Grey’s Anatomy has enlisted Jack Bauer’s ex and a former Lipstick Jungle star to throw a monkey wrench into Owen and Cristina’s burgeoning romance, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Sources confirm that Grey’s Anatomy has tapped former 24 heroine Kim Raver to join the cast as a new SGH surgeon and a possible love interest for Kevin McKidd’s Dr. Owen Hunt.
Back in August, Kevin McKidd revealed some Grey's Anatomy spoilers, namely that a major skeleton would tumble out of Owen’s closet in this transitional season of Grey's Anatomy.
“Someone comes to the hospital that he was connected to in his past, not his ex-fiancée, but it’s somebody we didn’t expect,” the actor said in an interview with E! Online.
“I think it could get a little tricky, to say the least, but also exciting and interesting."
"Hopefully it will bring [Owen and Cristina] closer in the long run.”
Raver’s role is recurring and she will debut on November 12. Who do you think she's playing, and are you excited? Or are all these new doctors just making the cast too crowded?

I like the idea of the merger with Mercy West and it bringing in new doctors, but unless she comes over from Mercy West I think the addition of a new attending is much too much. Plus Owen and Cristina are my favorite couple and they have been through so much, they need a break from all the constant drama. I can't be sure though, I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I am annoyed at how they never give Cristina a break! She is finally starting to do "well" with Owen, and now this? Also I'm frustrated that Bailey is taking out her frustrations on Cristina. I'd like to see her laugh and have fun like she did with Burke.
On a brighter note, at least they are making McDreamy out to be a great chief. They are emphasizing his steadiness and compassion with others. He's come a long way from his indecisive self during the Addison/Meredith times.

Can they stop adding more characters already? Its hard enough keeping up with the ones already on the show. Sheesh. Anyways, bringing Burke back I do support. Oh here comes the thrashing from the anti-burkes. Whatever. Anyways, I would like to see Cristina putting her supposedly fluent French and Korean to use. haha.
