As far as owen goes, he was in the army- he saw so many of his close friends- a lot closer than he was with george die in front of his eyes and in his arms. He probably knew how upset everyone around him would be who didn't deal with this on a daily basis so he had to take charge while he could. People deal with grief in many different ways- that could also be why no one else seems upset. It probably hasnt sunk in yet. remember the stages Mer was saying in the beginning. DENIAL is going to be the hardest to overcome for the people at SG.
I thought the clip was fantastic. I don't think they could have picked a better clip to air because everyone is so sad george is gone and it's giving everyone a last glimmer of hope. I can't wait to see what the season holds for everyone on the show. I know I am going to be crying!

Weird that George deleted scene worked yesterday but now it says you need a friend request. The person who put it on might have been afraid of the scene being taken out since it's from the DVD.
Basicaally George was saying to Alex and Cristina that since he failed the exam, he has been trying so hard to catch up with everyone and working hours and hours in the lab. He said the others kind of left him behind and he doesn't know how to catch up with him, and he doesn't remember when is the last time he spent time with Izzie, Meredith and Lexie. He says he isn't comfortable. He isn't completely miserable, but he is alone. He feels alone, and he doesn't know what to do to not feel alone anym ore.
He doesn't know what to do to feel like he belongs anymore. I don't know what episode that one was suppose to be. We see Izzie looking very healthy, so it might have been the same episode where she talked about being honored to be the new him.
He just looks so sad and lost in it.
I have no idea why it was cut off. It seemed really important to tell where George's mind was and why he decided to leave and go in the army.
I really think that is George. Remember Meredith talking about the first five stages of grief? Number one was denial...

Ok, George is dead 100%. Why? Because it was him in the bed, Shonda said so in an interview with ET. Not sure if she slipped up but, well, see below Shonda's interview with ET, the last part about TR in all the makeup:
Shonda Rhimes: There are ebbs and flows. Every character this season has had a lot of ebbs and flows. And every season is shaped differently. With George, I really wanted you to not notice that he wasn't there for most of this episode. I don't think anybody noticed because of the way we laid it out this season. He's an incredibly talented actor. And, actually, he was really lovely and elegant about lying there in all that very painful makeup and prosthetics for much of the episode with no words. That moment where he grabs Meredith's hand is one of the most affecting moments of the episode, and it was without words.

Dimples, TR didn't whine or complain. He said he felt they had no use for George anympore, and his two seconds of airtime seems to show that.
He still came back to do one last scene when his contract was up and he could have told her to shove it and go to hell.
He was way more decent to her than she had any right to.
Any smart producer will hire him because he's a classy guy, a professional one who gave 300% to his role unti the very end even though the producers had clearly given up on his character and him because of a personal vendetta.
Yes everyone has down time on the show. But noone noone ever disappears completely out of it.
George was erased, his relationships were erased and no actor would stand for it no matter how much he was paid.
Not everyone thinks money is more important than integrity and loving what you do. Not everyone is a whore, thank God.
I respect him so much from walking away from millions because he knew life was short and he wanted to be happy. Not many people would have this courage.
I also respect him for not being Isiah. He told his story with class and he did it once and moved on. He didn't whine for months on end about it even though he was perfectly justified in doing it.
No other actor on this show has ever been treated this bad, and I think the other producers will know Shonda's the unprofessional one, not TR.
If they don't, their loss because TR's fans would follow him anywhere and he has quite the big fanbase.
You know what? Whatever. You need someone to blame, go ahead. Reality is that TR isn't coming back and this whole blame game isn't going to go anywhere anymore because it's done.
I'm sorry of how things went. I didn't want George dead either but we can't get always what we want.
The finale could've gone both ways. TR decided not come back, they killed him. If he had decided to stay, his recovery could've been interesting. SR had the back up plan.
Brooke was fired unexpectedly. So unexpectedly they couldn't write a proper send off. Burke could have been run over by a car now that it wouldn't matter to SGH.
I wouldn't consider PD as complaining but that is up to the person reading. I love reading his interviews because he always gives a thoughtful answer understanding the complexity of the issue. Something that I've noticed is that he certainly is more concerned about the fans that ABC or the producers are.
Once again, I have no idea what went through with TR and SR. Neither do you. You chose to believe in TR, I chose to believe in neither. SR has a point and TR has another. We'll never know the entire truth.

