Sara Ramirez's Dangerous Diet
This made me so sad. Why the media has been allowed to get away with imposing narrow standards of beauty on people I will never understand. It is so irresponsible. I think SR is totally beautiful yet even she has struggled with weight issues most of her adult life. Imagine what it must feel like if you're not a blonde size 0. No wonder so many young people have problems with body image and low self esteem. As far as I'm concerned it is a damning depiction of just how shallow some peoples ideas of beauty remain. Yet another reason to laud the incomparable Shonda Rhimes and Greys.Posted 12/9/2006 1:00:00 AM # -
Can we talk about non-Greys stuff?
Its okay if we are not to. But if we are...can I kick off by saying how much I enjoyed the latest Bond movie - Casino Royale? Did you guys see it? What do you think?Posted 12/9/2006 1:00:00 AM # -
a place to talk till January
Hi sis BB! Lol! It's great that we are on the same wavelength about lots of issues and also think "y'know that Burke guy is kinda hotttt! Lol. So your Mum is english then? That's so amazing, what a fun, unexpected world we live in. Sheffield is a lovely place in Yorkshire..or "up North" as a southerner would say. Very lush countryside and many historic houses and churches. It's also home to one of our foremost cutlery makers. It's funny I have only ever been to Ireland once - yet its a one hour flight away. Ireland is very rugged and beautiful and the people are so welcoming I'm sure you will love it. I know many Americans visit especially those who have roots there. I met quite a few American families on my trip - to Shannon and Galway - who were looking up family.Posted 12/9/2006 1:00:00 AM # -

rose I like shipwrecks too and will watch any documentary about the Titanic. One of the first books I remember reading was little women and I was devastated when he married Amy instead of Jo. Oh well, enough about that. I have just been on bangsanatomy so feel a little heady after viewing previously unseen photos of Burke. Think I will lie down for a bit..or get a cup of tea.Posted 12/9/2006 1:00:00 AM # -

When his name was first announced as the new Bond I admit to feeling disappointed - I had never watched any movie of his prior to that but his name came up in the tabloids quite a bit, most notably when he dated the model Kate Moss. So i was like...mmm this won't work. But you know what? He is fantastic in the role and key to it's success is that he is simply an excellent actor. Though blond he is very masculine as you said and is also very sexy. Not conventionally goodlooking at all, but definitely gives off that aura of danger and excitement crucial to the Bond persona.Posted 12/9/2006 1:00:00 AM # -

a place to talk till January
Hi everyone, so sorry I have not been responding to posts; I had an exam to take ( over 2 days) and lots of preparing before then..I will try to answer the posts I missed but bear with me, there are many pages to scroll through! The pleasurable anticipation I felt as I logged in melted away as I read about the possibility that Burke would be killed off. Why does this rumour continue to linger? Can there be any truth in this? Surely everyone has moved on from this including the executives at abc; besides who does not make mistakes? I'm sure that IW will take care not to get into any kind of arguments with his co-workers ever again.Leave him be, noone wants to lose their job.Posted 12/8/2006 1:00:00 AM # -

rose I love history too - especially about the lives of people who lived in the Victorian era; I adore period architecture, not neccesarily listed or important buildings and historical books. Purplemerder it's so cool that you have lived in England as a child; whereabouts where you based? I live in the green, leafy borough of Hertfordshire which is just North of London and I love it.The countryside is minutes away but if you're having a night out or want to shop you do not have far to go. Luckily my daughter goes to a good school; a few are not so great anymore. Going to a private school is costly though. Its interesting that you do social work - I work with social workers quite often and appreciate the good work they do. Brianna - fear not, I doubt I could behave in a calm manner if I met IW, I'd want to steal him away too!Posted 12/3/2006 1:00:00 AM # -
