Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Owenstina, Slexie and Der (Not Mer)
After yesterday's revelations about Katherine Heigl's leave of absence and Izzie getting fired from Seattle Grace (at least for five episodes), Michael Ausiello of EW has more spoilers and gossip for us to marinate on today. Let's get right down to it ...
Q: Grey’s Anatomy scoop on Owen and Cristina, please!
A: They’re headed for a dry spell. In the season premiere, Amy Madigan’s shrink advises Dr. Owen Hunt against making further sexy time with Cristina until he can get the voices in his head to shut the hell up. They’re not breaking up. Just taking things slooooow.
Q: Mark-Lexie scoop please!
A: “They’ve got a lot of challenges coming down the pike,” concedes a Grey's Anatomy insider and writer for the show. “The most consistent challenge is the one that’s built into the fabric of their relationship: He’s pushing 40, she’s in her early 20s.”
Q: What will happen to Patrick Dempsey's character, Derek Shepherd, on Grey’s Anatomy when Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) heads off on maternity leave?
A: He will get some much-needed alone time. As Grey’s executive producer Krista Vernoff explains, Dempsey has been “patiently” waiting to get a story that wasn’t directly tied to the Der-Mer love story. And this season he will finally get his wish.
“Derek hasn’t been a fully explored character separate from Meredith,” Vernoff adds, noting that “the fact that by necessity Ellen Pompeo is going to need a little less screen time gives us more encouragement to explore Derek as a doctor.”
This includes what Vernoff calls an “extraordinary medical story” involving McDreamy and a patient in the sixth episode, directed by co-star Chandra Wilson.

Although it sucks that Ellen Pompeo will be gone for a few episodes, I'm glad we get to learn about Derek. His story lines really do only revolve around women, and mortality rates. I'm glad we get to explore and learn more about him! I remember thinking his middle name was Michael from like the second season and then Addison said it was Christopher. Lol, I just hope Grey's keeps its same essence. ER was a great show but when all the old cast was basically gone, it didn't even feel like ER, it felt like a spin off. I do NOT want Grey's to turn into a spin off seeming show! Even if that means, I can't believe I'm saying this, less seasons! *ducks from food being thrown*

RE:Cristina/Owen, Was I dreaming when I saw the second promo for season 6.with Cristina/Owen in the middle of what I thought was a sexual encounter??? She was dressed in only bra and panties on top of the man?????
I get that Owen needs therapy. But let's NOT DRAGG this therapy out ALL of SEASON 6!!!!!!!
The way they feel about each other it's going to be difficult for them to stay away from each other,since they work together everyday!!!
Writers PLEASE don't screw this relatonship up. You did and OUTSTANDING job for the entire season 5. Keep up the great work with these two characters!!!!!

Gloria: I bet Cristina is in denial and tries to ignore the fact that George is gone. That's how she copes with things (when Mer almost drowned she also acted really strange and went shopping). Now she's probably trying to have sex to keep the thought of George away from her. But I am 100% sure Owen won't let that happen:)

You are right on the money and I'm there with you. As hot as Owen is for Cristina, he will love all the extra attention, but will not allow her to self destruct due to her lose of a friend/co-worker.
Remebering that scene when Mer was at death's door, Cristina shopping in the dollar store was just priceless.

What's up with the ages? Addie said in S3 she was 39. So I assume that Mark, Derek, and Addie are all 40 or 41. Lexie said in S5 she was 24. Timeline is so confusing sometimes. I wish they could clear this up.
Very excited to see Derek in another light. I'll miss MerDer but glad that Derek will be getting a good SL. Also, very curious to see Cris/Owen's storyline.
Not that excited for Lexie and Mark though. I still can't like them! :S

Glad for exploring Derek. I would like to know more about the chief and Chandra Wilson, these are worth-watching.
I already miss Mer.She is the best.

I like that there will be more about Christina/Owen, Mark/Lexie and Derek, but I will definitley miss Mer.I think it's great that Ellen Pompeo is having a baby,but it's going to be wierd to not have her there for a few episodes.