LOL, are you kidding? How stupid do you think Shonda is? There is no way she could have fired TR in season 4 or ever. If she had, everyone would have jumped on her for firing the victim and called her a homophobe. She couldn't do that, so she did the very best next thing. Starting in season 4, she started killing the George character bit by bit. Isolating him from the fab 5 and putting him only in scenes with lexie 9which was more about propping Lexie than him) then having him have less and less scenes and fading more and more into the background. Then even Lexie stopped hanging out with him completely so George was left all alone, with no relationship or contact with anyone at all. Lexie had more scenes with the fab 5 and more surgical time than him. Lexie became the new George. George often hanged out all alone and had scenes without even a word spoken. You don't think that's killing a character. You don't think Shonda knew TR would have enough after a while and demand to quit. That way her hands would look ultra clean and it would seem to be his decision and his decision alone.
TR quite clearly said Shonda became distant with him after IW was fired and that his character started being relegated to the backburner after this firing, so there is no way Isiah is not relevant to this. He is in a big way. Do you really believe it's a coincidence George became ostracized and less and less important right after Isiah was fired? I mean, really? Do you think it's some humongous weird coincidence? You can't really believe that no matter how totally loyal you are to Shonda.
Everyone else noticed it, even the critics.
Hmm yes it is Shonda's fault if she makes times for some actors and not for others. Who else fault is it? A producer should treat ALL its actors equally. TR is one of the most popular actors on the show. fans were begging all season for more George and she doesn't have two minutes for him. PLEASE!
She also didn't have to kill him. She didn't kill Hahn or Burke when they left, did she?
She had a perfectly good exit planned for George with the Irak thing. Even if TR never came back for visits, the George fans would be happy to know at least he was happy somewhere and finally he had some good things happen to him.
She decided to kill him and to disfigure him and to cut off his arm.
She did that so he could never come back.
I love Patrick but I agree with SM. He did come off as complaining in this. It was a complaint. The That's it is a complain. It's not the first time he does it either. I don,t blame him. Hell, I agree with him. The writing sucked. I agree when he said season 3 was boring as hell (except for Gizzie, which was the one bright spot for me).
Look at the new DVD. 4 George deleted scenes. The guy had no scenes at all and she manages to cut the few ones he had? Of course he ends up miserable in all of those scenes too, so maybe it's better not to see them. They have Lexie telling him she doesn,t want to be his friend anymore because George had the audacity not to love the little idiot.
They have a whole feature on Denny, a character who died three years ago but George gets nothing and TR gets nothing. Couldn't they have made a George best moments memorial or something? He just died, couldn't they have done this? Last time I checked, a lot more people care about George, a member of the fab 5, than a charactr who died three years ago and I'm a Denny fan, but why is a long ago dead character getting more screentime and mroe attention on the DVD than one who just died?
IW is irrelevant at this point. If Shonda wanted revenge, she could've killed George in S4. Seriously. The only people who continue making connections are resented fans (with or without reason) who need an explanation to TR's departure. I don't like IW, I think his actions were disgusting, but his status on GA is irrelevant.
PD didn't complain. In the interview he expressed HIS disapproval because how the fans were going to feel about it. He has always been very intelligent when it comes to answering this kind of stuff. Usually, he is in a way, the advocate for what fans want for his (and sometimes EP's) characters.
The fact that PD has a bigger power of persuasion or that he makes his voice count more than TR did, is not SR's fault (or PD's for that matter).
TR said one thing, SR said another. I don't believe either but I see their points. There is always something left untold and that's the important matter. There is no way that we'll know the complete truth.
That's it. Doesn't mean that SR or TR shouldn't be respected.

Ace, nobody told you not to comment. What some people are taking offense with is being told to stop whining and not post here anymore. I don't agree with you but I wouldn't presume to tell you to shut up.
The George koolaid. So wanting to have some scenes to say goodbye to a character that we have loved for five eyars is drinking some Koolaid. Unreal.
George is my favorite character but I would feel that way about any original characters if they vanished the entire last season.
But then it never happened to any other characetrs on this show before, so that's why I only complain about George.
If they had done it to Alex or Derek, I would whine too, as you call it.
And yes, I can move on to another show, which I'm planning to do, but this sneak peek was about George and I will always comment when there is an article about him.

