California has legalized gay marriage, but Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight and boyfriend Mark Cornelsen won't be walking down the aisle just yet.

But they are happily living together.

"Mark just moved here from San Francisco," Knight said.

Mark Cornelsen and T.R. Knight have been together for months.

The Grey's Anatomy actor dismissed rumors they're planning to wed - and that he'll being officiating at his own commitment ceremony.

"Just to clarify, we are not having a commitment ceremony and I am not performing a commitment ceremony," he told Us Weekly.

He did laud the state supreme court's ruling and said the legalization of gay marriage in California gave him an "extraordinary feeling."

Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl was shocked to find out her co-star T.R Knight was gay - because she had spent the show's pilot flirting with him.

The Knocked Up actress, who married singer Josh Kelley (below) last December, was a single gal when shooting began on the hit medical drama in 2005.

That said, a handsome co-star caught her eye.

The actress' romantic plans didn't going anyway - her lustful looks were ignored as it turned out T.R. Knight (dating Mark Cornelsen at present) is gay. She says:

"When we were filming the pilot I was single and so was he and I kind of had my eye on him. I was getting nowhere and I was super-confused. I was like, 'Hello? Do I have something hanging out of my nose? Why aren't you paying any attention to me? Needless to say, it quickly became a friendship once he told me."

Funny stuff. In the end, it all worked out, as Katherine Heigl ended up with a great husband in Josh Kelley and a best friend (on and off the show) in T.R. Knight.

For those interested, Mark Cornelsen wore a t-shirt stating "We All Have AIDS." This is to promote a new campaign to end the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and call attention to the 40 million men, women, and children living with it globally.

The Emmy-nominated Grey's Anatomy star, who plays George O'Malley, stepped out with boyfriend Mark Cornelsen during the 2008 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Sunday.

Here's a cute picture we were sent of a pair of Grey's Anatomy stars and real-life best friends, Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight - along with Katherine's mom Nancy Heigl - in Paris, France this week, where she was promoting her new movie...

They've always been best friends Grey's Anatomy, and in the real world, so it's only fitting that bride-to-be Katherine Heigl includes T.R. Knight in her wedding.

The actor was among the small group of friends and family who helped Katie celebrate her recent 29th birthday, and now T.R. Knight has revealed in the current issue of Us Weekly that he'll be a member of his BFF's wedding party.

T.R. Knight, 34, is going to be a "bridesman" when Katherine Heigl finally ties the knot with her fiance, singer-songwriter Josh Kelley, 27, on December 23.

T.R. Knight will be there when Katherine Heigl says "I do."

"I'm standing up there and all," Knight said at the L.A. benefit for the Trevor Project on December 2. "I have to go and get the tux, and I am still deciding on a gift!"

Regardless of how you feel about George and Izzie as a couple, it sure is nice that these two are so close. We're excited for Katherine Heigl's upcoming nuptials!

Fans may be split (see our Insider poll) over whether they like or dislike T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl as lovers on Grey's Anatomy, but the pair of stars who portray Drs. George O'Malley and Izzie Stevens sure are best buds off the set.

Here's a candid photo of Katie Heigl and T.R. Knight at Arclight Theaters in Hollywood Monday night, when the components of "Gizzie" enjoyed many laughs as they stopped to sign autographs for fans and pose for the cameras.

They may be having marital problems on the set, but... at least they're good friends off it! T.R. Knight (George) and Sara Ramirez (Callie) are seen in the photo below at the 23rd annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles, which took place October 21.

The event, attended by this pair of Grey's Anatomy cast members as well as other celebrities, set fundraising and attendance records, raising more than $3.9 million for AIDS Project Los Angeles and other AIDS service organizations.

He's the subject of many Grey's Anatomy spoilers, rumors and gossip, but good luck getting T.R. Knight to spill the details his character, George O'Malley's budding romance with his best friend Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl).

On October 25's new episode of Grey's Anatomy, "Haunt You Every Day," George's relationship with Callie (Sara Ramirez) apparently ended, and he officially moved on to Izzie - with whom he had an affair while married to Callie, who's both of their bosses - prompting Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to declare, "they're in love!"

So what are T.R Knight's thoughts on the love triangle?

"I'm interested to see what is going to happen â€" I don't even know what is going on with it," Knight, 34, told Us Weekly. "Although it would be nice to see [George] get someone whom he doesn't divorce or cheat on."

T.R. Knight â€" who is gay, and who came out of the closet last year â€" told the magazine that his love life is also up in the air in real life.

When asked if it is tough dating under the scrutiny and bright lights of Hollywood, T.R. Knight replied, "It is difficult anywhere!"

"I don't know why finding someone seems so important in all of our lives, yet remains so difficult," he added. "I'm not exactly sure why ... fear, maybe?"

After quite a season finale, Grey's Anatomy returns tonight.

To recap where we left off in May, Cristina (Sandra Oh) was left at the altar by Dr. Burke. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) sort of broke up, and George (T.R. Knight) found out he failed his intern exams.

"He's repeating his intern year," T.R. Knight tells Entertainment Tonight on set of the hit medical series, referring to his troubled character.

"His options were to walk away, or to repeat it, so, he's a repeater. He's made a lot of mistakes and that was one of them. You know the adultery and all that, so he needs to work out some stuff."

And part of working out that stuff means he has to figure out whether he wants to stay married to Callie (Sara Ramirez), or pursue friend Izzie (Katherine Heigl).

While neither T.R. Knight nor Katherine Heigl would reveal the future of "Gizzie," they did talk about their romantic kissing scene - not!

"When we were kissing, I was chewing that gum," T.R. recalled, laughing.

"They have this apple gum on the camera cart," Katherine added.

"It's apple flavored, but, literally, to me, it smells like vomit... like that taste in your mouth before you are going to throw up. So, the fact that I had to kiss him, and he had that gum in his mouth, was really throwing me off, because all I was thinking of was throwing up."

Well, that's hot! The season premiere of Grey's Anatomy, "A Change is Gonna Come," airing tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC, is different this year.

The title is appropriate. With the exception of George, the rest of the gang - Meredith, Cristina, Izzie and Alex (Justin Chambers) - are now residents.

"We have just a tiny modicum of power now, but not like Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and not like Callie who is the chief resident. We have our own interns - a group of young, eager students... basically who we were two years ago," Katherine Heigl said.
