5.11 Wish You Were Here PDR
Thought that this was a brilliant episode. They are really pushing these characters to grow and that is making all of it really pay off. Loved learning more about Derek tonight. It was also nice to see that he and Owen are really starting to bond. I do hope that Christina and Mer will patch things up, but it needs to happen in its own time. It was good to see the chief really worried about his hospital and wanting to fix it. Really glad to see Izzie trying to work through the Denny thing. Mark and Callie are hilarious. I love Mark and Lexie together, I am excited to see how it all plays out. Great episode!

All By Myself
Warning: Stop reading, Grey's Anatomy fans, if you don't want to know the big secret behind Denny's afterlife love affair with Izzie.I'm serious. Stop.Okay then, here we go. Turns out Shonda Rhimes wasn't lying when she told me last month that a brain tumor wasn't what was causing Izzie's case of "I see dead people... and have sex with them!" But she was being sneaky.Last chance to run, spoilerphobes!According to multiple sources, Izzie's hallucinations are health-related -- and brain-related. And although the specific name of the ailment is being kept in the safe underneath Rhimes' desk, I'm told it's similar to an aneurysm. And every time it flares up, she sees Denny. And sometimes when it really flares up, she shags him. (A Grey's rep could not be reached for comment.)But wait, there's more! Izzie's aneurysmish disorder was never intended to be fatal. Plans change, but, per an ABC insider, Rhimes didn't cook up this story in order to grant Katherine Heigl's alleged wish to be let go from the show. Rather, the boss wanted to give her employee the thing she allegedly wanted, the thing that eluded her last season: great, Emmy-worthy material. And say what you want about the story, Heigl has delivered. For their part, ABC execs remain divided except for on one point: Everyone acknowledges that the plot is asking the audience to take a huge leap. "It's definitely an unorthodox story, but I trust in Shonda," maintains one suit, who says the press will eviscerate the net no matter what they do. "If we interfere, we get blamed for messing with someone's creative vision. If we don't do anything, we get blamed for the backlash. You really can't win."Another insider says Alphabet execs are getting antsy waiting for the audience to find out about the underlying medical issue fueling Izzie's spectral romance. So antsy, in fact, that they are applying some light pressure on Rhimes to speed up the reveal. Once you know the reason Izzie is seeing Denny, they figure, you'll be much more willing to go along for the ride.Well, let's put that theory to the test: Now that you know what's behind Izzie's condition, do you feel better? Worse? Indifferent? Sound off below! (Personally, I can get on board with this story now. I think.)

All By Myself
Cristina is awarded the first solo surgery among the residents, but must give it up and choose her replacement and Callie can't figure out if Sadie is friendly or flirtatious. Looks great!

In the Midnight Hour
There is no need for drama with Der/Mer. I am loving that they healthy and loving each other, working as a team. I love seeing them happy. It was really interesting to see how much the 2nd years have learned and how well they handled tonight's problem. I love Mark! I think that he and Callie would be brilliant together. I really liked Mark and Derek's lines together, very funny. Really liking Hunt still. I am willing to let the Denny play out before I make a judgement call on it. Mer dying really helped her grow, maybe this is what she needs to grow. I also really liked the way Derek and Meredith are taking on traits of each other. She is becoming more thoughtful and he is becoming more caring to the people around him; like how he got paternal with Lexie, so sweet.

In the Midnight Hour
Looks like some things may come to a head in this episode. The interns have gone crazy, operating on themselves!

The TIes That Bind
Looks like a whopper of an episode, one that also introduces us to Mary McDonnell's character.

Rise Up
Thought that this episode was really good. It is good to see someone with an outside view on the characters. Hunt is really intreating person. It was also interesting that he is not completely right about the characters. He does not know them well enough to know how they tick and how they are (mostly) really good at there jobs. It was also nice to see how they are having the character grow and work to be better doctors. I thought that the exit of Hahn was well done. I cannot wait to see how the characters grow. I am glad that they are not always focusing on Der/Mer and just letting them be a real couple, with real, every day issues. I also think that it would be cool if George and Hunt became friends.

Big, Huge Hahn News!!!!!
Shonda Rhimes' response to the matter:
"Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian, Erica Hahn. Clearly it's not an issue as we have a lesbian character on the show – Calliope Torres. Sara Ramirez is an incrediblecomedic and dramatic actress and we wanted to be able to play up her magic. Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke's character would sustain in the long run. The impact of the Callie-Erica relationship will be felt and played out in a story for Callie. I believe it belittles the relationship to simply replace Erica with 'another lesbian.' If you'll remember, Cristina mourned the loss of Burke for a full season."
