TV Guide on Future of Sandra Oh, Joshua Jackson

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has some scoop on Joshua Jackson's future guest spot on Grey's Anatomy - as well as a rumor that a cast member wants out:

Question: Some very mean and nasty people have been saying that Sandra Oh is leaving Grey's Anatomy, whenever it comes back. Since you are known as the god of TV scoop, I knew you'd be able to deny this for me.

TV Guide: Unfortunately, I can't verify that rumor's authenticity. What I can verify is that someone â€" and a major someone â€" wants to be discharged from Seattle Grace, STAT. But, as far as I can tell, that someone is not Sandra Oh.

Thankfully, it looks like the awesome Sandra Oh will be staying put.

Question: You mentioned that Joshua Jackson's three-episode Grey's Anatomy arc was delayed indefinitely because of the writers' strike. However, there's a new Grey's Anatomy airing this Thursday. Will he be in that episode?

TV Guide No, hence the "delayed indefinitely" thing. The good news is that I hear Shonda Rhimes has every intention of shoe-horning Joshua Jackson into Seattle Grace (and Cristina's bed) the second the strike is over.

An Interview with Lauren Stamile

Grey's Anatomy finally returns tomorrow, for what will be the last episode we'll see until the writers' strike comes to an end. It's extremely sad, but at least "Lay Your Hands On Me" is shaping up to be rather interesting.

One reason? Rose. The character introduced a few episodes ago, and played by the lovely Lauren Stamile, has done nothing but spark controversy. Here is an interview Lauren recently did with E! Online's Kristin Veitch ...

E!: I heard your mom and dad met just like Rose and McDreamy.
Lauren Stamile: Yes! My mom is a nurse, and my dad is a doctor, and it's actually kind of cute, because you know how they wear the surgical masks? Well, my dad saw my mom's eyes, and that was it. Very romantic.

Lauren Stamile (Rose), Patrick Dempsey (Derek), Ellen Pompeo (Meredith).

E!: So, what was it like the first time you met Patrick Dempsey?
Lauren Stamile: I met him in my last meeting [with the producers], and I didn't realize how nervous I was until I met him! He's definitely one of the most charismatic and charming people I have ever met. I wasn't ready, I don't think. I was laughing and red and embarrassed and probably ridiculous looking.

E!: How very Rose-like of you!
Lauren Stamile: Yeah, I was so very much myself during that audition. I wasn't sure at first if that was good or if that was bad. I guess it wasn't too bad.

E!: So, how jealous are your friends that you're smooching McDreamy?
Lauren Stamile: Very! [Laughs] I would be, too, if I were them. My family is very excited. I can't quite believe that's really my job!

Lauren Stamile Excited For Grey's Anatomy Story Line

Newcomer Lauren Stamile, who joined Grey's Anatomy on November 15 as feisty nurse Rose, will stick around for at least four more episodes to play Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd's new love interest, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Lauren Stamile was cast in September and, as expected, was over the moon about the possibility of acting with Patrick Dempsey, albeit slightly shocked.

Lauren Stamile is excited - and nervous - about her role on Grey's.

"It was like, are you kidding me? I'm kind of geeky. I hope people aren't disappointed," said Stamile, 31, a native of Oklahoma and graduate of Northwestern.

It's unclear when Lauren Stamile's fourth episode will air; it's also the last remaining original episode of Grey's Anatomy that ABC had in production before creator Shonda Rhimes and her team of writers joined the picket line November 4.

Guest Star News: Lauren Stamile, Josh Jackson

Kristin Veitch of E! Online reports that nurse Rose (Lauren Stamile) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) are definitely heading in a romantic direction in upcoming episodes. Rumor has it that Rose/Lauren is sticking around until the last episode before the strike â€" Episode 11 â€" and she'll be an increasingly bigger part of the plot, as Derek even calls on Rose to help save a surgery.

For those of you rooting for Meredith and Derek, the good news is that this new "McThorny" romance with Lauren Stamile's character becomes a thorn in Mer's side â€" she may just realize how very badly she wants a McDreamy ending. The bad news? According to sources, she might realize that a little too late.

In other guest star news, the Writers Guild of America strike is apparently going to nix Joshua Jackson's appearance on Grey's Anatomy. Producers are hoping they can figure out another slot for the former Dawson's Creek star after the strike is put to rest, but that's contingent on his schedule. Stay tuned.

Joshua Jackson to Guest Star on Grey's Anatomy

The list of notable Grey's Anatomy guest stars continues to grow. Joshua Jackson has been singed to a multi-episode arc on ABC's hit medial drama.

Elizabeth Reaser, Seth Green, Lauren Stamile and others have been announced as guest stars, as the new season continues to feature new faces.

Now it's Joshua Jackson, 29, who will reportedly play a doctor in the 11th episode of Season Four and continuing for several episodes. This is Jackson's first stint on TV since the end of his long-running hit show Dawson's Creek (2003).

Joshua Jackson

We've looking forward to seeing Josh Jackson on Grey's Anatomy.

