Katherine Heigl News (Page 6)

Josh Kelley Wants Kids with Katherine Heigl... Someday

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Katherine Heigl with a baby carriage? Not so fast, says her husband, Josh Kelley.

"It's nothing that we're talking about right now," Kelley, her singer-songwriter spouse of seven months, told People. "We're pretty busy."

Josh spent the summer vacationing with Katherine Heigl as well as touring. He returns to performing August 8 alongside Rod Stewart.

"I have time for my family, which is good. I have time for me and my wife," Kelley said. "I've actually been trying to tour a little less. And, basically, by touring less I've been making more music as a result."

High Five, Josh!

The Grey's Anatomy actress said in March that she'd like to have children sooner than Josh Kelley would – but she agreed that wasting the current career opportunities both have at the present time, would be "foolish."

And despite Heigl's controversial comments about Grey's Anatomy's writers, Kelley said his wife is thrilled to be back at work on the hit show.

"She's stoked, man," said Kelley, adding that the flap has been overblown. "It's a great show, and I think it's going to be a great season."

Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight Talk Shop(ping)

Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl enjoyed in little company in the form of her best friend, T.R. Knight, during a shopping trip to Americana at Brand, a shopping mall in Glendale, Calif., on Tuesday afternoon. Check it out ...

Heigl and Knight

During their visit, the Grey's Anatomy stars hit up the Apple store, Sephora and some other institutions. Always fun to see them out and about!

Katherine Heigl Wants to Fight Vices

Never far from controversy, embattled Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl wants to go back to her Mormon roots - or so she told the UK's Daily Mail.

"I'm not as disciplined as I once was," she said. "But I hope to find my way back as I get older and a little less selfish. I'm ashamed to say that I've just got very lazy about it. I satisfy my vices instead of fighting them."

Katherine Heigl Smoking

Could she be talking about smoking? Katherine Heigl, as we know, has been pictured many times in recent years with cigarette in hand.

Maybe seeing herself with one in her hand all the time has prompted the Grey's Anatomy star to finally do something about it:

"If I start going back to church, I'd have to stop the smoking and drinking. And I wouldn't be able to curse anymore," she says.

A Grey Area: In Defense of Katherine Heigl

Could there be a worse career move for an actress than telling the truth? Mark Harris of Entertainment Weekly takes a look at the strange case of loquacious Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl and is wondering this very question.

Heigl, 29, who won an Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy Award last fall for Grey's Anatomy, is not among this year's nominees. We all know why.

But given the controversy caused by her decision to exclude herself from contention this time around, you'd think she had beaten up Dakota Fanning.

This was hardly the first time that Katherine Heigl's outspokenness has burned bridges or landed her in the middle of some kind of public squabbling.

Her contract negotiations with ABC went public, she chided Judd Apatow over Knocked Up, and then there was the whole Isaiah Washington situation.

Best Supporting Actress!

Plenty of people have said she should keep her mouth shut, be more modest, go to work, like it, and act like basically every other celebrity.

But do we really want our stars to be that boring? Is her honesty really such a terrible thing? Is Heigl's uniquely outspoken nature a drawback?

Grey's Anatomy Rumors: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Style

Popular guest star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is on his way back to Grey's Anatomy. That much has been confirmed - but when, why, and how?

Is Grey's Anatomy really going to kill Izzie, as has been rumored frequently, with Denny resurfacing to welcome her to the afterlife? Not likely.

For starters, at least one inside source says there are no plans to off Izzie as a means of punishing outspoken cast member Katherine Heigl.

Second, Morgan already filmed his scenes, which are to air in the season premiere, so the timing is wrong for this stunning development.

But ABC Entertainment chief Steve McPherson issued vague denials of a plan to eliminate Izzie, and another insider says that the rumored brain tumor contracted by Dr. Stevens was indeed the plan for Heigl's character in Season Five.

After her diagnosis, Izzie was to see “visions” of Denny.

