The arrogant, handsome intern who we first got to know as the man's man, both repulsive and irresistible to Izzie. The two had an on-again, off-again relationship that ended as Alex got caught sleeping with a nurse - in an attempt to regain confidence after "performance anxiety" problems with Izzie.
A former wrestler at the University of Iowa, he often tries to act more tough and aloof than he actually is. He and George O'Malley often clash due to their different personalities and also because Alex indirectly gave him syphilis (in Season One, George dated and slept with Olivia, the same nurse that Alex shagged).
After he and a visiting surgeon (Mark Sloan, the former best friend of Derek and lover of Addison) discussed his career prospects, Alex expressed interest in becoming a plastic surgeon. He gets that chance in Season Three, when Mark becomes a member of the staff - and makes Alex his personal lackey.
That means Alex Karev gets to know more about coffee than surgery. But he takes refuge on the "vagina squad" with Addison Montgomery, another attending who starts to fall for him before he turns her away. Later, he almost falls for a patient with a case of amnesia, but can't bring himself to commit to her either.
Will this patient - Rebecca Pope (also known as Ava, or Jane Doe) be the one to bring Alex Karev out of his shell at long last?

Well I like Alex or should i say adore,anyway he's honest ,handsome,caring,and sweet guy.i actually wish to be loved by a guy like him.I mean the way he loves Izzie and cares about her is incredible. the really bad thing is that every one who watches the show-or al most every 1-remembers only the fact that he had cheated on izzie or the times when he was acting like an ass which is so shallow as for a fan of grey's u should know that it hadnt been easy for him at all.For me wat i remember is when he kissed her in the bar the first time,when he left her up from beside dead denny,when he defended her to Dr.Bailey,when he told her that it hurts for a reason when she was trying to get back to work,when he let her help him with the case when everyone else didnt ,when he told her he understands and that he's an idiot for kissing her like that,when he told her that she'll move on when she's ready,when he told her that he's angry that she told him she's not ready and then she slept with O'mally,when he helped her when she was feeling christina is better than her,when he cried on her shoulder.And i do know wat happened then beside the fact that when they both were totally happy when they were together before Mer tells him and u should get that that was because he's a man who 've his pride .i'm glad that they are back now at the end of 505 and that was a brilliant scene ,it's good that izzie started it as he's tried before many times.i love'em together ,n I want 'em to be together cause he's earned that

I love alex too and its kinda sad that not everyone is so for him and izzie. I think no one could've explained all the reasons why i love alex then nour just did. He's sweet, caring and vulnerable from within- even though i love his tough guy act and yes- thak God Izzie approached him finally!
I hope they end up together- their both really cute together- and i hope this time it works out- really works out.

Alex and Izzie are meant to be together. If they don't get married or have babies by the end of the series I'll be so sand. I LOVE THEM!

I totally agree. Alex and Izzie fit! They cannot off Izzie - hasn't Alex been through enough? They need to bring them together through Izzie's sickness and make is very romantic like with Denny but even better where she doesn't die!!!!

i love alex! he's very honest and up front. he's a man with pride and doesnt back down in tight situations.
