  1. Grey's Anatomy Photo Gallery: "Holidaze"

Where on earth are you people getting this whole Teddy splitting Calzona up thing? Because I'm not seeing it. I don't think Owen actually said her friend was male or female, but even if he did say it was a woman, that doesn't automatically make it her girlfriend. It could have been her best friend from childhood or something. Arizona liking her scrub cap and saying "I like her" doesn't mean that she's going to going running after her. It means that she might have finally found a friend of her own from the hospital. She and Teddy seem to be of the same personality (fairly happy people who are serious about their jobs). And if you watched the episode, you would see that Teddy has serious feelings for Owen. Even if she is bi (which I've seen no evidence of period), I don't think they're going to be running from her caring deeply for Owen to "hey, here's a happy coupled up lesbian, let me seduce her". Come on people. I love Arizona and Callie together too, but I just don't see what everybody is going on about.

If you were Alex, would you really want to be hanging out with all the happy cheerful couples while your wife's run out on you and you're stuck with her medical bills? My question is where's Callie and Adele? I see Arizona and the Chief, surely they didn't leave their better (literally) halves home?
  3. "Elevator Love Letter" Sneak Preview

TDS, thank you for your thoughtful, well-stated personal opinion. I understand how you feel. I'll try to write a post that runs contrary to popular opinion on here and I either get ignored or attacked. I happen to like several relationships that aren't well-liked apparently (Mexie, A/I, etc.) and sometimes just mentioning how cute I thought they were in a particular episode gets me posts commenting on how I must be an idiot, immature, etc. to like such a couple, how incestuous, abusive, etc. said couple is and so forth. It's gotten to the point where some of the time I don't even post because I don't feel the need to have my opinion savaged by other people. I don't write that anyone needs to "love" my couples more than others, and I don't attack the other couples beyond stating why I personally don't care for them, but that doesn't seem to stop people on this site. Who knows, I might get blasted for this post, for stating that I'm tired of getting tirades just for stating my opinion. Go figure. It's amazing how normal adults can get so vicious and worked up over characters that don't exist.

Everyone keeps saying they don't understand why Izzie didn't tell George herself. Well I do. Imagine your best friend, the person you care about, that you empathize with and share with, who supposedly knows you better then anyone else. Now imagine telling that person that you had stage 4 malignant cancer that had spread to your liver, skin and brain. That you probably only had a few months to live. That the treatment was intensive, painful and only gave you a five percent survival shot. Can you imagine telling someone you loved that? Imagine what that would do to your best friend. How heartbreaking it would be. I'm not saying she wouldn't have ever told him, but I'm saying she would have put it off as long as possible, because she didn't want to put that burden off on him. Or really any of them.
  5. "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" Promo

At first I thought it was odd that she goes to Cristina, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Izzie's scared right now, but she also knew something was wrong. She wants options, possible treatments, chances of survival rates. This is information Cristina can give her. If she goes to Alex or George, they're going to go all emotional on her, inspirational "you can fight this stuff". That's not bad, but it's not what she's looking for right now either. I watched the video that greysaddiction posted the link to for Izzie and George fans. I always preferred Izzie with Alex romantically, but her and George's friendship meant the world to me. Watching this video will remind you of how wonderful it was and how ridiculous they're playing it out now. I don't know what's going on with the actors, writers, producers, etc., whether someone's being a drama queen (or king). But I know that the viewers that keep this show in the ratings deserve more from this friendship then what we've been given lately.

Arizona did kiss Callie, but after she found out that Callie had only been with one other woman, she turned down the date Callie offered her because she said Callie "had no experience and was a newborn". When Callie came up to her at the bar and started pointing out everything she had to offer, Arizona pointed out that she was with a date.

This was actually a very intense, but good episode. I like seeing Gizzie again. I liked the debate between Meredith and Alex on who's "guy" was right. I liked seeing Mark get up the courage to come clean to Derek about Lexie. I liked seeing them take a twist with the whole Callie-Arizona story. I liked seeing Callie stick up for herself and what she has to offer. I liked seeing Bailey tell the Chief off. And I loved the very wonderful moments between Cristina and Owen and when Dr. Campbell asked what Cristina would have left in forty years. This was a pretty excellent episode and I have to give kudos to the writers for once.

