  1. Elsa Says:

You know if George fans were doing this in the Ellen giving birth thread or Katie and Nayleigh thing, I would get it, but when they talk about George, it's usually under an article that mentions George in one way or another or that is about him.
So you want the George fans to not talk about George when he's mentioned?

They talked about George's funeral in the SP, so of course the George fans will comment.

Can't you get this is a hard episode for us tonight?

After tonight, we'll stop complaning, but tonight we have the right too. Tonight is about George and his death and our right to mourn him.

I don't know why we couldn't post on the main board. We have every right to.

If we are still complaining weeks from now, you can tell us to shut up but not tonight of all nights.

I read the critics too, and they scared me but then the critics hate Grey so much lately, they might be biased against it. I will watch myself and hope they do a wonderful tribute to a wonderful character and don't forget his connection with Izzie.

  2. Blizz Says:

Cristina is not going to be sad rightaway because she's not that kind of person. She deals with stuff her way. If everything would be handled the way it is in other shows (everyone would be whiny, crying, depressed) this would be so boring.
You can complain all you want, you can drown in tears but it would be nice if you do it in George O'Malley appreciation thread. You could simply let people talk about something else than George O'Malley. Because a lot of people are tired of you complaining. You haven't even seen the episode and you already know that Shonda did it wrong.
If the show is so superficial, Shonda sucks, the most wonderful character has just been killed off, and all other characters are inappropriate bastards with no human feelings than just don't watch it - why annoy yourselves on purpose?

  3. Frankie Says:

I'm tired of being told to stop complaining.

Stop telling people how to feel.

George deserves a great goodbye episode.

We George fans deserve it after not seeing him all last season.

One episode is not the whole season. After that they can be as happy as they want. All we want is one episode.

It's easy to be get over it, and life goes on when it's not your favorite character that's dying.

  4. Magda Says:

I will complain if I want to. This is a free board. As you might have notice, telling people to stop complaining usually makes them do it more.

I don't appreciate being told I have to like something and be positive when I don't feel like it.

This episode is about George so as a George fan, I can complain about George.

  5. Magda Says:

There is a difference between crying and not seeming to care a bit and being all horny. Why do you always have to go from one extreme to another?

She could look sad and be somber for a while, not be all giggly and horny and refuse to go to the funeral like it was some boring thing to do.

It's not just one critic. I have read many critics and they are ALL saying the episode was a total insult to George and not sad at all.

When Meredith was dying, they all reacted normally. Couldn't they do the same with george?

I have been watching TV for 20 years and have watched hundreds of deaths, and most of the time, they are done really beautifully and poignantly.

I guess it's too much to ask for in Grey, who is a pretty superficial show in the end. Shonda had never really been able to do drama well, so maybe she shouldn't have killed George if she couldn't handle the dramatic.

isn't it why you said it was better George died. It was better dramatically, but now you say the dramatic aspect should be rushed.

So maybe he should have went to the army and be a hero?

  6. Nickie Says:

We are not asking a whole season. We are asking for ONE hour.

Another article said they made inappropriate jokes about George's penis, his sex life and questioned how he could get any girl.

That doesn't feel like a respectful tribute for someone who died a hero.

It was bad enough they ridiculed him when he was alive, but now to ridicule him when he's dead. They also add Mark makes really inappropriate comments about George. As if Mexie and Mark's little joke about Geing being in a body bag didn't ruin him for me, my love for him is now officially gone.

This is a beloved characetr who they treated like dirt all last season. Can they respect him after his dead, for one hour?

  7. anuflas Says:

So, Cristina has to crawl up to a bed an cry because of George? EVERYONE deals with death differently, it doesn't make it wrong or right. Stop judging without even knowing how the episode is going to play out.

Give the episode a chance. One critic's opinion isn't everything. If after that, George's fans don't like it, well, sad thing.

As for the preview, HOT. Haha...it'll sure be an interesting episode.

    Less than 8 hours away.

  8. Blizz Says:

And just one more thing: I really liked dr. Burke (seriously, I did...;)) and when he left I felt like something ended and the show won't be the same without one of its core characters. Now, two seasons after that, I am like "Burke who?";) The same with Addison.
So for those of you who are not "completely devastated", but just sad for George, I hope you'll get over it soon and enjoy the new season.

