Grey's Anatomy News (Page 17)

Tonight's Episode: Where the Boys Are

After last week's terrific "Let the Angels Commit," Grey's Anatomy is back tonight with an all-new episode, "Where the Boys Are." We've found out a few spoilers regarding the episode... beginning with the fact that most of the boys are not at Seattle Grace Hospital.

Where the Boys Are: CampingYes, the men of Grey's Anatomy go on a camping trip together, which should lead to many laughs, as well as some tension. Addison and Callie team up to work on a patient, a pregnant 25-year-old who slipped in the shower and doesn't want medicine for the pain.

Speaking of interesting medical scenarios, the doctors must take care of Daniel... or Donna. He recently had sexual reassignment surgery to become female, and his wife of 10 years somehow stayed by his side throughout the ordeal. Finally, a 9-year-old is admitted by the staff after swallowing Monopoly game pieces. Who hasn't done that, though?

With most of his male cohorts gone camping, Mark asks Meredith to assist with a procedure unlike any she has experienced. He also hits on her. At least it's a pretty safe bet. Perhaps most intriguingly, a suspicious Dr. Bailey confronts a power-crazed Cristina.

We'll have our comprehensive episode guide to "Where the Boys Are" up after the show, along with our list of quotes, gallery of images, and song selection with lyrics. We're looking forward to it already... and are feeling this strange urge to go fishing.

The Gang Goes Fishin'

Tonight's Episode: Let the Angels Commit

Tonight, Grey's Anatomy returns with an all-new episode entitled "Let the Angels Commit." We'll have to see what the title holds symbolically, but here's the brief rundown of we've figured out is going on tonight:

Alex Karev: No More Plastics? To the envy of her fellow interns, Cristina gets to scrub in something known as a "humpty dumpty" procedure. Meanwhile, a series of events causes Alex to question his future medical specialty.

George assists Addison, who must work with a pregnant woman with an unusual dilemma -- she's pregnant with twins, but one of them is growing slower than the other.

Also, another patient's wife makes things hard on the staff since she has made her husband's health her job. Lastly, Derek receives a surprise visit from his sister (played by Embeth Davidtz).

All of this should be very interesting. As usual, we will have our exclusive episode guide up shortly after the broadcast, followed by our lists of quotes, pictures and music/lyrics from the episode.

Friday Grey's Anatomy Repeats Back On!

Grey's Anatomy: Coming Back to Friday! While Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a hit, the show it came from, where people and not houses, are given the makeovers, is apparently not.

It's being taken off the ABC schedule, the Associated Press reports, and in its Friday, 8 p.m. time slot, the network will again be running repeats of Grey's Anatomy. The re-runs of the previous night's new episodes will air at least through the November ratings period.

ABC planned on shelving its weekly Grey's Anatomy encore as of October 20, but decided it would rather go that route than bring back Extreme Makeover.

We don't blame them! After all, who cares about someone getting a makeover (fun as it may be) when you can just watch Patrick Dempsey.

The Time Has Come... For Repeats

McDreamy Laments Lack Of New EpisodeYes, it's sad. But after the first five mostly-terrific episodes of Season 3, Grey's Anatomy takes a break tonight. You can still watch the show -- twice, in fact -- but there won't be an episode.

At 9 p.m. Eastern, the Season 3 premiere, "Time Has Come Today" will be aired, followed immediately by "I Am a Tree," the second episode from this new season, at 10 p.m. These episodes were great, so at least they're worth another look.

You can check out our guides to both by following the links above. For the best Grey's Anatomy quotes and pictures from "Time Has Come Today," as well as the music featured during the episode, check out our special sections devoted to each.

For some memorable quotes, pictures and music featured during "I Am a Tree," follow the corresponding links and enjoy. The two episodes on tonight are very different, with the first wrapping up Season 2 and the second kicking the new season into gear. But both are a lot of fun.

The good news? Beginning next Thursday, five new episodes will air in as many weeks. They are titled "Let the Angels Commit," "Where the Boys Are," "Staring at the Sun," "From A Whisper to a Scream," and "Don't Stand So Close." We can't wait!

Izzie Mourns

Tonight's Episode Preview: Oh, The Guilt

Guilt, like many other emotions, is in no short supply at Seattle Grace Hospital. Any viewer knows that. The only question is whose guilt, new or old, will resonate with us the most during tonight's episode.

There's not a lot of speculation floating around about this one, and the previews shown at the end of "What I Am" weren't particularly revealing.

Friends, thanks to the morphineHere are four things we've discerned:

  1. Dr. Bailey must treat a young mother battling breast cancer. That's sure to hit close to home with Miranda, who just became a mother herself.
  2. A recovering Meredith and her new BFF, Addison, examine a couple who find themselves in an awkward position.
  3. The interns defend a resident's competence at a staff meeting. We're guessing this involves the case of Denny Duquette.
  4. Derek learns more about Mark and Addison's relationship. Certainly the most intriguing development hinted at in previews.

There's clearly more to the romance between Addison and McSteamy than Derek knows -- or is willing to accept. Was she cheating on him long before the night he walked in on them? Did Addison continue to see Mark after Derek left? Finn may be ancient history, but will these revelations in any way thwart Derek's pursuit of Meredith?