There was actually a Gizzie scene where he's trying to ask her for help because he's writing a recommendation for Bailey's peds residency application. Bailey was trying to get other stuff done and blew Izzie off and she was mad at Bailey, so she told George to write that Bailey was an ass. It was funny to be honest. We also got to see George interacting with Bailey which was great, because I always really liked their relationship. Oddly we didn't see much between Izzie and Alex this episode.
  10. "Wish You Were Here" Sneak Preview

This should annoy some people. I'm pro-death penalty and I agree with Cristina. The guy was judged. Not by the doctors, but by a jury of twelve peers who found him guilty. As shown in the preview, he's been turned down on all of his appeals. He wants to be paralyzed, just to avoid execution. I'm not really a fan of Derek's, but for once I agree with him. Meredith's too much of a Pollyanna for me, she thinks everyone deserves extra chances. I think that some people use their extra chances the first time they commit a truly vicious, cruel or inhumane crime and they SHOULD have to pay for it. No killing the person doesn't make you better then them. But why the heck should they get to live out the rest of their natural life living on free room and board at the local prison. Why should good people have to pay to keep these animals?
  11. Grey's Anatomy Round Table: "All By Myself"

    Rose Says:
    December 8th, 2008 10:28 PM

Pink could you not write in caps and could you write intelligibly? Really the Mexie fans have the reputation of being immature twits and you are confirming this with this message.

    Rose,
This isn't fair to all of the Mexie fans out there. I like Mexie, but I hardly think I'm an immature twit. I've never once bashed Gexie and have no intention of doing so. I think they are an adorable couple that the writers just don't seem to be letting work out. However I think that Mark and Lexie are cute together and it has the possibility of making them both grow up a little. I hardly think that's an "immature twittish" opinion, just mine. Some fans bashing Gexie doesn't give anyone the right to insult ALL Mexie fans. I agree that the fan in question has both terrible grammar and punctuation/capitalization skills, but that doesn't mean all Mexie fans do. Just wanted to mention this.
  12. Grey's Anatomy Round Table: "All By Myself"

I agree that Cristina/Owen was pretty much the highlight of this episode. It was so simple, but so poignant. He was the only one who understood how bad a day she was having and did something about it. I'm not against Mark & Lexie, but it does seem like they're writing her to sound stupid and "innocent". And the person who said that Mark goes after self-confident women was completely on target. Personally I wish they would get rid of Denny, Sadie, and Dr. Dixon, give more screentime to MerDer and George and give Callie a real storyline instead of this stupid "no hot interns" junk they've been writing for her. Sara Ramirez is too good an actress for this stuff.
  13. Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Callie and Arizona?

Here's the thing. I'm fine with the Callie as bisexual/lesbian thing. I think her relationship with Erica was very well portrayed (in the beginning) especially building the friendship first. And then about three episodes into season 5, I think they threw it to hell. First off was Callie running to Erica going "I slept with Sloan, I might never see leaves". Creepy and how many people admit they might have cheated on each other? Then the absolute ridiculous fight between them over Izzie and Hahn just absolutely disappearing. Unrealistic to the extreme. Now all of a sudden, after weeks of agonizing over her sexuality, she starts drooling the minute an intern smiles at her? Seriously people? Callie is not a, well I guess we'd say "persson" hopper now. Her relationship with George was built up slowly, same with Erica and Mark and her's relationship has been a long process. Callie never just jumped around from person to person (unlike some characters I could name, but won't). I'm fine with her being with girls, but I'm not fine with her suddenly being a giant flirt going after any pretty blonde that winks at her. It's ridiculous and completely out of character.
  14. Grey's Anatomy Forum: "All By Myself"

I think it's great that Alex got it. He actually talked like a surgeon, telling Cristina what he was going to do and how he had done it before. Everyone else was like "give me the surgery cause I'm your friend and a good person". Whoopee! I think Cristina made a good choice.
  15. Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Izzie-Denny Twist Revealed!