Anuflas, TR went to her remember and she was too busy for him. She said so herself, and I'm sure you were told this too.
PD complained about the post-it wedding after the finale, so something tells me he's not that happy with his writing either.
But I guess she has more time to listen to PD then TR, the gay actor who forced her to fire her best buddy.
Plus, TR said he knew by experience the last five years Shonda always lied to him about George. She's a liar!
SM Says:

LOL then I decided to move on. Season 5 was quite crappy without George, and this is hardly the first time Shonda has disappointed me. This george thing was just the last straw.
We hardly saw George at all in the last episodes, the ones where she could have shown George. We got 5 minutes instead of 2 minutes, which is nothing at all. The last episode should have been all about George and his saying goodbye to the others. Instead, we saw him about 2 minutes because Shonda was so gung-ho about her really lame shocker, a shocker everyone who was a real George fan figured out the moment they panned on his eyes.
Shonda also said that shocker was the erason George was not seen at all throughout the season. Really since when is backburnering a beloved character an entire season long ever a good idea.
I'm trying to see where any George fan said the people with opposing views couldn't speak. I did see those people telling the George fans to shut the hell up and stop whining.
The George fans weren't dictating to anyone or telling them to stop, it was the other side who did that.
Good for you that Shonda never disappointed you.
I'm shocked at that as she has made so many mistakes but I'm happy for you.
as for giving us Grey, well i'm grateful for the three first seasons and yes I loved all the characters back then but the horror of the last two seasons makes up for that in spades.
Oh and the George fans are hardly the only fans upset at ehr which is why the two or 3 Shonda,s ultimate fans feel like defending her to every single poster who dares criticizes her.
She messed up with George. Even people who aren't huge George fans know it.
My sister who isn't a George fan at all thinks Shonda messed up big time with how she hanled the situation with TR and George.
Everyone deserves respect. Everyone. Whether we like them or not, it's up to the person but we all deserve the right to be respected. She had a mishap. Happens to all of us.
Shonda cannot please everyone. She has a story and she's telling it. The fact that outside factors take place, it's out of her control.
I'm happy that you are enjoying watching some people actually defend Shonda. I don't understand why but ok. Apparently I also have to hate her, right?
That said (and before the hate posts come), I don't personally know Shonda but I've been in her position so I know what it feels like. And she's still running the show, so why piss her off more? What will anyone win with that?
Last thing, TR made final decision in December, meaning that Stairway to Heaven was probably in production and Beat Your Heart Out was starting to be shot and the crossover episodes already written. If George was to be taking a bigger part of the show, he came in when the writers were able to.
In addition, here's a bit of a PD interview when answering what he wanted for Derek in the future. See? Even Shonda is human!
"...You have to really be patient and allow Shonda to do her process and we’re here to support that, but you also have to tell her when you want something to change. I think Shonda has grown a lot as a writer and as a show runner – but there are times when you have to go and say to her, “Here’s how I feel. I’m going to put it on your desk and you make the final decision. I may agree with you and I may not, but it’s your decision.” You have to learn not to be too passionate about things. Let it go – and wait to see what happens."
Thank you. I know remember. I had blanked out on that. It was in the episode when Owen was supposed to evaluate for the solo surgery, right?
Lana,
Can you give the episode a chance? It's only five minutes. When I have received the news of a close one passing away, I don't immediately break down. Takes time. Like it's being stated, mourning takes different shapes.
Also, once again, don't mix water and oil. Derek was nervous because he had just seen that he is not as a good surgeon as he thought he was and had a major surgery with Izzie. He was in a bad state of mind.
Ace,
While I agree 100% with you on the Shonda thing, I've already tried to put her good side on and almost get executed here. Don't get too frustrated with that. :)
Shonda hasn't dissapoint me, and I doubt GA will disappoint me on a go-forward either.
I've loved every second GA has to offer. And I'm grateful for Shonda for creating a series cause if it wasn't for her, there would be no GA.
To say that I'm her brigade of bodyguards? HA! Now that's laughable; it's just an opinion: you have yours and I have mine.
Fact is, George is dead and gone. Change has happened, either you adapt to it or you don't. Either way, GA is still happening.
And I haven't drunk any koolaid. Shonda isn't perfect, she makes mistakes. However, I'm not the one crucifying her; the boards are littered with overzealous comments on Shonda. I'm also certainly not crucifying TR for not coming back.
It is what it is. Either accept it and move on, or be stuck in the memory of yester-year and find a new show.

This is just wrong.

SM,
IW is irrelevant at this point.

The length of the answers is funny.

Oh, and if anyone can give the hate a break for like 5 minutes, here are the Bloopers of S5.

PD is hilarious.

Fanny,
Everyone deserves respect.

Denny,

Fanny,
Shonda hasn't dissapoint me, and I doubt GA will disappoint me on a go-forward either.