Well, it will be interesting to find out, that's for sure. And once we do, the Insider will post its comprehensive episode guide, along with as many quotes and pictures as we can find. We'll also compile a list of the music from the episode, post our Round Table discussion and announce our Caption Contest winner on Friday.

Looking forward to it!

Tonight's Episode Preview: What I Am

Tonight's episode, "What I Am," will feature a number of intriguing story lines as our beloved characters -- and guests -- strive to figure out who they are, what they're made of, and where they're going in life.

Dr. YangLast week, we saw Derek and Finn battle for Meredith's affections. This week, we'll see Derek and Mark (who we know has joined the SGH staff in some capacity) spar professionally as their opinions differ regarding the right course of treatment for a burn victim. Intense.

There's also tension between Cristina (pictured) and Dr. Burke, who she pushes to get better as fast as possible.

The doctors treat a salesman who wants to get back into his routine so he doesn't lose his edge. Addison works with a pregnant woman named Rebecca who may require a C-section (an epidural is not an option, apparently), and the circumstances are such that Mrs. Dr. Shepherd comes to doubt her own skills as a surgeon.

Most intriguingly, as we saw briefly in last week's previews, Meredith has a medical emergency of her own and is apparently worried she's pregnant. Whether that's actually the case or not, we'll have to waitFred Ward and see.

Then to top it all off, there's the mysterious arrival of guest star Fred Ward (right) who appears out of nowhere to see Izzie, and who we believe plays Denny's father.

Should be exciting! As usual, we'll have our exclusive episode recap up right after the show, and compile our list of quotes, image gallery, and music guide as quickly as we can.

Check back with us often!

Friday Repeats Will Cease October 20

Sorry, folks. For the first time in months, you'll have to limit your Grey's Anatomy fix to once a week. On TV, at least. By now, plenty of us own the Season 2 DVD.

Grey's Anatomy: Season Two UncutABC is bringing back the original Extreme Makeover on Friday nights, taking over the 8 p.m. spot that had been occupied by Grey's Anatomy. So fire up that DVD instead!

The network was re-airing the previous night's new episodes during that hour, which we certainly weren't upset about. Although it makes sense that they would want to run other programming... on occasion, at least.

Rest assured, however, that Grey's will stay in its Thursday, 9 p.m. time slot, where it remain one of TV's top-rated programs. Tomorrow night, we'll get to see an all-new episode entitled "What I Am." The Insider will have an exclusive preview for you tomorrow morning!

Dempsey, Washington in Seattle

We've been sent quite a few links and pictures regarding the previously reported appearance of the Grey's Anatomy cast in downtown Seattle.

Here's a pretty good candid shot of our favorite leading men, Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington, and one of the show's cameramen.

Isaiah Washington & Patrick Dempsey

They look a bit tired -- perhaps from arguing over who will ultimately replace Dr. Webber as chief? Got some pictures of your own? We'd love to see them. Email steve@greysanatomyinsider.com.

Grey's Anatomy Cast in Seattle This Week

Peter HortonWhile most TV shows are content to stick close to L.A., Grey's Anatomy tries to actually make its version of Seattle look real by visiting the Emerald City from time to time, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

Credit must be given to Bellevue, Wash., native Peter Horton (left) the show's lead director and an executive producer, for these visits. Of course, it also helps that Grey's Anatomy is now on Thursdays and probably ABC's most important series.

According to the P-I, cast members have been sighted downtown this week. The phone lines at the paper lit up with fans happily reporting seeing the show's handsome leading men, Drs. Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and Burke (Isaiah Washington).

The Insider is happy to have gotten a first-hand account of the cast's visit from a devoted fan and Seattle resident, Kimberly Lind, who writes to us:

"Being the obsessive fan I am, when I heard that Grey's filming in my own precious Seattle this morning, I rushed downtown as quickly as possible.

They were just wrapping up their scene in front of the Westin Hotel. I got a few grainy pictures of Isaiah Washington, James Pickens, Jr., and Patrick Dempsey as they mingled with the crowd, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

The guys were all dressed like they were heading out for a camping or fishing trip. Dr. Burke's hand seemed to be operating fairly normally. And the scene I witnessed, as I said, was shot in front of a five-star hotel.

The cast and crew were also spotted in Pioneer Square, Seattle's historic district, where they filmed some scenes at a bakery."

Thanks, Kimberly -- and go, Seattle!

Tonight's Episode Preview: I Am a Tree

Cristina Looks OnTonight's episode, "I Am a Tree," (9 p.m. EST) takes its name from a song written by Doug Gillard, and performed by Guided by Voices. We'll see if the voices of the interns can successfully guide Izzie back into the internship program, which they will attempt to do.

Cristina, meanwhile, has the honor of meeting Dr. Burke's parents, Jane and Donald (played by Diahann Carroll and Richard Roundtree) under rather awkward circumstances. To say the least. You've seen the previews.

Also, a distraught Addison takes a break from her hospital duties, a surgical patient lives what may be her last day to the fullest, and somebody's panties are tacked up on the bulletin board, which can only lead to good things.

Some of you in Canada, of course, have already seen this. But the rest of us are looking forward to it. We'll have our exclusive Episode Guide, pics and quotes up after the show, so check back!

Catch up on last week's season premiere, "Time Has Come Today," by reading our comprehensive guide as well as our staff's Round Table discussion. Check out our list of memorable quotes and our image gallery from the episode, too.
