My Favorite Mistake
Classic Grey's, with the first half hour being set up and the second half hour being all pay off. An interesting contrast is that unlike the Mer Dies Trio of Eps everyone LOOKED really good last night. People keep saying it and it is true, the hair the makeup everything looked good. Especially Christina at the end, sometimes you forget how beautiful Sandra Oh is, but when she came in to Burke's room with her hair all flowing around she just looked amazing. The scene in the closet was one of the best ever IMO. I have said it before but ... this show is pretty much the best on TV at writing and acting significant emotions that are portrayed without any words. They ran the whole gamut of emotions from the brief joy of discovering each others feelings to embarrassment anger loss and everything in between in less than a minute with just their eyes faces and body language. Great stuff! I agree with the people who wish we had seen more of Callie's dad. As always there was so much crammed in an hour we did not get to really see that relationship or understand more about Callie's family which is a shame. The Jane Doe SL is going well, it seems, and it is nice to see more character development from Alex. You would think he would be more upset that Mer is scrubbing in on the plastics op especially after all of the hours he logged in getting coffee for McSteamy, but it seems like he just accepts that things with that guy will never be fair. It was nice to see Mer step up and be a really good surgeon again. It has been a while, you almost forget all of the stuff from season one where she was "gifted" and all of that. I liked the scene at the end ... "dead mommy would be happy" :). Overall it seemed like Burke's comment to Christina about how he was only interested in going forward, not backward, was a theme for the ep. A lot happened that really moved several plots forward, which is understandable now that we are coming down to the end of the season. I read somewhere that there are only two eps left of Grey's?? Please someone tell me that is bad/wrong info because there is too much out there for two eps! Can't quite talk about George & Izzie yet. I have posted several times that I did not think it was going to happen, but now that it has happened it makes sense. I will fully admit that the fact that I like Callie is coloring my ability to digest that SL ... But I do think that you guys are right that Addison said adultery first in her conversation with Izzie. That could be because Addison's own experiences mean she automatically equates "wrong person" with "adultery" ... or it could be because Addison automatically knew what Izzie was talking about. Callie and Addison kind of confide in one another, and looking back on the season (especially the "I married the help" conversation) you can get the sense that Addison knows about Callie's family money ... she may even know Callie's family since Addison comes from a wealthy background as well. Anyway, they talk so she could guess that way or simply from all of the public outbursts Izzie has had about George. What is interesting is that Mer and Christina did not even remotely guess or suspect. That part was hard to believe, especially since they were up before Izzie so when they said "George is still here??" you think it would have clicked that meant George slept in Izzie's room.Posted 3/24/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
My Favorite Mistake
Yes, you are correct that the title of the show is a reference to the famous anatomy textbook.Posted 3/24/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
How about that? ( Izzie and George)
If they did have sex ... ugh. So angry! George does not deserve Callie.Posted 3/19/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Scars and Souvenirs
I just (finally) got to watch this ep and I am so angry about george & izzie! Typical Grey's to make her SO UNLIKABLE this whole ep and then have her sleep with George! It makes sense for her character but it still makes me angry, particularly at George who does not deserve Callie. I do not understand his reaction about her money and I look forward to learning more about her (isn't her dad a character on soon?). At least the adultery will make it easier for Callie to divorce George without sharing her wealth. Hate that SL right now! And I am glad they are doing more with McDreamy. He is a great actor and says so much without very many words. I would like to see more of him. And Christina and Burke. I am sure you guys have already discussed it to death in the past 37 pages, but damn. I will go read more before I write more but I just had to get my George/Izzie disgust off my chest!Posted 3/19/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Some Kind of Miracle
Still reading through the comments, but for the folks who are wondering the Emmys are in the late summer/early fall ... can't remember exactly but usually August or September I think.Posted 2/24/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Crazy new spoiler!
Hmmm. I think some of these are confused. If an attending goes to another hospital it would probably be Addison b/c she is getting her spin-off show. And it is about time for Izzie to hook up, but George? I dunno. Maybe, because they do not shy away from the dumb/uncomfortable mistakes these characters could make on this show ... the daughter thing seems most likely actually. Huge cliffhanger for the summer maybe? As for Callie's secret I am hoping hoping hoping it is something more interesting than she is pregnant. I mean, come on. Maybe it is the Days of our Lives syndrome rubbing off on me, but I do not like pregnancy as a plot device. Unless she is pregnant with SLOAN's baby ... cause that, that would be interesting.Posted 2/21/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Crazy new spoiler!
Oh, and I can see Mer/Der having issues later this Spring but I hope it is not an ex. If she lives that is, blah blah blah :). Seriously, they keep saying M & D are on this journey and growing as people and how hard it is and all that so it would make sense that there is some tension there. This deal has been intense and it is hard to recover from that without scars of some sort ... if she wakes up,and she will, I expect it to be very difficult for them for a bit.Posted 2/21/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Drowning on Dry Land
I don't watch a lot of TV, just this and Heroes now, but I would watch the Kate spinoff I think. Especially of Shondra oversees the SLs, it should be good. The hookup thing is interesting. I have been waiting and waiting for this but then today I remembered I have an awards ceremony tomorrow night so I have to miss it! Arg! Not sure when I will get to watch it either which is just the pits.Posted 2/21/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Drowning on Dry Land
After some thought, it actually makes sense to me that Mer sees Denny & Dylan when she "dies." Most of us wonder, why those two? It is just Shondra, and the hotness of those two, etc. And there is no doubt that is part of it. But we can't forget that Mer is not like most people. She has no close friends, no people from the past, no old high school buddies who died in a car crash or whatever. She has the interns, and her mom, and if she has more family she probably knows them about as well as she knows her dad which means ... she does not. Denny, on the other hand, has been on her mind and in many ways in her house for months now in the form of Izzie's love and grief. And the bomb guy saved her life, and then literally exploded all over her. So Mer, in her dark and twisty way, could believably manifest them in her mind for a "death experience."Posted 2/20/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Drowning on Dry Land
I have not listened to the podcast yet, but she has said in other places that she thinks of the little girl as Meredith also. That is another possibility. Will post more after I listen :).Posted 2/17/2007 1:00:00 AM #
