread again.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Grey's Anatomy Yearly Convention? Anyone interested?
I think you could put together a convention pretty easily. Rename it, of course, to imply something more fun ... like a GA Celebration Weekend or something. Convention implies star appearances, which may be a goal for next year but you may not be able to pull off without more coordination and funds. Get a schedule together doing some GA activities like taking the ferry, going to the neighborhood where Mer's house is, going up in the Space Needle, call the local NBC folks that have the building that doubles as Seattle Grace and see if they will let you guys go up on the roof where the helicopters land or something. It does not have to be super complicated, or expensive. Have one night where you have dinner somewhere GA-ish, all other meals people can do on their own, that will make it easier for you to plan. Leave enough time in the schedule for people to do some fun Seattle activities too ... the Rock & Roll deal is right there, along with the SciFi museaum and a bunch of other stuff. There is reliable public transportation downtown so you can get that done pretty easily - - just include routes, costs and estimate with the packet of info you leave for people to pick up when they check into the hotel and trust them to figure out the rest.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
THEYRE MARRIED!!!!!!!
I like Callie a lot, she does not take a lot of crap from the other girls which is refreshing. She also loves George, which is great and goes a long way. The sudden wedding thing was a shocker, but it happens. I think it is interesting because both she and George have walked away - literally and figuratively - in the past when things have gotten rough and now they cannot. I am looking forward to seeing how this develops, but it is definitely a background SL for sweeps due to the ferry thing.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
talk about Denny here!
If it is not a dream or a flashback, then I think he is in a vision or maybe as an angel or something. But it will be connected to the person who dies. That is my theory, anyway! Btw, if anyone watches Weeds he is super sexy over there too ... he plays the main character's dead husband. Kinda odd how this guy keeps getting cast as the idealized dead love, but I guess we will take our Denny Dose when we can!Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Who dies?
Before the blog post from SR I was kind of thinking maybe Meredith ... but the SR blog post definitely wants us to think it is Meredith, and they are so tricky that now I am second guessing myself. Perhaps instead the person dies trying to save Meredith, which makes me think McDreamy. Or perhaps George, for some reason having George die right after he marries Callie would be very Grey's sad. Almost anybody would make sense, I guess. But if they want the whole country talking then it probably will be Meredith or Derek. I am just hoping it is not Christina, because I love her, or Bailey, because she is the sanity that holds that place together.Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Walk On Water
Meredith is miserable ... she is all dark and twisty and contemplative, and this is the premise of the show. She is the voice over, her thoughts and feelings and darkness are the undercurrent of each episode. And she secretly wants to die, and Meredith never gets what she wants -- at least not the way she wants it. So my thought is ... Meredith is not going to die, because that is what Meredith wants. And in Meredith's mind death would be a release of some sort. So if the whole show is about how miserable she is then she cannot be released. She also will not lose her memory because they would make that funny, and they are clear this is not a funny three-parter. And in certain ways that would also be a release for Meredith, because much of her pain comes from knowing and noticing and analyzing too much. So someone else is going to die, because whatever happens is going to make Meredith more miserable. They may even die trying to save Meredith, because that would make her the even more miserable and also awash with guilt. So who is it? I hate to say it, but McDreamy is a prime candidate for death here. Or some sort of horrible injury. Actually injury is more likely. Because he is perfect and so full of denial a lot of the time and it would be just like Shondra to give him something he cannot deny. And that would definitely be something else miserable to "happen" to Meredith. So many possibilities, and so many days left before Thursday ... Last week's episode was one big set up, and this show thrives on set ups. But one thing that is interesting is that unlike a lot of shows where everything gets set up and then all of the action is at the end, Shondra likes to have all of the action at the end and the third act is usually the emotional repercussions of what happens for the characters. So it would make sense that this week would be the action episode, with consequences in week three.Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Watch episodes online!
No worries, you are not missing much on the abc.com site. I don't know anybody who can get that thing to work. I have spent HOURS trying to watch full episodes and it is usually one giant lag fest ... you can get a few minutes clear here and there, but other times every syllable takes about 10-30 seconds for minutes at a time. It is a miserable experience. I hate appointment television, but learned my lesson and until I get TiVo I will be making a weekly appointment to watch Grey's just so I can avoid abc.com!Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
favorite song from any episode.
There are so many good ones, they use music so well! My favorite from this season so far is the faux-bubbly one from a couple eps ago, it played right after the credits and is in the background when Addison tells Callie she aborted Mark's baby. The lyrics are all about how this woman knows she has never really loved anyone as much as she loved herself and it breaks her heart, and it seems like such a great Addison song. Because Addison never REALLY lets herself be fully vulnerable with anyone. Mark is a safety net for her a lot of ways because she can get what she needs from him but she never has to worry about falling for him ... and while she loved Derek, she never loved Derek as much as she loved the idea of Derek. Anyway, the song was basically about this lacking or emptiness and it just seemed so perfect for her. So that was probably my favorite. But Cosy is the classic Grey's song. "Nobody knows" ... it is perfect for this show.Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Walk On Water
"One of the death's will stick" ... that definitely adds more weight to the Mer-dies-but-does-not-stay-dead theory. And y'all are right, I can totally see them letting us think she is really dead for a week. Not sure what I think about there being "another death" ... a patient death I guess? Or maybe another character, maybe Ellis, who knows. The really interesting thing is about Callie's secret. I wonder? She mentioned once, in passing, to George that she has secrets ... I think it was when he showed up at the hotel and asked her how she could afford to live there. Perhaps Denny is not the only one with secret wealth, although I don't think George would be quite so subdued if he found out he suddenly had access to so many "rosebuds."Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM #
