I cast lots of votes-- and I'll keep going back! So, now that spoilers are sounding a little more positive for our Meredith and Derek, lets turn to Alex. I am on the fence here. Last season I loved Ava and Alex and their chemistry. But they only brought Ava back for one short episode and it wasn't enough. It didn't quite hit the mark the same as it would have if it had been last season, or if Ava never left. I think he might actually be good with Lexie... but again, I'm still on the fence. That's kind of what I was thinking. No doubt that Alex & Ava's chemistry was great, but beyond that... AND she has a baby now... not that I don't think Alex could ever be a father-figure, but right now he is SO FAR from being there... he and Lexie seem to share a common ground, so that makes for a good foundation. We could really use to see a little more of who Alex really is-- with Lexie I think we'll see that. However, I have not yet felt any real hot chemistry between them... might just be b/c we hardly know Lexie yet...Posted 11/19/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

Bezzypal, are you serious? You like the new chic? She said maybe 2 lines out of the whole episode and that made you like her? Sounds like you just don't want Meredith and Derek together... let me just ask... has Der truly looked happy with anyone else? And anytime Mer has tried with anyone else... no one else is even in her league. Remember the disaster that was Finn? I know some fans kind of liked them together and he as nice and all, but just not on the same plane as Mer... I really truly CAN NOT IMAGINE either of them seriously be happy with anyone but each other. OK-- Kathy you and I flip-flopped-- don't get me wrong, I'm still glass-half-full-girl and always will be-- I KNOW MerDer will end up together-- but L. Stimile's character's intro was worse that I thought. I don't like the looks she's giving Der and I absolutely HATE that he's noticing her. Not much happened b/t them this epi which leads me to believe that was just a beginning and there will be much more building on it... I believe it is still just a bump in the MerDer road, but I have an unsettling feeling that the bump is going to be bigger than I first predicted. By the way-- I agree-- she is really not very attractive. She is definitely headstrong and knows exactly what she wants. She's been in 30someodd surgeries with him? and acknowledges that there are clicks? and chose now (when hospital gossip has revealed that he and Mer are officially broken up, I'm sure and he is obviously faltering) to come forward and get his attention? YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! for lack of a better word-- that is my response to her! She is definitely the Anti-Mer. So completely different, there is no doubt that he will choose Mer in the end. But the unrest of this torture with the season getting cut short... I am on the edge of my seat, waiting to soak up every MerDer moment-- like the hand squeezes. Loved the scene when Mer grabbed his hand. A new thought--- and a little bit of where I was heading in previous posts... Mer is not ready the way Der THINKS he is ready, but she is close and getting closer by the episode. I think Mer is also hanging back in a way to test him. And I don't think in the manipulative way, but I think she's trying to make sure that Der works every last doubt out of him and she's waiting to see if he really will choose her. Pick her. Choose her. Love her. She is wanting to be absolutely sure he is picking her. I thought Lex screaming at Mer was fantastic. Not b/c I want Mer to hurt, but b/c it is not fair for Mer to assume that the grass is always greener on Lexie's side-- she has been mean and unfair to Lexie and this is a very crucial part of Mer's growing pains. Lexie is going to be almost as much as an important part of her life as Der is. Lexie is the key to Mer's growth. As for Gizzie? I really hope that meant that they are going to get back to being best friends and finding their love for each other with being best friends as the foundation of where their going. I still love them together, b/c I still remember that chemistry we saw last season. They may have lost it, but if they try I'm sure they can find it again. As for Dr. Hahn? She is just rude! And being rude to Bailey is not helping me like her AT ALL. The scene b/t Bailey and Der was phenomenal. And Der calling Sloan "Dad" at the end? hilarious! Kathy, I am so in agreement with you-- on all of it! I really can't imagine that Shonda would be planning to really break up MerDer. But I just wonder if she didn't write it like the season was going to end after epi 11 and maybe we'll feel as though we're left hanging... Oh, and if Der sleeps with this new chic... well, he just CAN'T!! He will not be so McDreamy w/o Mer... Maybe Shonda just remembers how we all survived them breaking up b/f (when Addison came back) and thinks we'll just slide through... but there's no way b/c this is so different and we are so much more invested and the only reason we got through then was by hanging on to every little savory moment and look b/t Mer and Der... she just can't really be trying to split them, right? But, Rose, you saw her, right? Could the Der that we all know and love really go for her? Sure she put this edgy foot forward, but that's not what Der's attracted to. He noticed her-- not good. But I don't think that was what the whole episode was about. And at the end of the day, Der was with Mer. I'm telling you it's going to be bumpy. It's not going to be fun. Oh, and trisha-- when I saw that song title I got that gut-wrenching feeling too-- but then I remembered that Sydney was actually breaking up with Der, so to speak-- so, that could be the reason for the song pick. Kathy, I can not believe all the comments that you read that were dissing MerDer and calling them boring? Who are these people? They must be absolutely crazy! And I too, took PD's interview positively. He didn't say MerDer was done. He said he was looking forward to them growing realistically. That does not mean they are definitely done. All those people who commented so negatively just give up too easy! Rose-- I'm so sorry that you can't bear to watch it-- will you at least reconsider? It won't be pretty or fun, but it will be Meridith and Derek. Maybe apart a bit, maybe a mess, but it will be Meredith & Derek. I mean, they are fantastic together. They are fantastic individual characters too. And in the history of the show, whenever they are apart we still get those moments-- the looks, the indirect conversations... the reassurance that they still love each other and are connected even when they don't want to be.
