No hating. I'm starting to like Jackson/Cris more. Something is off with Hunt but he's annoying me. Needs redemption.
Also, the possibilities that Izzie might be actually pregnant are very slim. Remember that Izzie had IL2 treatments, those are stronger than chemo.
That being said, if you look on cancer sites, doctors recommend that a woman waits AT LEAST six months off cancer medications (chemo, IL2, radiation) before trying to conceive. Izzie has missed one dose and in GA timeline, she has been off medication for less than a month. In chemo treatments, you can have some (counted treatments) during the second trimester of the pregnancy. Izzie isn't doing chemo, she's doing IL2.
Also, another site suggested that in mice, IL2 doesn't has an infertile effect on a woman, however the percentage of live fetuses decreased. That means that if she is pregnant, she suffers a HUGE risk of miscarriage or stillborn birth.
Good episode. I like that Violet is feeling better. I don't think that I could take another breakdown but she still has a lot to go. Baby-wise, I mean.
Cooper and Charlotte? Slowly growing to be one of my favorite couples of tv.
I felt so sad for Addie after her patient died and that 'stupid cat is staring at me'. I'm loving her with a cat.
Naomi is hilarious. And good for her to stand her ground and not give the couple an unhealthy child. Good for her.
You might be right. Maybe Izzie's secret come out because of him. I like that theory. Is this why she lives again?
one,
It's almost impossible to feel out for Izzie when she is the one making the stupid decisions. Was it so hard for her to confront Alex right after she was fired? She doesn't get to leave just like that anymore, she's not on her own. She's married and has a husband. You don't do that to your spouse. If she needed to leave, she should have let Alex know personally. He deserves at leat that.
As far as I'm concerned only Mer, Cristina, and Lexie have real possibilities of being pregnant. I think in the preview she's asking Izzie but at this point, who knows? Previews are so deceiving.
I thought it was kinda eh. I guess that after last week, I had huge expectations for this one. I guess Arizona isn't still a strong character enough to carry the episode.
I LOVED Arizona practically calling all of Richard and Jenning's BS. Way to go!
I felt sorry for Callie and the surprise birthday party. They had made an effort. Kinda curious to see what happened to Mark that he doesn't like surprise bday parties.
Loved the cute little MerDer that we got. Or a little hotter at the end, LOL. Happy, married Mer. Gotta love her.
Alex is so damaged that the best thing he can do is to sit with that poor baby. I even started to like Reed better. It does seem that Alex might turn to Peds.
One question though: where is Bailey? Saw her like two minutes.
Next week doesn't look better. It's impossible that Izzie is pregnant. Plus, what's up with the attitude? She looks annoyed at everyone but Mer is back...and making out with Derek in the OR! That makes me happy.
Physically speaking, Izzie can't be pregnant. She missed a dose of IL2 but since she already had several IL2 treatments, she isn't fertile or strong enough to carry a baby.
Technically, she's infertile due to the treatments which is why they took her eggs out. She'd had to have IVF to have a baby and if she can't even afford to pay her cancer bills, much less the IVF. Plus, she'd had to stop IL2 and it meant that Izzie would die sometime soon, shortly after birth. Not a pretty picture.
There was a new preview released and it had MerDer and Derek in scrubs. I believe he'll have some sort of suspension but not effective until later or already has passed.
@does anyone know,
GA will end the year in 6.11, if I'm not wrong, the last episode will air on Dec 3rd. Last year, it ended the year in 5.10, so not that much of a difference. Maybe they'll have one more week of reruns or maybe a special like they had in S3? I miss those.
The entire marriage of Alex and Izzie was a mistake. Alex said so himself when he told her that they got married because they thought she was going to die. You don't marry someone else because of it. I believe that in the Denny case, Izzie had accepted his marriage proposal influenced by the fact that Denny could die, even after the transplant (and he did).
As much as the show has led us to believe that Izzie is the 'sane one' in the relationship area, she's just as lost as the others. Just when her relationship with Alex started to take off to a stable area, cancer hit. He stood by, showing that he was ready for a committed relationship but doesn't necessarily mean marriage.
I absolutely agree that Alex has always been second choice. Izzie never got over the fact that Alex had a mishap by cheating on her. While looking for her tumor in the wedding day, she said she'll always love Denny too. To me, it's illogical to say she'll love a dead man but wanting an alive man too. I really do hope that she gets her act together through this time because I honestly cannot take more sad eyes from her. It annoys me. She should be the one trying to win Alex back, not the other way.
I have a feeling that they'll get divorced but they won't break up. Also, the frozen eggs can't be used until Izzie stabilizes herself mentally and physically, otherwise she'll leave a husband and a baby behind. She can't be that selfish, right?
And to be fair, Izzie got the 'dream wedding' (not my style but whatever), Mer should have the first baby. Or I swear that I'll quit the show regardless of my love for it.
