When Grey's Anatomy returns for its new season, will a matter of weeks or even months have passed since we last saw Izzie and George clinging to life?
That's been the rumor, although TV Guide debunks it in its spoiler Q&A today. Here's what the magazine has to say about the Grey's Anatomy timeline ...
Q: Is there anything to report about the new season of Grey's Anatomy?
A: I know there's been talk that Season Six might pick up a few months after the nail-biting May finale, but sources are now saying that's not the case.
In fact, the September 24 opener will find both Izzie and disfigured George still coding, and as we all know, T.R. Knight will not be returning to the cast.
Over the two-hour season premiere, watch for the outcome of this traumatic scenario to weigh heavily on a lot of people - including at least one doctor whose reaction you may have taken for granted. Now who do you think that might be?
It looks like Izzie survives on Grey's Anatomy, and we'll get to see it.

I'm so excited about what's going to happen. I'm still sad that George decided to leave, but i'm kinda over it now. He was unhappy for a long time so maybe theater will do good for him.

i cant wait for next season! i honestly only started watching like the last 5 episodes and i was hooked. now i've bought seasons 1,2,and 3 ad watched them all. I'm sad george is gone but then again for me he started getting on my nerves

Or i think the reaction we may be taking for granted is Callie's since she was married to George for a period of time. I also wanted to say I'm excited for the new season & they finally started filming today :]

i think the doctor who's reaction we take for granted is Meredeth....she was with him the whole time....that's my guess...if not her then ill say Alex..

Meredith -- maybe she'll leave for a short while due to that... A convenient way to disguise Pompeo's pregnancy.

Well, since the premiere is "supposedly" carrying off where it left off, we can rule out Izzie, Christina, Dr. Bailey, Chief, and Alex as one of the characters whose reaction is taken for granted since they all were with Izzie at the time. However there was Owen, Meredith, Derek, and (Callie I think?) who were all with George. Of course the reaction could take place after but, I don't know. Just a guess. My thought is that it's Meredith whose action is taken for granted, she portrayed a minimal reaction when she found out and I think it's going to come around and hit her right in the gut, not literally though. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

i think that it will be meredith who's reaction is taken for granted. she was his doctor the whole time and she never realized it was him even though they lived together for like a year

Primo, the didn't live together for a year.. They lived together for like.. 2-3 years.
Secundo, I definetly think it's going to be Izzie's reaction. Izzie was really attached to him and they even slept together times.. They were best friend.. they WERE best friends.. Until season 5 there's like a little relation blank between them and the fact that he died I think that's just going to be the last thing she's gonna even think could have happenned.