Seth Green to Guest Star on Grey's Anatomy

Enough about Lauren Stamile. In less controversial guest star news, Seth Green has been tapped for a two-episode arc on ABC's Grey's Anatomy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Green, who has said that Grey's Anatomy one of his favorite shows, will play a patient on the hit medical drama. No word yet on the nature of his visit or when in Season Four it will take place.

"If you are going to get sick, Seattle Grace Hospital is the place to do it," Green said. "Maybe they'll call me McSicky?"

Seth Green

Green, who has starred in films such as Can't Hardly Wait and the Austin Powers trilogy, and who was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer for a number of years, recently wrapped the Disney/Tapestry Films feature Old Dogs.

Seth also executive produces, directs, writes and does the voices for Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, and is responsible for many absurd Family Guy quotes as the voice of Chris Griffin. Looking forward to seeing him on Grey's.

Lauren Stamile to Guest Star on Grey's Anatomy

Lauren Stamile (of the WB's Off Centre) has landed what is being described as "a major recurring role" on Grey's Anatomy, according to TV Guide.

Specifically, she'll be appearing opposite Patrick Dempsey, though sources won't confirm whether or not she will play an object of McDreamy's affections. Perhaps another McSister? The hospital is getting crowded with sisters and lovers. We're interested in seeing what the writers have in mind for Lauren Stamile.

Lauren Stamile

Stamile, 31, is a 1998 graduate of Northwestern with a degree in Theater. In addition to Off Centre, she has appeared in over two dozen films and shows.

Soap Opera Star Comes to Grey's Anatomy

Ron MelendezRon Melendez, who plays the sexy and mischievous Dr. Andy Archer on General Hospital: Night Shift, will guest star on Grey's Anatomy this fall.

Look for Ron Melendez to pop up in the fourth episode of the upcoming fourth season. His character, Will, is the fiancé of a Seattle Grace patient.

Since Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes famously frowns on spoilers, we can say no more about his character at this time.

The role should hardly be a stretch for Ron, considering:

  • Both Grey's Anatomy and General Hospital are shot on the same studio / lot in Hollywood. General Hospital is right next door to Grey's!
  • Both shows are hospital dramas that feature hot young surgeons who sleep with their co-workers. We couldn't resist that comparison.

New Grey's Anatomy Interns Revealed

We've come across some inside scoop on the new Grey's Anatomy interns who will be descending upon Seattle Grace in Season Four.

Of course, we all know about Lexie Grey, played by Chyler Leigh (pictured, who will be a regular cast member this season). But what about the other new interns besides Lexie?

Beautiful Chyler Leigh

One new intern, Claire, is played by Tymberlee Chanel, who is a relatively unknown newcomber to television, with the exception of two guest roles on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation this year and Numb3rs.

Graciella is played by Gloria Garayua. She comes to Grey's Anatomy following guest starring roles in Cold Case, the ill-received 3 Lbs., Strong Medicine, Joey, Six Feet Under and others.

Leo has had plenty of guest starring television roles as well, such as Dexter, That '70s Show, The X-Files and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. But the actor who plays him is also a relative newcomer to the scene.

Interestingly, these aren't the interns who appeared briefly in the final episode of  last season! Those interns were played by Ajay Vidure, Candice Afia, Artie O'Daly and Joseph Williamson. No word yet if they will be showing up this season as well.

Sources are also reporting that one of the interns is going to try and pull a Cristina / Meredith and hook up with one of their attendings. Intriguing!

Two Season 4 Guest Stars Announced

Tony Award winner Ben Vereen, who made his New York nightclub debut earlier this year, will guest star on Grey's Anatomy in the fall.

Vereen, according to his spokesperson, will play a burn victim on the hit ABC series. His appearance is currently scheduled for October 4.

A star of stage and screen, Ben Vereen made his Broadway debut in Jesus Christ Superstar, earning a Tony Award nomination for his performance. He nabbed the Tony for his work in Bob Fosse's production of Pippin and has also starred on Broadway in Grind, Jelly's Last Jam and Fosse.

Vereen was nominated for Emmy Awards for "Roots," "Intruders" and 1976's "The Bell Telephone Jubilee." He also received Golden Globe nominations for his work in "Funny Lady" and "Ellis Island." He was most recently back on Broadway as the Wizard in Stephen Schwartz's Wicked.

Ben VereenEdward Hermann

Also today, it was announced that Edward Hermann, perhaps best known for his work on Gilmore Girls, will appear on Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy.

Hermann was a fixture on The CW's Gilmore Girls as Richard Gilmore in all seven season of the show. ABC hasn't released much regarding what Hermann's character will consist of on Grey's Anatomy, but it appears that he will play a doctor for at least three episodes.

As for the regular cast, it's been a tumultuous off-season as we know. The Season 4 lineup will be minus Isaiah Washington, who was not retained by ABC amid a storm of controvery, and Kate Walsh, who left to headline her own spin-off series, Private Practice.

Meanwhile, Chyler Leigh has been added as a series regular in the role of Lexie Grey, younger sister of Meredith and new Seattle Grace intern.