  9. Blizz Says:

Well, that's just one personal opinion.
We should really wait and see the epi before we start to judge it. And if George's fans really won't see any point in watching the series when he's gone, they can just stop watching. I guess Shonda is aware of that.
I would like to point out, that the only proper goodbye for a character who was a good friend, ex-husband, ex-lover, ex-boyfriend, who has been on a show since the very beginning, would be a season full of mourning. I really don't think anybody wants that. Most of us still have our favourities on the show and look forward to the new season. So George's fans really don't have to complain in every thread that pops out on this site...

  10. Bella Says:

    One critic:
    http://media.herald-dispatch.com/blog/tuned/2009/09/greys-anatomy-review-somethings-just.html

They say they didn't do justice to George and gave him the goodbye he deserved.

  11. Marah Says:

I read they all laugh hysterically at the funeral. The journalist said it felt very cruel and mean to George.

But then I read somewhere else it does hit Cristina very hard when it hits her.

I guess we need to wtch and see.

George is my favorite, always has been, so I hope it shows George will all his beautiful qualities and his flaws, the whole of him.

    His whole wonderful imperfect perfection.

And for TR fans, do you guys know he is premiering his play tonight?

I hope we get some photos.

    TR will rock!

  12. Hannah Says:

I will wait and see but the critics who have seen the show have bashed it really bad and said it was an insult to George's memory, so it doesn't make me that hopeful.

You know I have been watching all the old episodes and I used to love the whole show, but somehow Shonda lost her magic and lost what made this show so magic and those characters so great. That's just my opinion of course, but I know many who feel that way, including many critics.

So yes since half of season 3, George was the only character I still recognized and was still felt invested in.

I won't lose any sleep over it but I'm very sad about it because George was an amazing character and I loved him. I really wanted him to have a happy ending.

And I don't know why people keep saying George had no airtime because he asked to leave.

Did you not read BOTH Shonda and TR's interview? Shonda said it was COMPLETELY her decision to erase him all year so everyone would be shocked when we had the 007 scene, something she didn't tell GTR about. TR grew frustrated and quit OVER THE LACK OF AIRTIME. He said no other character had ever been erased like him, so no it had nothing to do with him quitting. He quit because of it. George and all his releationships were trashed all season for that stupid 997 scene.

I'm pretty sure she would never have dared done that to the other character.

George was suppose to get a total miracle and survive but TR was so tired of the bad treatment for George, he quit so she killed him. And still, she refused to give him scenes so we could get some closure.

Yes Grey handles deaths really bad, and that's one of the things that turned me off the show.

People have to mature one day and setop being self-centered. People mature usually in five years, but in this show, they regress.

Yes I know how George dealt with his dad's death. I hated it. That,s why he got married too fast and his whole life ended up exploding.

I think George was amazing and I adore Gizzie, but I don't think he was perfect and he messed up after his dad's death.

Most george fans I know admit that, and didn't like how this was handled at all.

I will watch and see before judging.

Katie did say it was a beautiful hommage to George and Gizzie, and I hope she's right. But I'm a bit skeptical anyhow.

Can you blame me given George's history on the show?

  13. Owen_CristinaForever! Says:

OMG I LOVE this preview! Owen and Cristina are soo HOT! and I don't think Cristina is being cold about George I read somewhere that she doesn't really know how to deal with it and it does hit her hard! I bet at the funeral she will be very very sad, she just deals with it differently but I think Owen will help her through it!

  14. Blizz Says:

    Wow, delphincik, easy!
First of all you are waaayyy out of line accusing people you don't know of getting over death too fast.
Second of all please don't say it's your personal tragedy, it's just too insensitive to say that. George is a fictional character and as sad as the storyline is, it is not true. It just sounds weird when you say Americans don't treat funerals serious enough while you call death of a TV character a "tragedy". Really strange perspective...
And finally, you don't know what the episode is going to be about because it hasn't been aired yet. Why are you already angry and judgeing Shonda for being ignorant about George? The spoilers said "the season premiere is going to be all about George O'Malley" so at least wait until the episode airs to be THIS mad...

  15. zooz Says:

why are they already telling us everything!??! i mean they totally ruined it when they showed the beginning. and when alex told izzie about george. i bet we'll all know which scene is gonna come up next when we watch the show tonight =S

  16. delphincik Says:

i have a thought which i want to share, may i am wrong but i think you Americans get very easily over someone's funerals, you don't treat as a tragedy, but like a simple sad event. Looking backwards, I don't realize how i lived with the thought that i won't see George again on this show, so for me it's like a personal tragedy, very is going to happen many interesting things but totally not related to George's funerals, it will be about izie, chief, Meredith and other, but not about George which is pathetic, i literally hate Shonda, because of her George left, and speaking about ratings , because of this wrong step Grey's rating will drop like George's BP

  17. Amy Says:

I agree that fans shoudn't be mad over Cristina's reaction. It is normal for her to distance herself from pain - ie dollar shopping.. And I agree with Blizz, George all but broke Callie's vagina when his Dad died. It was his way of dealing with things.

