Amber H...that sounds right. We know that mark is much older than lexie. So, if you did the math and he had a kid when he was 18 that would make him 36.
Amber H. Says:

One more thing...how old is Mark? Have they ever really stated it? I was thinking that he was like 41 and Derek was like 39 but I can't remember how I thought this unless it was with the whole Mark/Lexie age thing. If Mark was like 18-19 when he got Sloan's mom pregnant then he would be closer to 37 so about 13 years older than Lexie??

I definitely feel cheated out of a GOOD Thanksgiving or Christmas episode. It was way too much for 1 hour - why didn't they make it a 2 hour episode?? I did find it strange how Mark and Sloan interacted but I think it showed her personality is a lot like his. I think this SL will turn out well if they let it grow and not force it as quickly. I think it would be great to see Mark explain to Lexie that he did know about the pregnancy even though he hoped she had an abortion. I think Lexie will be very upset that he knew he had a child out there and walked away - then she will realize that her dad did the same thing to Meredith and forgive him. Maybe it will even bring up the fact that he also got Addison pregnant and she had an abortion which could create some Derek/Mark tension. I am anxious to see what causes Mark to take Sloan to Addison in LA too. I think this SL has great potential and I just hope the writers so it well! Do we know when the GA/PP crossover is?
Scottie.. I though the same thing too. She was pregnant when she was young 17/18 and Mark was 18. So why kicking her out now that she is pregnant? She did the same as she did. And why now, came looking for her father, not before?! This storyline is completly crap. I was kind of looking foward to it but I really find it boring. The actress who play the role.. her acting is completly horrible, and when she was crying and Mark hugged her.. I didn't really feel the connection or even felt sorry for her one bit. This SL is useless!! And there are so many characters, they should focus on the main ones. S 1,2,3 was the best!! Ex My fave couple is Mer/Der in the first seasons was full of them and their screen time, and the main SL even when they weren't together, now only 20 seconds to 2 minutes in 42 minutes.. Come on!! They really should really fire some boring people and focus on the main ones and let us know them better!!

I'm not really enjoying the season so far, and I'm not talking about George and Izzy - somethings are the way they are and can't be changed. It's just that everything is moving so fast, that I feel as if I'm watching the recaps of episodes I never got to watch. I understand the writers have to take the show to the next level, but to me, the way they've chosen to do it is not right. It's like the show is now lacking it's rythm, if you know what I mean.

This episode was beyond disappointing! I don't know who's idiotic idea it was to put a month and a half of story lines into 42 minutes of television, but that person should be fined or something.
For starters, the whole 'Mark has a daughter' story line is complete crap. First of all, they literally had her say "You're my dad!", then had some comments about how she had a horrible personality, and then we're supposed to feel bad for her when she starts crying? All I felt like doing was covering up my television.
-The whole Teddy/Owenstina drama was SO rushed that I really didn't give a crap about Teddy's hurt feelings. Not to mention, do we really need ANOTHER new character?
-As much as I love Bailey, I started laughing when Callie was talking to Bailey's dad, because I could totally see her saying "Ya, I had this storyline last year with my dad, except I was gay instead of divorced. Luckily for you, I can tell you that it will all work out in the end!"
-No Alex at Christmas dinner? What, is he too busy celebrating with the bears in his trailer?
-Mark's eighteen year old daughter got kicked out by her mother for being pregnant. This is the same mother, who if she's Mark's age and not even younger, got pregnant at 19 or 20?...okay then.
-The Chief yet again makes me wish he had decided to join the army instead of George. I can't even count the number of ways his character has been a first class ass this season, and the writers really are not trying to redeem his character whatsoever. Instead they're giving Meredith another alcoholic father figure.
-The ONLY good part of this episode to me was the heartless girl. I thought that actress did a great job, and I was actually smiling with her when that guy (Chyler Leigh's real life husband) proposed to her.
Unfortunately, this is the memory of Grey's Anatomy we are left with until next year...So, good job writers. You really put your best foot forward on this one. (For those of you who couldn't tell, that was extreme sarcasm).

I really don't like Sloan character and actress for that matter. I do expect that the cross-over with PP with Mark taking her to see Addison is because her pregnancy is in some sort of trouble and maybe she has a miscarriage or something. I just don't see how Mark being a grandfather will fit into the whole story. What I loved was when Lexie and Sloan are arguing over Marks Christmas gift and Derek went to Mark to tell him that his children were bickering. I thought that was pretty funny. I do like Teddy and I expect they find her someone 'cause I also like Christina/Owen and I don't see that relationship ending. As far as Izzie I did not miss her (sorry Izzie fans), nor did I miss the Mercy West drs. We saw Jackson just for a couple of minutes which was fine with me. Miranda's dad, what a jerk, no other word to describe him.
This episode was my least favourite of season 6. Here's why:
- It felt too short because of all the holidays together, it really should have been a 2 hour episode
-Not enough MerDer
- Lexie looked happy that Mark had a daughter, I was expecting her to be really suprised or freaked out.
- Sloane Riley (Mark's daughter).. errr I really don't like her. This actress was totally unfit to play Mark's daughter, she's a horrible actor
- Hardly any Callie! She was hardly in the episode, which was kinda disappointing to me, she's my favourite character.
- No Callie or Alex at dinner.
- No Izzie comments, except the one at lunch ("You're Izzie's bitch")
- The whole Cristina/Teddy/Owen thing. i felt the whole love triangle was moving too fast. Teddy only came in one episode and the writers are already moving ahead with the whole Teddy and Owen relationship. I think they should have taken a bit more time with this storyline.
- No Calzone.. :[ I love their relationship and there were no scenes with them together..
- Next episode: JANUARY! We'll have to wait till jan. for the next episode..
The only thing that I liked about this episode was when Derek, AZ, Mark, Mer and Lexie were counting down to New Years. The kisses with their scrub mask was cute.

hmmm... I'm going to post a critical point of view, for the first time
I felt the script was sloppy? or more "soapy" than I remember it being- these being glaring examples:
- Mark's daughter presents herself to him by walking in on an actual surgery? how could that possibly represent reality-- ?
- Lexie literally cuts off the top of her finger- and it merits a blip of 10 seconds' comment afterwards ?! so maybe Lexie isn't a professional violinist- but she is a surgeon-in-training and her hands are her life-- !
I dunno.
to me, that level of implausibility affects my enjoyment of watching-
even Owen's passionate declaration to Cristina, at the end of the episode- that kiss, not behind closed doors, in as public and busy a professional place as a hospital ?! makes it a bit cheesy- instead of touching- as these actors' performances deserve.
or maybe I was in a critical mood!
cheers..

and I agree Lauren up to a point, this season is a bit weird because there are way too many characters now in Seattle Grace, not to mention Mercy Westers and Teddy. It's hard to tell who is the main character and who is not. It's ok when you look from the other side, because it gives us scenes and moments to identify with new characters and most of the time the writers are quite succesful at this (that has always happened so in Grey's Anatomy; Callie, Lexie, Addison, Mark and Erica) but this season it's much more crowded. And unlike Lauren, I still believe the season is awesome except for the 10th episode.

Am I the only one who's had enough with the chief? I'm really tired of watching him drinking, mentoring and hiding his flaws and the fact that he's getting older. He should have resigned in the first season where he had a sight-problem.
Bailey is tirade woman. But what was that with her father? Did anyone enjoy her speech?
I don't really care what will happen to Sloane, it would take ages for me to be able to symphatize.
