Burktine, Prestina, BANG!!
Hey, MJ. You are so right. They will work out the personal/professional thing. It just may take a few bumps in the road before they figure it out. They actually make a great team. I could see him being Chief and her the head of cardiothoracic surgery at some point in the future.Posted 2/14/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Walk On Water
Hot4Dempsey, I don't remember having bashed Derek. I like him. He's not my favorite, but I like him. I don't care for TR Knight, but I do like George. The only character that I really don't like is Izzie and that is because of things the character has done apart from things Katherine Heigl has done. I used to like her and maybe I will again, but right now she is my least favorite. Regardless, I would not want to see any of them die because someone loves each and every one of the original characters and Addison and Mark, too. You seem to have the most difficulty of the regular people on this web of moving on. I do respect other peoples' opinions when they actually have one. In your opinion, what possible reason would there be for Burke dying in this weeks episode? What forecasting has there been in the show that would lead you to make that statement? If you read the spoilers on eonline you would know that this entire series of episodes was shot before the Golden Globes ever happened. If the only thing you can point to is an off set squabble that has apparently been resolved by the cast or is in the process of being resolved, why bring him up? You're right, of course, any one of the main characters could be the one who dies, but you didn't mention anyone else. Just Burke and not because of anything the character has done on the show, but because you don't like the actor. You have made that clear in many, many posts. There have been plenty of comments made about Burke the character some positive and some negative and sometimes I say my perspective on it and sometimes I don't. If you want to be angry with me for being a vocal fan of Isaiah and call me names and swear, you obviously can, but I hope you remember there are young people on this forum, too. It doesn't make your point any more valid to use profain language. I was hoping to help Meredith fans not to be so worried when I posted on this thread. For the most part I enjoy reading people's thoughts on the show. Some of the posts are really insightful and clearly show the love that people have for these characters. Those are the ones I enjoy reading the most.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Walk On Water
To all of the posters on this thread. I apologize for any discomfort my exchange with hot4dempsey has caused. I agree. It is not the purpose of the forum. Mcdreamyslove, I am trying to figure out the little girl, too. At first I thought she was Izzie's too. I didn't know how old Izzie's little girl would be and we know she still lives in the Seattle area. She has blonde hair and brown eyes like Izzie. So, it seemed reasonable, plus I think we all know that at some point Izzie's daughter is going to reappear. But, then I read somewhere that Izzie's daughter would be about 11. I don't think that little girl looked old enough. In the Podcast Shonda talks about the little girl being a metaphor for Meredith. I'm not quite sure what that means. She represents Meredith as a child, but I don't know what part that plays in the events. I couldn't really tell for sure if she was real or in Meredith's mind. I found it hard to believe the paramedic would simply walk away and leave the little girl there. When Derek asked. "Is she alright?" I wasn't sure if he was referring to the little girl or the woman on the gurney. The man with the injured leg didn't acknowledge her, but he was in pain. So in each case it was not clear whether the little girl was real. I think she is going to lead Derek to Meredith, but I still don't know if she is real. If I get past the worry about Meredith, I am looking forward to the resolution of this episode in the next two and have my fingers crossed that what ever happens brings Meredith and Derek closer together. Burke and Cristina, too.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Rose, I love that scene from Season one in the oncall room, too. It was sweet because you can tell that Burke wants this to be a relationship. He isn't comfortable with it being all about sex. He is falling in love with her. That's why he asks what are we doing here. She, on the other hand, hasn't thought about it like that quite yet. She is perfectly content to have it be just a hot affair. It is a struggle they will continue to have until she realizes that she loves him, too. I don't think she really understands that until the bomb episodes and she comes so close to losing him. I was thinking of you on Sunday night when I watched this episode again and wondered if you were watching. Those were kind of happy Bang episodes as they were just figuring each other out and everything was new for them.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

Hi Rose, you are so observant. Now that you mention it, that is just exactly how he smiles. Like he is not sure he has permission. That reminds me of the episode in the car after Thanksgiving dinner when she tells him about removing the foreign object from the guys esophogus. I love that smile that just kind of slowly spreads across his face. I agree with you that the thing that keeps him from being arrogant and makes him likeable to me is the fact that he is unsure when he's with her. There is a scene coming up when he asks her on a date and she shoots him down and it is so painful to watch. But you can see it on his face that he isn't sure she will say yes. He is just hopeful. This scene comes after she finds out she is pregnant and before he knows.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Sky, I think the spoiler says they are going to have a big blow up over announcing the engagement. I think Cristina wiill be upset if something happens to Meredith so that she can't tell her about the engagement and everyone else finds out because Burke told Derek. They may have an argument about that, but I don't believe they will break up. Not permanently. They have been through too much with their love still strong to break up over that.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

Hi Iloveyouhateyou_MTC, I love the syph scene too. Thanks for the Coffee still rules, LOL, but I love the syph scene. It was so cute when they both realized that they were exclusive. Loved it.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Purplemerder! It's good to hear from you. I am sorry that hot4dempsey is so angry, too, and also sorry to have taken the bait. I am just tired of her same old story. I wish she would focus her venom on someone else for a change other than Isaiah. If she wants to direct it towards me, that's okay. I have strong shoulders. I just want her to get off of his case. It is too much for too long. I know you have always counselled me not to respond to the nasty comments, but the more he is attacked the more I feel like I have to defend him. Just when it feels like it is dying down again, something happens to bring the hatefulness out again. Now it is a death in a major character. I don't believe Meredith will be gone or more than a few minutes. So who is going to die and have it stick? My money is still on Ellis. The actress is just too good to be on GA in a bit part. Any way, I am sorry for discomfort on the other thread.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
Walk On Water
So, she is a real little girl that just reminds Meredith of herself. I wonder where the little girl's family is? In one of the episode guides it said something about a little girl in the waiting room alone waiting for her mother who is in surgery. Do you think it could be the pregnant woman that Alex pulled out from under the pylon? She kept trying to tell Alex something and Alex kept reassuring her about her unborn child. Maybe she was trying to ask about her daughter. If she is real and she tells Derek what happened to Meredith, I think he will rescue her. I really liked what some of the posters were saying about having Meredith rescue herself. She has said things like that before that you can't wait for someone else to rescue you but that you have to save yourself. So, I'm torn. She can rescue herself or Derek can rescue her. Either way she has to be saved.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
I agree, Rose. That is the thing. Her character has grown so much. Yes, she still has the issues with her father dying and her mother not understanding her. She was driven and selfish and without compassion. Some of the changes I think can be attributed to Burke but others I think are just her own growth. She and Meredith recognized a common bond right from the start. Her emotional response to Nurse Fallon let us know that she wasn't nearly as hard and cold as she pretended to be. She has always had a kind of childish side to her. The hot dog contest, wanting to beat Chief, her abandon at Izzie's party. I love that Burke is the only one who has challenged her to make a commitment in a relationship. It is fun to see her rise to the challenge each time the gauntlet is thrown down. It's always a negotiation and kind of fun to watch. He doesn't want her to change, he just wants her to move in. He doesn't realize that by moving in she has to change. It's the same now with the engagement. He doesn't want her to change he just wants her to marry him. Again he doesn't realize how much change in her that will require and how much change she has already accomplished. I'm not so sure that it isn't that way between most men and women. We love each other we just don't always get each other.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM #
