Losing My Mind
Baby..Booo -- Rose was telling Der off a bit, saying that she slept with him and then from that time on he was making her stressed about it-- questioning herself, needing processed sugar... so basically Der told her that they're not the fairy tale. He doesn't want the drama, he's had that. He just wants to have a nice time. A fun time. Enjoyable, so let's go to dinner. Then she took his hand and they left together.

Kathy-- I know exactly what you mean-- I'm sad today too. All of us who need to believe in MerDer and need the MerDer magic are sad. Is it crazy? Well, maybe. But if it is, I'm in the crazy house with you! Seriously, I really feel sad today. I think it's because we can all relate. We've all been there on some level at some point. It's that same sadness. Hats off to the actors-- EP & PD, to evoke that real sadness in us-- that is truly great acting!

Losing My Mind
OK,
So, I, like Kathy was so disappointed not to have the sweet MerDer moments that I was so hoping to have, BUT I know it's all growing pains. What Mer went through tonight was draining. What Der went through tonight was also draining, but more because he has a very bad view of what Mer might be thinking of their love. He is in an unsure place. Mer is in a scary place. But it is EXACTLY where she needs to be going. I just wish that at the end Der was going to find Mer, not taking Rose's hand and walking out the door. And how pathetic is Rose? Der just told her their not having the fairy tale, they're not having anything real-- just light and fun for now. And she says OK and grabs his hand? Well, since she is the girl who is so in love with him that she was blurting it to his ex-love's sister, she certainly is willing to accept much less than she's willing to give. Not that I had much respect for her before, but whatever respect might have been there is vanished. And Der, well Der is just trying to survive the not knowing-- the possibility that his soul mate and true love never believed in their love. That is tough.
Oh, but Mer-- I was SO proud of Mer. This is a courage coming to in a noncourageous person. That is SO HARD. Big strdes for her. And her doctor is doing GREAT. Love what she is doing. Mer is such an emotional person, so taking the tough love kind of stance has got to feel risky, even for a psychiatrist, with a person like Mer.
I was sad tonight. But that is what is needed to get to where we're going.
On the good note-- I liked Christina's angry, out-of-character behavior tonight. She's doing what she needs to be doing. I loved Lexie. Lexie rocked on all counts tonight. And George. Sweet, sweet George. Loving watching him gain success, no matter how small the increments. Loving to watch him work so hard.
Izzie is in a tough place. Alex? My heart is breaking for Alex.
I look forward to next week and am keeping the faith that Shonda's word will hold true and MerDer will find their way back to each other next week... but PLEASE Shonda-- give us some to soak up-- not just the final 5 minutes!

Losing My Mind
Trisha-- I was having the same problems, now, like Baby..Boo says, I have to log in each time I post (or each day)... and sometimes, I can't view all the postings.
Kathy-- thanks for the link. I was trying to post earlier today and couldn't, for whatever reason. It's kind of strange the way PD says he doesn't know what happens to Rose, don't you think? Now my curiosity is peaked. Although I guess she can stay... so long as she does not interfere with MerDer!!!
sportsgurl2389-- Callie & Erika... really? Hhmmmm.... maybe for sport to mess with McSteamy? Doesn't seem likely that it would be real just because Callie seems so interested in men. Back in the day, a couple of my girlfriends used to kiss each other just to get the guys attention-- they thought it was funny. And this week's sneak peaks definitely look like Callie & Erika are messing with Marks newfound resolve to be more than just McSteamy.
Well, am a SO looking forward to tonight-- the MerDer moments and seeing what happens with Alex. Oh, and watching Christina come back to life. Is it 9pm yet?

Wow, Kathy-- thanks so much for that PD quote about EP! You've got to know for MerDer to be so magical that there has to be some basic emotional connection between the actors themselves.
I see your point about Mer making the first move & I agree-- Mer does need to be the first to move back to Der, even despite Der's mistakes, because she's the one holding back, being afraid to love him, being a "coward" as her therapist has pointed out.
Do you think we could lose Rose this epi? Oh, I hope so... any idea on how many epis the actress is signed on for?

Thanks for the link Kathy. I loved the sneak peaks, especial Mer and Lexie. Lexie rocks in that scene! I love the way the therapist comes out and says 2:00 OK? And Mer is just yah, OK! Lexie is key to Mer figuring things out. Lexie, even though she can seem young, inexperienced and whimpy at times is obviously much tougher than her exterior leads us to believe!
Great stuff to come!

GAAddicted - I love that you mentioned Izzie and George! LOVE them - together or apart-- love them either way! I know plenty of posters occassionally claim to be annoyed by Izzie, but I love her-- she's a great character. I'm really excited about Shonda's plans to let Izzie grow and find some peace. I'd love to see Izzie just be alone for a while (no love interest) and have Izzie just get to know Izzie. And George-- George is amazing. George with all the potential. George with all the heart. Watching George gain confidence in himself-- now that will be rewarding to see, I think.
Oh, and I forgot to say before-- I am very excited about Christina and the changes she is going through-- Sandra Oh is truly amazing. It is good to see Christina come back to life and hopefully find that there is life after Burke and she is better and stronger for having made it through all of it!

Losing My Mind
It all sounds intriguing... what to look forward to most? This week will most certainly provide insight into Alex Karev-- I am looking forward to watching Alex unravel and see a glimpse of what's underneath.
Can't wait to see Dr. Wyatt push Meredith, and, of course, I live for every interaction, no matter how small, between Mer and Der-- and we all know there's great things in store for us!
Shonda has said that Season 4 Part 2 is about Courage-- personal courage. I am ready to see Meredith couragously put herself out there. She's such an amazing, warm and caring character... but also cautious. Sieze the day, Mer-- we are all waiting and watching breathlessly.
Did anyone else find they were holding their breath almost the whole episode last week, because it was just so darn amazing???

The Becoming
Baby..Boo-- there will be more Greys next year-- have no fear!!!! The actors are all signed on for 7 years contract and there's been no talk of cancelling, especially with the effort that's being made to lift up the show even more.
ajack-- as a parent, I see your point-- this is a battle all across television when it comes to kids, especially teenagers. I don't think teenagers are the target audience for Greys. As for teenagers watching it? It's the parents job to know what their kids are watching and make decisions about limiting what that watch (and follow through with those limits). It is my belief that the target audience here is adults-- aiming towards the 30+ crowd.
luv4whedon-- I totally agree about the soldiers story mirroring MerDer and how they could end up... I know Mer was definitely touched by them.
Kathy-- good to hear you loved it! I always love your comments about MerDer!