JDM

Of course, if that was (or is) the plan, Shonda Rhimes may change it since the word is out. She’s not a fan of Grey's Anatomy spoilers (with the exception of her giving away the Mer-Der reunion at the end of Season 4 weeks beforehand).

A few seasons back, E! Online reported that Cristina Yang was to have a lesbian storyline. That plan? Scrapped, then revamped (much) later in the form of Callica.

The conclusion is that we're stumped. Morgan's casting confirmation lends credence to the notion that the brain tumor plot could still happen, but the reports we're hearing the subject are conflicting and far from set in stone.

What do you think of Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning to Grey’s Anatomy - and is the brain tumor a good idea? Tell us what you think - and hope.

Will Shonda Rhimes and the Grey's Anatomy writers actually do what many have suggested and kill off Dr. Izzie Stevens? Stay tuned.

Shonda Rhimes Downplays Katherine Heigl Comments

When Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl withdrew her own name from Emmy contention, rumors of her departure from the show grew rapidly.

But creator Shonda Rhimes says there are no hard feelings.

"I didn't feel insulted," Rhimes said late last week in Los Angeles. "I have a wonderful working relationship with Katherine Heigl, and Izzie is one of my favorite characters. So when I heard her comment, it was a bit surprising."

Rhimes, who also serves as executive producer or Grey's Anatomy, added, "But Katie is an outspoken person, and I think we all knew that already."

But according to a source, in response to Heigl's griping, the writers are considering giving her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, a fatal brain tumor.

ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson sort of denied that last week, though his vague comments certainly did not quell the speculation.

Shonda vs. Katherine

Do you think Shonda Rhimes is really planning Izzie's demise?

ABC Sort of Denies Plans to Kill Off Heigl

Rumors have been running rampant about star Katherine Heigl's departure from Grey's Anatomy. The most prevalent theory, bolstered by news of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's return to Grey's Anatomy, revolves around Izzie contracting a brain tumor.

Yesterday, ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson commented briefly on the subject of Heigl's future, and while he said that Izzie isn't going anywhere, reading between the lines a bit reveals some awfully ambiguous statements.

According to McPherson, Katherine Heigl is still very much in the mix with Grey's Anatomy, and Izzie Stevens won't be offed anytime soon.

In fact, he promised the following:

"Katherine is absolutely staying with the show. She has an unbelievable storyline this year, which is central to everything going on this season. Shonda Rhimes is really excited about that; she’s the one who actually crafted that."

Content Katherine Heigl Strolls, Shops

Katherine Heigl shops on a day off from the Grey's Anatomy set. Soon she may have a lot of days off from the Grey's Anatomy set, if you know what we mean.

We mean the producers are supposedly contemplating ways to kill Izzie.

We'll have to stay tuned as Season Five approaches and Dr. Izzie Stevens' fate becomes clearer. For now, Katherine Heigl is still employed. Here's a photo of her:

Grey's Anatomy Producers to Kill Izzie?

Note the question mark. This is not confirmed.

But there's no mistaking the latest buzz hissing from the set of the ABC hit is that Grey's Anatmy creator Shonda Rhimes may be entertaining the idea of killing off Katherine Heigl's Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens. Why?

Lest we forget, Heigl took herself out of the running for this year's Emmy Awards, declining to even submit her name for consideration because she felt the writers failed to give her enough good material in Season 4.

"It's not good," a source on the Grey's Anatomy set told E! Online. "Shonda is pissed. They're thinking of killing her off. They want Izzie dead."

Izzie Gonna Make It?

While a dead Izzie may still not happen, it would be a bit ironic, as Grey's Anatomy insiders have long speculated that Heigl wants off the show.

Going public with her Emmy complaint only increased speculation that she wants out of her contract to focus on her film career, which is red hot.

A rep for Shonda Rhimes said, "I haven't heard anything about that." Reps for both Katherine Heigl and ABC declined to comment on the subject.

What do you think? Is it time for Izzie to check out? And does Katherine Heigl have what it takes to leave Grey's Anatomy behind?
