New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
So many of you have been supportive of Isaiah Washington and the character of Preston Burke over the past years. You can imagine that I am really sad, disappointed and angry, as are many of you, I am sure. It is devastating that after all that he has tried to do to make amends he has now been let go. Learning from our mistakes and taking steps to change in a postive way is apparently not appreciated by those out to destroy him. I thought some of you might be interested in a project that the organizers of BangsAnatomy.com and the More than Coffee message board are doing to honor Isaiah. It began as a project for his August 3rd birthday, but now has even more significance. As some of you may know, he is very involved in making life better for the people of his native country, Sierra Leone. He is currently building a school and has provided medical supplies and basic necessitites to the people there. He also participated in the summit in Washington DC to wipe out malaria earlier in the year. To honor him we are collecting donations to purchase mosquito nets to help really save lives in Sierra Leone. I am posting the description of the project here. For anyone interested in contributing, please contact Vella at vcbellaart@yahoo.com. We are trying to turn something really horrible that has happened to him and by proxy to us into something positive that will make him proud of his fans, as we are proud of him. Although malaria has been eradicated in most of Asia, Europe and the Americas, this disease still kills millions on the continent of Africa. In fact, statistics show that 3,000 children die from this disease every day. The most devastating fact is that these deaths are unnecessary and preventable. Insecticide-treated bed nets can reduce the transmission of malarias much as 90 percent. Each bed net can provide at least four years of protection from the disease. Unfortunately, those living in poverty-stricken areas simply cannot afford these life-saving bed nets, even though the purchase and delivery cost of these nets is only $10 per net. The staff of Bangsanatomy.com and the members of More Than Coffee have made a commitment to make a difference in one of the countries in Africa plagued by this disease: Sierra Leone. From (June 1, 2007) to (July 31, 2007), we will be collecting donations. Your tax-deductible donations will go to the Gondobay Manga Foundation (www.gondobaymanga.org). Founded in 2006, the Gondobay Manga Foundation “advocates cooperative planning to achieve positive, timely improvements in the lives of the people of Sierra Leone.” The funds raised by our efforts will help the Foundation to "build schools, secure clean water, provide medical care, rebuild hospitals, and supply chemically treated bed nets that prevent malaria for thousands of villagers in Sierra Leone." Please join us as we take steps to really save lives and help the Gondobay Manga Foundation make their dream for Sierra Leone's future a reality. This is something we can do for Isaiah since our letters of support and letters to ABC and Shonda Rhimes have fallen on deaf ears.Posted 6/11/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Guys. Have you seen the great pictures on abcmedianet.com? They are from episode 3.22, I think. There is a great Bang kiss. If you haven't seen them, go to www.abcmedianet.com, click on primetime, then Greys Anatomy, then photographs. So cute!Posted 4/10/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

The magazine is awesome. I loved the interview with Isaiah and the article about Sandra. Lots of wonderful pictures of our couple. Now these great pictures for the upcoming new episodes leading up to the wedding. I hope all doesn't go too smoothly though because, well, you know Shonda. It if is all too smooth you know something angsty will happen at the wedding. I just want them to both be happy right through the end of this season. Let someone else have the angst for awhile. Right?Posted 4/10/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

Hi Everyone, Still not able to access the forum, but when I leave a message I can see what is on that page. So I am leaving one so that I can see what you are discussing on page 79.Posted 4/9/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

I really hope the wedding will go off, but Shonda never does anything without a hitch, so I am expecting some sticky moments before the vows are actually exchanged. I am excited though about the wedding. I hope we don't get to see Cristina on a spoiler before the wedding. I want to be surprised by her gown. Hopefully Burke will wear a black tux because he looks so good all dressed up. The next few weeks it will be interesting to see how Cristina goes from a small wedding with the Justice of the Peace and only Meredith and Shepherd as witnesses, to a church wedding with bridesmaids, etc. I'll bet she does not wear mosquito netting over her face, LOL. The highlight show this Thursday sounds kind of good. I am sure "Thanks for the Coffee" will be in it. If it's not there is something seriously wrong.Posted 4/9/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Wow! There are now 15 pages on this forum that I can't access. I miss you guys and have sent an email to GAI to let them know that I get an error message and can't access the forum. It is the same thing that happened to me on the old BUrketina thread. Anyway, just want to make sure that you all know that the new edition of the Gry's Anatomy Magazine is out and that Burke and Cristina are on the cover and also have a full page center spread. There is a very nice interview with pictures of Isaiah Washington and a nice article about Sandra Oh. It is so worth the price for Burketina fans.Posted 4/8/2007 1:00:00 AM # -

