Caroline - I realize a lot of people hate her. My point is that no one knows her, or any of them. People on this board have a disturbing inability to distinguish real life from tv fantasy and a bizarre gullibility for the media empire that depends on the slanderous gossip of pop culture icons, regardless of whether it is true. Do you know her at all? Have you met her? Have you met TRK? Do you know anything about any of these people and their lives? I've heard that most of them laugh at the rumours. I'm not justifying anyone. I'm realistic to know that I don't have a clue what was going on there, and I don't know any of these people or anything about them.
TR isn't helped? He's doing Broadway. I realize most think he'll never amount to what he would have on GA, but that depends on what your definition of success is. If success is happiness and fulfillment, it might not mean fame and fortune. Besides, the guy probably made more than enough $$$ by this point to compensate for income foregone.

I'm not Caroline, but I did meet TR.
He's such a sweetie pie. He signed me an autograph.
I never met Shonda.
I did read her interviews and I must say she does come off looking a bit arrogant at times and out of touch with the fans.
In her podcasts, she comes off as incredibly shallow. She keeps going on about how hot the actors are.
I find it interesting she calls Alex hot all the time and have other characters mention it. Derek is McDreamy. Mark is McSteamy, and george? She had him called an ordinary-looking guy.
And George always ended up being dumped for the hot bad boys.
The other guys looked down at him like he wasn't worthy of Callie and Izzie and they were too beautiful for him.
She constantly belittled George on the show,as if a guy wasn't worth anything if he didn't have a model's body and didn't measure 6 feet tall.
That,s what she seems to be saying.
That hot guys should get the girls just because they look hot and that they automatically are going to be better in bed.
George had two women cry in bed with him.
For her, love is just about looks and sex. George and Izzie had a real connection, true love and great chemistry, and she ridiculed the thought of model Izzie ever being able to be in love with him, and then immediately put her with the supposedly hotter-looking Alex, even though Izzie didn't have the same connection with him.
I don't know. Someone who's that shallow and who thinks nice cute guys don't deserve love and are inferior to the hot bad boys can't be that good a person, can she?
She seems pretty twisted and shallow to me just by the way she treated George and the way she treated Brooke, replacing her with a prettier model.
I think actions speak louder than words sometimes and her actions in both cases say a lot about her.
Then there is also the fact she cried when she had to fire Isiah and she defended him. She didn't think him using the f word with TR was anything to be mad about. I'm pretty sure she didn't cry when TR left.

Sorry, McCynic, but you are completely deluded if you believe that garbage you said about others passing judgment on Shonda because of this photograph. It's called having an OPINION. If you don't like it, don't read our comments. The whole "if you don't have anything nice to say..." argument is completely played out and simply untrue. Just because you don't agree with some comments that were made does not at all make your sweeping generalizations ("cowardly and pathetic") true. In all honesty I have absolutely NO problem saying what I think in a situation where I am not speaking anonymously as you have ignorantly claimed. If you wanted to know what I thought of that picture in real life I'd say the same thing: Shonda looks creepy. Just because you don't like what some people have to say does not warrant you getting your back up and acting all high and mighty. The only thing that's "pathetic" is your seeming inability to stomach the fact that people have opinions that differ from yours.

Shonda and TR actually used to be very close. He was the only one who showed up at her birthday party in season 2, and there are plenty of photos of them beaming at each other.
There's no clash of personality here. IW is her best friend, and she blamed TR for him leaving.
Like many people, she let her friendship for IW blind her to much of his faults, homophobia, anger issues and arrogance, and TR, who is the sweetest guy in the world, got unfailry blamed for her by it.
I find it weird that Shonda who's obviously not good-looking herself is so shallow.
She judges George inferior because he's not conventionally good-looking. Is that how she judges herself too? Inferior because she doesn't look good? Or is it ok for women not to be hot, but guys absolutely have to be to have some value?
Now everytime I look at her, all I see is the ordeal she put my sweet TR through, and I can,t even look at her!

I don't even care about her weight. There are a lot of overweight people in this country, so it doesn't surprise me that the writer/producer of a TV show is overweight. What does surprise me is her treatment of the most REAL character on the show. The character that most of us, including her it seems, could identify with. Most GA fans wanted to see more of George last season...so his exiting storyline seems kinda harsh compared to IW/Burke's. Excuse me? How does this statement make ANY sense whatsoever? By your reasoning, it doesn't matter what someone's opinion is, it is automatically "cowardly and pathetic"….unless the comment is something positive about Shonda. The reason I say this is because if I HADN'T said Shonda looked creepy, neither of you two would use that stupid "cowardly and pathetic" label. First of all, both you and McCynic are using online handles: you're not revealing who you truly are. This is the most obvious flaw in your argument. DON'T tell other people they are cowardly and pathetic just because they voice an opinion that you disagree with, especially if you‘re “hiding‘ behind a monitor too. Because that's ALL that's going on here. It does NOT matter what a person's opinion is, they have the right to say whatever they want. But the paradoxical belief that you are allowed to say whatever you want, while criticizing the comments that others make and putting labels on what they say is hypocrisy pure and simple. Again, just because you disagree with mine and other people's assertion that Shonda looks creepy, DOES NOT AT ALL mean that this assertion is "cowardly and pathetic". It is quite clear that some people here don't really reason through anything or think about what they are really trying to say before they make a comment. If we were all having this conversation in person, I wouldn’t say anything different, so again, stop deluding yourselves by thinking that people who voice an opinion that differs from yours is wrong. I have not tried to belittle other people's comments or pass judgment on others (besides stating that I think anybody who can't stomach another's opinion is deluded), but I cannot say the same for the people who are seemingly in love with Shonda and can't handle it when somebody says something about her that ISN'T sycophantic.
“I am simply trying to say that maybe next time you can be nice in your opinions and think of other's feelings before you act.”
The ultimate in hypocrisy! You yourself have not thought about your comments before you posted them, because you are trying to belittle my opinion, while at the same time saying “oh well it’s ok to have an opinion..” but adding onto it that I should “think about others feelings before I act”? I made a comment, I didn’t talk to her directly. “Opinions” are not something people need to be “nice” about. It doesn’t sound to me like you have any experience dealing with anybody who has an independent thought. You’re in for a rude awakening if you think you can hypocritically tell somebody their opinion is “cowardly and pathetic” just for stating what they think online. Besides the obvious fact that you yourself are not using your real name, it is downright laughable to say that someone’s opinion is cowardly and pathetic just because you disagree with it. Grow up.