  18. FerryBoatsForever Says:

ok..yeah its VERY sad that george is dead, however, don't STOP WATCHING greys!!! I know i am very excited to see how the new three doctors are going to play into all of this. And i cant wait to see how izzie's cancer goes. LOOK AT ALL OF THE GREAT THINGS OF GREYS, NOT THE BAD!!

  19. Blizz Says:

Jeez people, it's Grey's Anatomy! Do they EVER deal with stuff by the book? Was Meredith insensitive with "dead mommy's proud" or "bag full of mommy" and did that talk mean she didn't care about Ellis's death? Do you think Cristina didn't care about Mer when she went shopping after she almost drowned? And finally, your wonderful George was a sex addict when his father died - does that mean he didn't give a s***t?
That's why we love this show - the characters' reaction may be peculiar but I assure you, they ARE devastated. And I am sure that at the end of tonight's episode none of you will doubt that.

And just because George is dead doesn't mean that our show has to become something it's not. Life goes on with GA - if all you ever liked about the show was George than you're right - don't watch it.

  20. Kathleen Says:

sorry meant to say during bomb episode not funeral

  21. Kathleen Says:

adding one extra something: they've already explaineds the reason for his lack of screen time and lets remeber thatthe decision was as much depended on t.r's decision whether to leave or not as it was on shondra writing
don't get me wrong i'm going to miss george but you guys are all under the assumtion that everyone acts the same way about death and they actually don't
and remeber laughs can be caused by tenseness as well remember izzie laughing during the funeral or by a funny meemory that someone told about george who could be quite funny

  22. Kentia Says:

I don't have a problem with this scene. Cristina seems to be doing it to have an excuse not to go to the funeral and deal with George's death. That is true to Cristina.

I do have a problem with the people insulting us George fans.

Tonight is going to be very hard for us, so don't blame us if we're overly emotional right now.

I hate Alex but if he died and his fans got upset, I would respect that.

  23. Michelle Says:

I think everyone should be nicer to the other fanbases, because their characters could be the next one to be killed off or treated badly and you wouldn't want someone to tell you to get over it.

I can't believe how mean some people can be here.

Could you for one day put yourself in George fans' shoes?

He was forgotten for a year and a half, and his funeral episode doesn't even seem to be about him.

Now it might be, but the SP don't seem to show it so far.

IzAlex, if Izzie had died not George, would you like everyone to be over it so soon? Or would you like for everyone to miss her and remember how much they loved her?

All we are asking is for a respectful tribute to George.

    It's not asking too much.

  24. Kathleen Says:

can i say something everyone handles greif in their own way and yes for some of us as horrible as it is it's easier for us to not dwell on it all the time and we do things to distract ourselves speaking from experience it flippen painful to be thinking of your best friends death all the time and yes you going to try and have a few minutes when you don't think about it because it bloody painful especially if they young and have their whole life ahead of them and they died because if an accident. so yes you would also take afew minute to do what christina and owen were doing if you lost your best friend or you will dwell in the pain. Iy's not wrong to forget for a few minute and i promise you george would not want his friens to be sad over his death they're greiving but as someone said previously if anyones famous for keeping their emotions in it's christina and meredith.

  25. Gail Says:

I hope Cristina is just in denial, because if not, she gets out very cold.

I will watch tonight because I love George, but nothing has me convinced they will do a worthy tribute to one of the most beloved characters on TV.

This episode should be about him.

I went through deaths in real life, and it takes a long time to get over it.

Life deos go on, but not so soon.

I read they all laugh hysterically at his funeral.

That doesn't make me want to watch.

And yes, it does feel like we have been slapped in the face repeatedly.

George was erased this season. His relationships with Izzie, Mer, Bailey, Alex, Callie, Lexie were all ignored.

    He died in awful pain.

What else do you call it?

Yes it's just a TV show but people watch TV shows for the characters.

They get invested in them and attached.

I don't think anyone watches Grey for the medical cases. We watch for the characters, and we get attached.

If we didn't, we would have stopped watching a long time ago.

So we're not idiots. We know it's a TV show. It doesn't mean we can't be sad right now, especially given the horrible treatment TR the actor went through the last season.
