Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Another Meredith Sibling?

Is Grey's Anatomy giving Meredith another long-lost half-sibling - this one a byproduct of her mother's affair with the Chief?! In the opinion of EW's Michael Ausiello, probably.

Sources have not confirmed this on the record. However, Grey's Anatomy did put out a casting call for a mysterious new recurring role - and here's where it gets intriguing.

The show is looking for male actor who is biracial and in his mid-to-late-20s. The inference Ausiello makes: The Chief and Ellis Grey had a long-lost love child at some point.

According to Ausiello, this new character remains on the table in the show's future. However, Shonda Rhimes has reportedly tabled this until next season of Grey's Anatomy.

What do you think? Would you be excited to see a new half-sibling for Meredith? Or is one Little Grey enough for both her and Seattle Grace as a whole?

More Grey's Anatomy Spoilers For Upcoming Episodes

This basically repeats most of the exact spoilers we posted yesterday and in previous weeks, but here's the latest on the Grey's spoiler front from E! today ...

Q: Enough about stupid Izzie already! Any dish on Meredith and Derek who are the whole point of Grey's Anatomy in the first place!?

A: Good news, Mer-Der fans: There's an upcoming ep called "Elevator Love Letter," and you know all of Meredith and Derek's best scenes happen in the elevator! That said, Derek is going to need Mer in the weeks to come - in the next new episode he decides to quit his job after learning exactly how many patients have died under his care. And if you aren't an Izzie fan, you should definitely watch the next episode - the interns diagnose her with something "unsettling." Maybe she just needs a little Pepto-Bismol?

Q: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but every med student taking neuro right now is going nuts on how textbook Izzie's brain tumor is. Which, while sad, will give us back a little of that beloved Grey's Anatomy drama we all know and love.

A: I'm certainly not one to argue with med students! But I'm also not one to argue with Shonda Rhimes, and she specifically told us "no" when asked if the rumors of Izzie getting a brain tumor were true. See for yourself here. She couldn't have been lying, could she? If you are a Grey's Anatomy viewer who happens to be a med student, doctor and/or brain surgeon (paging McDreamy!), please comment below and give us the skinny. Is Izzie's tumor a lock?

Not Anemic

Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: McDreamy Quits

As Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly points out, the just-released logline for Grey's Anatomy's March 12 episode, "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," reads:

"After learning at a deposition that more of his patients have died than survived, Derek decides to quit, even as Meredith refuses to give up on him. Bailey and the Chief continue to bicker over her peds fellowship - until Adele steps in to mediate - and Izzie's interns discover something unsettling on a 'patient x,' unaware that the charts they're looking at are actually Izzie's."

Did you catch that? Derek decides to quit.

The chances of Dr. Derek Shepherd's resignation sticking are no doubt slim, but still. That's a pretty major twist to give away in a press release, don't you think?

L.L. Bean Model

For the record, a Grey's insider assures EW that Patrick Dempsey "is not leaving the show." Theories on why Derek is quitting? How long before he changes his mind?

The rest of the description for the episode is fairly benign, save for the revelation that Adele (Loretta Devine) is returning to mediate the Chief's battle with Bailey.

It also confirms that Izzie's interns discover "something unsettling" about Patient X (Izzie), but that's kind of old news at this point. Very old, in fact. Like this new bit about Derek quitting, Shonda and her cohorts seem to give away everything far in advance.

Four Sneak Previews of "An Honest Mistake"

The high-profile guest stars keep on coming.

In this new sneak preview of tonight's episode, "An Honest Mistake," Faye Dunaway appears as Dr. Campbell, the first (and now oldest) female surgeon at Seattle Grace, whose recent surgery mishap is the focal point of ridicule from other doctors behind her back.

Watch out once she overhears, though ...

Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: "An Honest Mistake"

Michael Ausiello of EW brings us these Grey's Anatomy spoilers this morning in preparation for this evening's episode (which concludes the crossover event). Let's get to it:

Q: What's up with the fight on tonight's Grey's Anatomy? Is Derek hitting Mark over Lexie?

A: Kind of, but not really. It's a classic case of transference. Derek's really mad at Addison, but he ends up taking his frustration out on Mark instead. And man, do those two beat the crap out of each other. There's even blood!

Q: Can you give us some scoop on tonight's Grey's Anatomy?

A: Izzie Stevens finds out that her blood sample was mixed up (shocker!), which means that she is suffering from something far worse than anemia (double shocker!). But what? Sadly, we have to wait until March 12 for the official diagnosis.

Q: Will we be getting any Callie-Arizona scenes on Grey's Anatomy this week?

A: That's affirmative. Callie asks Arizona out on a date!

Izzie Stevens Speculation of the Week

Is Katherine Heigl being killed off Grey's Anatomy? Literally and/or figuratively?

This question has been raging for months ... many months in fact.

The latest from E! Online is that although nothing is official, it's looking "very likely" that both Heigl and T.R. Knight will sail off into an ABC-free sunset come the end of Season Five.

"The legal papers just need to be signed," says one Grey's Anatomy Insider reportedly familiar with the situation regarding the two acclaimed stars.

Riding Off Into the Sunset?

So, are the months-long rumors true that Izzie will die? If so, was bringing Denny back a mistake at first glance, but retrospectively a brilliant way to build up to her death?

At first glance, it would appear so, given her condition. However, it has been speculated that ABC will only release her from her contract if she agrees to future guest spots.

And if Izzie does leave, for any reason, what does that mean for her (living) love interest, Alex Karev? Also, how sorely would George O'Malley (T.R.) be missed? Would Seattle Grace be the same? Can the show survive without the two?

"An Honest Mistake" Sneak Preview

After a photo gallery and two promos, here's a two-minute sneak preview of "An Honest Mistake." And it's a rather intense one, to put it mildly, picking up where last week left off.

In the midst of a major operation, Derek finds his confidence is shaken like never before as he faces off with Addison over what course is best for their dying, pregnant patient ...

First Promos of "An Honest Mistake"

We posted a promotional photo gallery earlier today. Now, here are the first promos of Thursday evening's episode of Grey's Anatomy, "An Honest Mistake."

Grey's Anatomy Pictures: "An Honest Mistake"

Below is a photo gallery from this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, entitled "An Honest Mistake." There are a lot of good pictures as always, but one specifically caught our eye.

Could it be, an actual George and Izzie scene? In the wake of the constant rumors surrounding the possible departure of Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight, this is good to see:

Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: George's Exit Strategy That Wasn't

EW's Michael Ausiello shoots down one Grey's Anatomy fan's wishful thinking about an old face coming back to Seattle, then dishes on a story line for T.R. Knight's exit that was reportedly considered but ultimately decided against, in his spoiler Q&A session today ...

Q: Now that it seems likely that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving Grey's Anatomy, does this mean there's any chance Isaiah Washington could return as Burke?

A: Listen up, 'cause I'm only going to tell you this once: Um, no. But while we're on the subject of the looming mass exodus at Seattle Grace, a little birdie at Grey's Anatomy confided to me that Shonda Rhimes briefly flirted with the idea of having George develop a sudden interest in Dr. Hunt's background as an army doc. You thinking what I'm thinking? 'Cause I'm thinking what better way to get rid of George than to have him join the military and go off to Iraq. It'd be perfect, right? Only trouble is, a Grey's Anatomy insider tells me that story has been scrapped and replaced with "something even better." I'm not sure what that something is, but I have a call into my new BFF James Pickens, Jr. to find out!

Captain PassiveOwen Hunt

One exit strategy T.R. Knight apparently involved his character, Dr. George O'Malley, following in the Army footsteps of Maj. Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd). ABC decided against this.
