Chandra Wilson to Direct Grey's Anatomy Episode
She always steals the show. Now she'll be directing it as well!
Chandra Wilson, a perennial Emmy nominee as Dr. Miranda Bailey, will be directing an episode of Grey's Anatomy this season, sources confirm. No word yet on when this will take place, what the episode will be about and if she'll also appear on it, but that's great news!
There are also rumors, E! reports, that another actor was (or is) negotiating to direct an episode of Grey's Anatomy this season, as well as make a couple of other tweaks to his/her contract to allow him/her more creative and personal freedom in the upcoming year.
Who could that be?

katherine heigl is being sucha prude. she feels like she deserves more. being a fa fav has gotten onto her head. i mean,look at sandra oh! she's a fan fav too and we dont hear stuff abt her threatening to quit or commenting on the writing. she should concentrate on her acting more, coz thats what she's paid for!

When I saw this article elsewhere there was a picture of KH with Chandra. KH is still filming other romcoms (how original). I am wondering how quickly Izzie can go back to being a Dr. So less screen time in the hospital for Izzie, so maybe KH will will be able to carry on with her films whilst GA carries on. Maybe part of the deal to get KH back was to let her do other things along side GA. But I've just read Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey are doing an ensemble film together. But directing episodes is a well worn path for many actors in a long running tv series.

I agree that it is PD. I just don't think that KH is interested in directing at this time. She is still young and very bankable as a leading actress in movies. If she wanted to direct I would imagine that it would be when she got older and her movie career was dying down. PD has said that he appreciates his job because it allows him to do other things such as racing. Plus he has had some problems with the way Derek has been written in the past. So I definitely think that it is him.

I think it may be PD. It seems that its the actors who are most involved in shows that tend to become directors and producers, and after barely letting her stay, I don't think that Shonda would necessarily reward KH with more privileges. And, I doubt it would be Ellen b/c she's gonna be very busy with her baby :) It could be James.... you never know :)

Note that it also mention: creative & personal freedom. I think that this may mean more power on their character.
Personally, I hope it is PD. He seems the most adequate to do it (if it was for me, I'd let him write the show. Maybe MerDer would be having the third kid by now).
Unfortunately this screams KH. She really needs to take over this show, doesn't she? :(