Derek is in the preview but I think he's still going to be reprimanded for the Isaac surgery with some sort of suspension, which might explain his absence.
At least MerDer are going to be spending some time at home together. ;) (McBaby!)
Call me naive but I don't see Reed as wanting Alex more than being incredibly sorry for him, as I am. I don't see that they'll be hitting it off soon but once Izzie is back, she needs to win Alex back. He can't accept her just like that.
I like Arizona so this might be interesting. I'm annoyed at the Chief already and the episode hasn't aired, LOL.
Very powerful episode. I have to applaud Violet's testimony. I wouldn't be able to that. I also liked that she finally recognized that Pete is also damaged from the attack. He's also hurt.
I love Charlotte King. I hate to admit it but she's hilarious, powerful, independent, clever woman. She can do anything. And Cooper is hilariously insecure. Poor guy. Love him too.
I was kinda eh on the moms and their unborn babies. Like the final Addie/Naomi scene. They're back to normal.
Reed is nice but in the last couple of episodes, everyone has been on the edge and in here, she finally let her guard down, which I loved! Can't say that I want them together or whatever but exactly in Derek's VO, the kindness of a stranger.
I agree that Alex shouldn't receive Izzie back that quick. He has fought for her, now let's turn the tables.
That makes me laugh. Is that the real reason that GA has been low on ratings? At least get facts straight. GA may not be winning nights but they win the demographic, to a point, more important than the numbers.
The Mentalist is a new show (they'll have high ratings either way) and GA has won CSI on some nights this season.
Officially my favorite episode of the season so far. That was beyond awesome. I loved it. Truly, truly, great episode.
I love Derek but I have to give most of the credit to the persistence of Isaac. If he hadn't been so positively showering Derek with his motivational belief that Derek could do this, I don't think Derek could've done this. Isaac is now on my list of favorite GA patients, LOL.
Derek did go rogue, with hesitation but rogue. Gotta love it. Especially that he still needed in a way to talk it over with Mer. She is usually on his side when doing rogue surgeries (Archer, clinical trial), so it's good to see that in a way, he still needs her for that. Adored the VO. It said a lot of him.
Lexie and Cristina were hilarious with their diaper issue. Funny. Also Arizona crying after she confronted the Chief. I liked it. Even Mark and Lexie were cute here.
LOVED the MerDer scenes, especially the ending. LOL. She was ready to celebrate, he fell asleep. Love those two. And we saw the post it.
I have to say that while the Chief is being a douche, I kind of want to know what's going on in his head. I hope we find out soon.
Oh, Derek isn't fired. He was in next week's promo. Relax. I think there's a fair chance that the Chief is getting fired first.
I liked the song at the end. If somebody knows it, can you please post it?
It's not the same. In ER, Sarah isn't Tony's daughter. Remember they did the paternity test later and resulted negative, which prompted the grandparents to sue for full custody.
Even if GA decides to go with the daughter storyline, it wouldn't be the same.
I think Derek will be Chief by the end of the season. Or as a replacement while Richard gets his act together. I feel someone is going to hit the bottle soon...
It is most likely to be a daughter. He's 40, she's 18. Most likely that the mom got pregnant at the height of his manwhore-ness (22).
Half sister isn't really doing it for me. Meredith already has two half sisters and supposedly, the love child (which I think it was a foiler after all)is still yet to come. The storyline would be repeated.
Besides, Mark said that he was raised by parents who weren't really interested in having kids. I think that Mark's parents didn't have any kids after him, especially after the Shepherds sort of adopted him.
I also don't think Mark is aware of his parent status either.
It's easy to assume that Derek wants a family just by the type of guy that he is. He has a huge family and if you recall in the 'I want to marry you' speech, he said he wanted to have kids with Meredith. In the Candle House, he reassured the statement of where the kids' playroom is, and finalizing with wanting Mer's crappy babies that was the reassurance needed for him to propose.
It's a safe bet that both want kids but timing is the issue in question here. IF they decide to have kids, it'll most likely be Derek the parent that'll take more responsibility since he's already an accomplished surgeon while Mer still struggles to become one. Not saying this will be the replay of Ellis/Mer but I think (or hope) it's the real issue for them, and the real reason behind SR not wanting the McBaby.
I think it HAS to happen because it'll be the parallel of how MerDer's kids are going to be raised differently than Mer was. SR once said that GA's story was Mer's transformation and parallel life from Ellis, and this would be the definitive moment of showing that Mer isn't Ellis and she is extraordinary surgeon and woman with a loving husband and kids. Ellis ended in a nursing home, Mer ends up in a happy home.
If the show ends up in S7 (or it ends for EP and PD), this could be their finale.
So, don't worry. MerDer aren't breaking up and there will be a McBaby. PD will fight for it, I'm sure. :)
