Grey's Anatomy News (Page 19)

Happy (Belated) Birthday to Grey's Anatomy!

A sharp reader pointed out that the first episode of Grey's Anatomy aired March 27, 2005, meaning our favorite show just turned three last week!

There have been 71 more great episodes since that date, with five more to come this spring and hopefully many more (full) seasons to follow down the line.

Take a moment now to reflect on your favorite episodes (every one of which has been recapped by our site), characters and love stories, as we recognize three great, though often tumultuous years of our all-time favorite drama, Grey's Anatomy ...

ABC will be airing "Let the Truth Sting" once again tonight - at 8 p.m. - and while we have seen this Grey's Anatomy episode multiple times already, there just aren't all that many to choose from, with Season 4 placed on hiatus for a period of months.

At least we've got some solid Grey's Anatomy spoilers and topics for discussion to keep us fired up until the show finally returns with five new episodes April 24.

In the meantime, for a full rundown of this entertaining episode, feel free to read Grey's Anatomy Insider's official episode recap of "Let the Truth Sting."

Vote on Gizzie in Our Grey's Anatomy Poll

Fans of George and Izzie as a couple are up in arms over recent Grey's Anatomy spoilers / rumors that their romantic days are soon to be over.

When we first asked the question of whether you wanted these two best friends to be together in a Grey's Anatomy Insider poll, we received record response.

Here's how the 38,062 votes cast added up last October-December:

  • 47 percent - Yes!
  • 44 percent - No!
  • 7 percent - Indifferent

As you can see, it's pretty even split. Far from the small, vocal minority of Grey's Anatomy fans that some claim exists (you can only vote once in our poll).

So we're asking you again, Grey's Anatomy fans. Do you want Gizzie to be a couple on the show? Vote in our poll here or on the top right of our home page.

Tonight's Episode: "Crash Into Me (Part II)"

Our apologies for slow Grey's Anatomy news coverage this week - although there has been relatively little in the way of pressing news to report.

One of Grey's Anatomy Insider's primary staff members has been going through a difficult time. We promise a return to the coverage you've come to expect.

Especially with the show finally ending its strike-induced production hiatus next month, we couldn't be happier to serve the Grey's Anatomy fan community.

Tonight, as we continue the wait until new Season 4 episodes return April 24, ABC will air the second installment of "Crash Into Me" at 8 p.m. EDT.

Relive the drama or catch up on what you missed in our episode guide to "Crash Into Me, Part II." Feel free to peruse our picture gallery and our Grey's Anatomy music list (with lyrics), along with some memorable quotes from the episode.

Our staff Round Table offers a lively discussion of topics, as well.

Grey's Anatomy Cast Shines in "Good Medicine"

Laura Saltman of Access Hollywood was one of the lucky few able to get a seat at
UCLA inside Royce Hall Friday as the Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy cast put on a charity show for crew members dubbed "Good Medicine."

She dubbed the show a combination of American Idol meets the SAG Awards meets "The Gong Show" meets your local high school's talent show.

Sounds like a ton of fun to us. Here's her review ...

The show started with a funny taped message from the one and only McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey, who said he was in Japan promoting Enchanted. With a wink, he couldn't miss a chance to plug the film, "Soon to be released on DVD."

Patrick Dempsey acknowledged how important the writers were to his show by joking, "Without them I'd still be known as that teen from Can't Buy Me Love."

Next to the stage was Dr. Izzie Stevens, Katherine Heigl, looking beautiful in a red knee length dress. Heigl, who is rumored to be leaving the show, revealed that all proceeds from the event would go to the Solidarity Fund started by the WGA.

Grey's Anatomy cast

True Grey's Anatomy fans know that Sara Ramirez, who plays Callie Torres, won the 2005 Tony for her role as 'The Lady of the Lake' in Monty Python's "Spamalot." I knew this, but I still had no idea how well this chick can really sing! Her voice brought the house to its feet with a performance of the song "Meadowlark."

Ellen Pompeo took to the stage next to briefly thank everyone for coming and to introduce the next singer, T.R. Knight. We know him as George O'Malley but T.R. got his start in theater and has appeared on Broadway.

Just before he tackled the song "Losing My Mind/You Could Drive A Person Crazy" from Sondheim's "Follies" T.R. Knight begged for a little understanding:

"It's been 13 years since I've done this and I'm following Sara Ramirez."

While T.R. Knight didn't have the pipes that Sara Ramirez did, he still did a great job with the song and had fun doing it.

Kate Walsh to Return For One New Episode

The redhead is back! ABC has confirmed that Kate Walsh, whose spin-off Private Practice is on hiatus until fall, will return to Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Addison Montgomery for one episode this spring, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes is still fleshing out the script, so no word yet on when Kate Walsh's episode will air or what the premise will be.

ABC will air five original episodes of Grey's Anatomy beginning April 24.

Love Triangle?

The last time Kate Walsh (as Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd) was seen walking the hallways of Seattle Grace was in the series premiere of Private Practice, which is the 2007-08 season's second most-watched new drama.

In the Private Practice pilot, Addison said a tearful goodbye to Seattle Grace to start a new life at Oceanside Wellness Center in Southern California.

What do you think about Addison's return? We'd love to hear your thoughts - as well as your best guesses for what the plot line will entail ...