Page 63 is still the last page I can access on this thread. I am so sorry. I miss talking to you guys. But there are 14 pages after this one that I just get an error message on when I try to open them. It makes it hard to know what the current conversation is about.Posted 4/3/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi everyone, I can't access the forum yet again. It is so disheartening. I can't pull up any pages past page number 63. I don't know why this keeps happening. The last post I can read is the one by you Burketinaforever talking bout little Burke's and Cristinas. Isaiah said they would have some little Tiger Woods running around eventually, so I don't think that is out of the question for next season. I can just imagine the storylines around a Cristina pregnancy especially after her surgery. Then a pregnant Cristina would be entertaining, not to mention delivery. I can just see Burke all nervous and expectant fatherly. Then the issues of career and family. Anothe excuse to have the mamas back on. Sigh. Guess I am getting ahead of myself a little bit. I am excited about the wedding though and there better not be any hesitation in the "I dos".Posted 3/30/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Rose, Burketina Forever, and everyone else too. I am so happy to hear Kristen has changed her spoilerish ways and is now reporting that our couple will get married. I am so happy about that. I counted the comments on the abc writer's blog after the episode when Colin Marlow came and Cristina began to doubt and there were more than 250 comments saying they didn't want them to break up and to please let them be happy and only 26 that said something negative about Burke, mainly, or Cristina, or them as a couple, and I didn't even get to the end. So there were clearly far more fans wanting them to make up and stay together. I could be wrong because Shonda likes to keep us guessing anyway, but I really think they made the whole relationship up in the air while they negotiated Isaiah's contract. They made it feasible to go either way with their relationship. If Isaiah left, they could break up Cristina and Burke. If Isaiah stayed they could mend the riff and have them move ahead to marriage. So I saw last week's episode as being a huge reassurance that Isaiah is staying on the show. I also have to say that Sandra and Isaiah looked really happy and comfortable in that last scene. I know they are actors and really good ones at that, but I still couldn't help but think that things were good between them again in that scene. I loved the playfulness. Burtina Forever I thought about you when Cristina made her voice drop low when she said "I know you are spiritual and all", so funny. I also loved the sounds they made. When she crawled over him she made a kind of ummm sound like, yes this feels right, I am coming home. And he made a kind of hummm sound like, huh? what are you up to now. Then at the end when he pulled her into his arms he made kind of a hummmm sound like, relief, kind of a yes, we are right where we need to be. We talk alot about how much they convey without words,or with a look, but this past episode I think they conveyed a lot with their sighs. Rose, I love bangsanatomy.com because there are other Burke and Cristina fanatics there who are so dedicated to and invested in this couple. Some are really bright and knowledgable about both the characters and the actors and I feel like some have become friends, so I enjoy talking with them. But, I also have friends on this website and I miss you all if I stay away too long. Burktina Forever, I agree. It would be great to have their wedding before the finale so that it isn't a cliff hanger. The next episode will be 3.20 right? I read somewhere that the spin off episodes will be 3.23 and 3.24 and that they will be shown back to back on the same night and that 3.25 is the finale for this season. So that means the wedding could be 3.20, 3.21, or 3.22. I think next week might be a little soon, but Kristen tends not to know things beyond the next episode and only what Shonda wants to leak. So if she is talking about a wedding, it could be next episode. (PS, I agree about hot Burktina sex. Foot sex is nice and all, but they are really hot together when given the chance.)Posted 3/24/2007 1:00:00 AM # -
New BURKTINA, PRESTINA, BANG!
Hi Burketinafanforlife, I agree with your statement, "YAY!!!!!!!!!!! For them being happy again. The old bang is back with a little something extra that I can’t explain!!!!", I could feel that little something extra too and I think it is that Sandra and Isaiah are right again. It has been a really hard few months on the set, but this past week it just felt like they loved working together again. I really hope that is true because I would like to see them together for as long as GA is on the air.Posted 3/24/2007 1:00:00 AM #
