If you've seen the promos for this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, you know Meredith Grey has an impossibly difficult problem on her hands. Her father, Thatcher, who saddled her with abandonment issues and made her dark and twisty for decades, needs a transplant.
It looks like Lexie is not a match, but Mer is. She could be his last hope.
Should Meredith help Thatcher, her estranged father, who returns to Seattle Grace? Should she do as Lexie pleads, and give her her dad? Or, as Derek says, does she really not owe Thatcher anything after all the misery he's caused her?

I don't want Mer to have to help him, but I don't know if she will be able to deal with the guilt if he dies. Not to mention breaking Lexie's heart. But Derek is right, she doesn't owe him anything.

I voted no but Mer will probably give him her liver just because that is the way she is and if he dies she will feel guilty.

she shouldn't give the liver to tatcher, but probably she will do it for Lexie.
Also, like you said, Derek is right, she doesn't owe him nothing.

I think Mer shouldn't give her liver to Tatcher, for all the things that he did to her. She doesn't owe him nothing. But Mer is going to do the transplant, for Lexie and not to deal with guilt if he dies. Altough they can also call UNOS but it's really dificult to find a match.

This is a ridiculous poll give away your liver to make someone else feel good, R U MAD!!!!! she shuld only do it if its for herself (Meredith owes lexie nothing). i like lexie but mer let her live in her house! and asked derek to keep mark away from her for her own good so no not for lexie for her.

She will probably do it. Then she will need a few episodes to recover.....that will be a great time for her to depart a little from the show to have mommy time with the new baby.

I think as kedzo, I'll prefer no donation (no long explanation again) but in that case meredith'd do it for herself
and of course a donation give EP time out for the maternity leave

Meredith does not owe that man anything at all! Derek is right! Meredith also shouldnt do something for Lexie just because they are half sisters! That man was not a good Dad to Meredith! I agree with Meredith's husband!!!!!!

I voted no. She doesn't owe Thatcher anything like Derek said!! And Thatcher deserve nothing from her after what he put her through, he should be the one that refused her organ, he shouldn't put her through that for him that was no good for except for screwing her over and over!! He wasn't her father..just a sperm donar!! And she owes Lexie NOTHING!!!!
But I guess she will do it anyway!! We will see what Shonda has prepered for us huh!!

Meredith's father should be ashamed to ask. Donating a kidney as a young woman whom has never had children could make pregnancy difficult and dangerous. Also, if Thatcher's condition is genetic, she may need that extra kidney--it could cost her her life.
