There's consequences for every action. Washington was out of line at work, and it was decided that due to his actions, tensions between actors were too high to keep everyone around. They had to make a decision, and since Washington instigated the problems, he had to go.
We all loved Dr. Burke, but he was just a character on the show, and we may not have liked Washington as much, considering what occurred. I'm no one to judge, as I don't have all the facts, but I do think they did the right thing, because actions have consequences regardless how many people like you.

I want to echo the bringing Burke back sentiment, he was the best.
A few weeks ago I would've agreed about bringing Burke back. But now Owen's here. And he's going to be great for Cristina.
In just a few episodes we've seen him challenge her emotionally and intellectually. We have seen a Cristina we hadn't seen before. And it's because of Owen. Even Burke and their love couldn't do that. So I'm okay with no Burke. As great as that was. This is a new era for Grey's Anatomy and Cristina Yang. I think we'll be seeing a major metamorphosis of character where she's concerned. And that's great compared to her basically doing nothing all of Season 4.

The show needs Dr. Burke. The place has no solid base and now with Hahn gone, there's no integrity! I like Owen and Christina, but that doesn't mean you can't bring Burke back. Please save this show. I fear the writers have gone rogue and aren't listening to the people who watch. They won't have anything to write about when the show gets canceled because of ratings....Get rid of George and Izzie and bring back Burke!

Burk should so-o-o-o come back, I think too much was made out of nothing. People should get over themselves and toughen up. Not everyone approves of everything all the time, that is life.

not only was burke a jerk on the show but IW was in real life too. if he's so talented why is his career relatively cold? plus he's a bigot and extremely judgemental. people like him don't have a place in media. we don't need any more negativity on tv than we have already. i agree with monique. hunt will be good for cristina and cristina will be good for him. he's obviously got a lot going on and there's a lot of pain in his past...like with cristina. they're both hard too with soft centers. they should compliment each other well. burke is gone. it's time for all of you to accept that. he was a decent actor but his character was just arrogant...like the actor.

Gray's is just not interesting without Burke. I've tried to watch it - but the thrill is gone. By the way, bring Burke and his Momma Diahann Caroll back!
Preston Burke made Cristine look human. With Meredith she seems mechanical with her emotions but with Burke it seemed natural. Remember the episode after she had the miscarriage and she couldn't stop crying. Burke was the one that made her feel better. That is the most memoriable Dr. Burke and Dr.Yang moment for me. I wonder if she will start having flashbacks of their relationship (not like Izzie) but real heartfelt flashbacks. I think it would be great to see Burke again.

The lower ratings speak volumes. Bring Burke back. He played a major role in the show and now it's gone downhill after loosing both him and Addison in one season. I miss his character on the show and am not as interested anymore. At least I can see Addison on Private Practice. Also, I don't think it seems real that Callie's character is now suddenly gay. That just doesn't fit and seems weird for her. Not a good story line for her and I always liked her character before.

I loved preston Burke and yang together!!!!! till this day i still wish he would come back and maybe him and yang would get back together but thats probley never going to happen now she has that one guy i cant remember his name right off hand they were kissing down stairs in the basement lol but anyway my favorite characters are cristine mar and derek and baily i love her so much and i love greys anatomy sooo much since the day it started and i hated when addison was on it though!!!!! but i love private practise that another favorite show of mine!!! but yeah ok lol GREYS ANATOMY ROCKS HARD CORE!!!!

I never really liked Burke. I thought he was stuck-up and too impatient with Cristina's emotional problems. I hated their relationship, he shouldn't of had to push her into everything with the threat of walking away. I disagree with gobby. What IW did was inexcusable, saying that people need to toughen up is like saying that African-Americans have to suck it up and deal with racism.
It seems that Dr. Burke will no longer be back. But in my deep heart, I really miss Dr. Burke very much. So I definitely dream his back. We don't know any of the fact about the things in the backstage. What we learn is just from report. But sometimes it will misguide us. We should admit the performance of IW in Grey's Anatomy. He is a good actor. So his actor career should not affected by that inccident for ever. I look forward to his new performance in other series. If he can join the Grey's Anatomy, it will be fantastic. By the way, look at the charity IW have done. People should never damn him. Everyone will do the wrong things and speak out the wrong words. What's more, he may be innocent. Who knows? So I support him for ever. No Dr. Burke, but IW.
