I could kind of see that theory being true, because even though darker skin is a more prominent gene, sometimes it happens that a child gets the lighter skin instead. Who knows? It'd make the show so much more interesting if he was!!!

I believe that is setting up the plot that Jackon is the Chief's son and Meredith's brother.

In the episode where Adele is in hospital after her car accident and she's pregnantshe talks to Mer. She says sorry about MEr's mum dying, and she talks aboutRichard having Ellis flirting with him. Adele says she used to watch Mer as a baby to take her mind off the flirting

That makes no sense, because then Merideth wouldn't have been a match for Thatcher's kidney. Do you even pay attention?

That theory doesn't add up, Adele wouldn't have known Merideth as a child.

But that doesn't make sense because Meredith does look like Thatcher, and her skin would have been like Richard's, rather than like Ellis', because dark skin is a dominant gene.

Ok now it is time for the truth to come out. Meredith is the chiefs daugther. They ellis and richard met a few years earlier and had a brief affair ellis went back to thacther and was pregnant and when meredith was born she didn't think anything because meredith looked white. But adele always felt that meredith was richards child that is one reason she left richard she could see richard in meredith she knew that richard and ellis had been at the same meeting so she wondered if they had hooked up and about the transplant she was not a biological match for thatcher and lexie found outand did not tell meredith because she was afraid that meredith would not donate if she knew that thatcher was not her father. Another open door huh.