Does anyone else think that Cristina had a point about Meredith not being able to seperate her personal and professional life? I'm sure I'm going to get yelled at for picking on Meredith, but seriously. Izzie came to Cristina and told her about great sex, George came and told her he's grown as a doctor (don't get me wrong, he really has), and Meredith said pick me cause I deserve it. But Alex came to her and told her exactly what he would do and how he's done it before. She picked Alex because he was the only one who talked like a surgeon, not a friend. The thing people are forgetting is that this isn't just a solo surgery, it's a patient. A patient with leg cancer who needs an amputation. Cristina is literally putting that guy's life in one of their hands and she choose the person she believed knew what he was doing. I'm so sick of the Dizzie storyline. I was glad to see George talking to Alex about Izzie, even if he got defensive. And it was nice to see Alex turn to Meredith when he was freaking out about the surgery and Izzie not being there. I've mentioned before how much I love the Alex/Meredith friendship and how we don't see much of it anymore. Totally hate Sadie/Callie. It's just wrong.
  16. "These Ties That Bind" From the Writer's Point of View

I've heard some comments on other boards that Callie crying over Erica leaving was unrealistic, because she had more of a relationship with George, and didn't seem that upset when they split. The thing is, Callie knew something was wrong with George and her's relationship. She knew it was on the rocks, and I don't think it came as much of a surprise when it finally ended. In Erica's case, their relationship had barely begun, they were just in the first steps. And then they have one major fight, and Erica just disappears on her. No make-up, no goodbyes, nothing, she just leaves. No wonder it broke Callie up so much. It's one thing to lose a relationship you know isn't working and hasn't been for a while (e.g. her and George), it's another for someone to just abandon you when you've only begun getting to know one another. Also Callie and Erica weren't just lovers, they were friends first, something she never had with George. So she lost out in two ways. Just my opinion, but I thought it should be mentioned, since so many people seem to think the Grey's writers just put it in there for stupidity or something.
  17. "All By Myself" Sneak Previews

I agree that Cristina's lack of teaching skills (to the interns) contributed to them starting the club. But as Cristina pointed out, they ALL had interns in that room. All five of the residents (our original five) weren't teaching the way they should have. And yes, Cristina was aware they were up to something, but all she knew about were the sutures and she told them to shut it down. And Cristina assumed they would, because she's scary for one, and because she thought they'd realize how stupid it was. There's no way Cristina could have made the leap from "they're making tiny cuts and putting in stitches" to "hey, let's take out an appendix". The interns should have far more punishment then they seem to be getting, especially Sadie. Lexie at least tried to back out of it before it went too far. But if I was the Chief, I'd have already kicked Sadie out of the program. As far as the age difference between Mark and Lexie, anyone who's done the math knows that age seems to fly out the window when it comes to Grey's hookups. Don't hate on Mark for doing basically the same thing Derek is doing, or that Addison and Alex did/Burke and Cristina did. For that matter, I'm willing to bet there was a decent age difference between Izzie and Denny. It doesn't mean we don't love the couples anyways. Sorry this is so long, just needed to rant!
  18. Grey's Anatomy Forum: "In the Midnight Hour"

I think it's going to be amazing, whatever it is. We finally get to see Cristina being interested in pursuing a relationship, instead of the other way around. I think she's finally ready to open up the possibility of being with someone.
  19. Grey's Anatomy Forum: "In the Midnight Hour"

There were two sweet moments between Cristina and Owen. One when she showed up at the hospital and he was waiting on a trauma, and he was all word-less (in his words, later) and finally asked how she got there so fast. She told him she lived across the street. At the end of the episode, she walks home and he's sitting on her steps. She asks if he wants to come in and he says he doesn't think it would be appropriate. She asks if he wants to go somewhere and he says no. So she just sits down beside him. He stares at her for a moment and then tells her "I think you're beautiful). She doesn't say anything and it just switches to another scene with them just sitting there. A very quiet but lovely moment.
  20. Grey's Anatomy Forum: "In the Midnight Hour"

I think this was a much better written episode than last week's, the Dizzie situation aside. In an interview for TV Guide last summer, Shonda said that the biggest love story this season was going to be between Meredith and Cristina, the journey that their friendship takes. I think we're beginning to see part of that. And I think that maybe the residents (the original five interns) are finally going to step up and start taking responsibility for their interns, instead of letting them run loose like they have been. I also loved seeing more of George, the Bailey-Callie conversation, the tidbit we got of Sloan's past, and Derek bringing a "stray" home. I think it's great that someone is encouraging Meredith to form a relationship with her half-sister. I also liked how the Chief acknowledged how Meredith and Cristina have matured. I think next week's episode is going to be pretty interesting.
  21. Grey's Anatomy Caption Contest CXXXII

Sadie: So, this one time at band camp......
Derek: I'm not sure I want to know this.
Cristina: My god, she's like the Energizer Bunny. She just keeps going and going.
Alex: Hey, does this involve a flute?