First, let me just say, I have very little to add to my original post. I find that so many people find it perfectly acceptable and laudable to disparage another human being’s appearance in a public forum disheartening. You’re correct – it is your opinion. I think my opinion on the ways you choose to express your own is based on values that are just so fundamentally different that it’s not worth even trying to meet minds.
Second, the one point I will clarify, is that I don’t have a problem with people remaining anonymous on the internet. In fact, I think that by and large it is wise. My point that you were hiding behind anonymity was directed at the fact that you would mock someone in a public forum in a way (I assumed; quite possibly incorrectly) that you would not to their face. Perhaps you would tell Shonda you think she is creepy and fat to her face. IN contrast, if I was with you in person, and you called her fat and creepy, I expect that I would articulate such behaviour as cowardly and pathetic. That being said, I might be willing to concede that claiming someone looks creepy in a snapshot is probably not the end of the world. What really bothers me is the fat comment. I have known people who are anorexic. I know of people who have died from anorexia. And the struggles they face. As far as I’m concerned, the only relevant fact about weight is whether it’s at a healthy level or not. People can carry extra weight and be perfectly healthy, people can be underweight and be quite unhealthy. But instead, people choose to criticize other people for no good reason about their appearance, as though any of us are perfect, and as though any of us wouldn’t care if someone pointed out our flaws. And I do not buy the argument that all people who get into the show business lose their entitlement to privacy. Some thrive on that – let them choose pose for pics and give interviews. Others wish to keep their privacy – they should be allowed to choose to not pose and give interviews. Anyway, I digress...
I, for one, am with Chelsea. I certainly don’t feel like getting into this argument, and think it’s ridiculous that someone told her to ‘shut up’ because she defended the dignity of another human being (even just out of principle) and wanted to get out of the argument that was clearly not going to go anywhere (and did so with well wishes to everyone at the end). I do feel strongly about standards on how we talk about people. I tend to believe that if we spend more time talking positively about people and less time shit-talking one another, the world might be a better place. As for, me, I am daily immersed in the evils of the world in my area of study. It tends to dominate a lot of my social space, too. I usually escape one or two hours a week in the lives of fake people. I’m impatient, so I like spoilers. In the off-season, I have continued to come around out of habit during reading breaks. But fundamentally, I don’t care about the personal lives of these people. I don’t need to see pictures of them. In fact, I wish there were better laws guarding their privacy. But at any rate, that I am even engaged at this point in such a conversation on a tv show internet board tells me that I’ve tipped the scales of balance away from my priorities. It’s not about appeasing impatience to know what’s going to happen anymore. So you can carry on with the expression of your opinions, and I will not interrupt again. And hopefully I will take this time to learn the virtue of patience, and enjoy the show each Thursday when it returns.

And you don't have to be a hypocrite either if you can accept that other people disagreeing with you does not warrant them being called "cowardly and pathetic". Think about it.

I know very well that this is all a disagreement, and I'm very tired of arguing. I feel as though you have insulted my intelligence in your last comment and I don't appreciate it.
I'm very sorry if I insulted you in any way. Have a lovely day :D

wow chelsea-- shut up your argument is neither intelligent nor interesting.. and you are a wimp if you truly believed in your argument you would have continued your point and made a much better point.. you just keep saying the same things over and over.. and i think that no matter whose side i am on or anyone for that matter i have some respect for zephyr in continuing their side of the argument bc they made a good argument and didnt give up.. I think shonda is brilliant and she's got a great mind and i love her writing and story lines no matter who ends up with who (although i have been a strong fan of merder from the beginning) although i do think that she looks creepy in this picture although not in every picture she makes me laugh when i listen to her podcasts and i think she's pretty great bc without her i'd be without grey's so i love shonda but i must say she is a tad scary in this picture..

Whoa. Dude she apologized for insulting that person...
Leave her alone. If she's tired of arguing then she's tired of arguing. This argument seems like it can go on forever. I for one am sick of hearing both sides.
She apologized, just leave it alone.

I almost died laughing from that comment about The Joker! I inverted the colors in that unfortunate picture of Shonda and the results were interesting to say the least...
