If Izzie lives that will be unfortunate. That character has become completely annoying. Additionally, that story line is very predictable. I really hope, if Izzie is in the first couple of episodes, that Shonda and crew have the balls to kill her off and build Karev's charater around surviving the death of his spouse. Less Izzie time and more Alex time please. All of us are not die hard Izzie fans.

I have to agree with all of you. I am sad to see that Shonda and producers have chosen to keep Izzie. Quite frankly, I was hoping both characters died. I'd love to see how the rest of the staff deals with the lost of friends and colleagues. It would have made for excellent TV.
If this will not happen, I hope Izzie grows. The character is sickening and naive. It's hard to believe that people are really like Izzie. Allow her to grow up and be a good wife to Alex. He deserves it after dealing with mentally ill women (including his wife!)

What else to write about on a MEDICAL show? I don't know, how about his recovery, his fight to become a doctor again, to get back to his newly discovered skills as a trauma surgeon, forming a team with Owen, becoming friends with Alex, teaching his own bunch of interns.
They could also bring a girl outside the hospitakl, maybe the girl he saved, and have him form a stable relationship with ehr, a happy and sane one.
Wow, what a stretch.
As for Izzie, I am a big Gizzie fan, I will always be heartbroken Shonda broke them up but I am not a Izzie fan without him. She is awful with Alex and I think her stay has been more than overdone.
I do think that Izzie is done. What's left for her aside from the cancer storyline? Not much. She never was impulsed to be an excellent surgeon (like Mer, Alex and Cristina...or George since he was finally showing his true medical side).
We could argue about Izzie dealing with her disease and her marriage but Grey's is a medical drama after all, medicine is a big part of the story and Izzie hasn't seem very into it since the Denny's heart story (Ep. 7 Rise Up).
George was infatuated with Mer, married in an impulse with Callie and failed his intern test. That's it for him. He was finally showing his true surgeon inside once he joined Owen in the ER and this could be a great journey for him. I just don't see Izzie following the same path. That is if she ever recovers.
Also, Izzie is going to need a hell more of chemo and radiation so the chances of pregnancy are barely to none. IF anyone should have a baby is either Cristina (but this time keeping the baby) or a McBaby. This could be something excellent for both MerDer dealing with becoming parents, balancing the work life and in a way dealing also with their troubled childhood (sure, Derek had more of a "stable" childhood but his dad died when he was so young and he's been angry since then).
@Freddy, I like Alex. He's my second fav resident but give the guy a chance to mourn the Rebecca/Ava issue. I think that he did fell in love with her and couldn't see himself leaving her after the false pregnancy and that made me feel so sorry for him. So he was being an ass, that is true, but it was explained.
Izzie is not the heart and soul of Grey's Anatomy. I don't think that even Mer is. What keeps this guys going on day after day is what makes the heart and soul of this show. To my belief at least.
And don't worry. I get those impulses of watching several episodes in a row. :)

Knight choice and i am a huge Izzie and Alex fan and i like Izzie the way she is and she is a good person and i would rather have her live and have a happy life with Alex then George I like George to But it is a medical show and people do surive from cancer and she will probley live and their is no chance that she is going to die at all. She will probley be back helping people and she has a great story to and this will give her a chance to grow and be a good wife to Alex So if you guys don't like her then why watch the show then She is a great person and I think that mer and Derek are very annoying as a couple and mer is very annoying she wants to be top dog and she thinks she is better then every body so i don't like them i also think that chritina she a goody to shoes as well she has to be better then every one their i also think Baily is really good she tells people how she feels and the truth so i am tired of everyone bashing Izzie Give her a break and it is a medical show amazing things happen on the show so if you have nothing good to say about her then don't say anything at all

I am glad that she is coming back. I love her and Alex, they look really good together! But on the other hand I loved George too!! I am just glad they didn't kill off both characters!!

Also, so I think what's going to happen next season is that Izzie will see George and decline his offer to step off the elevator, and then go down it again and wake up. George, however, won't go into the dream elevator and will therefore die. So sad ...

I love all the characters on Grey's (ok not all but the majority), and i dont think that Izzie should die and neither should George. But if TRKnight wants to leave, then he should be allowed to with his fans support. Even if we are annoyed that he has left, we should still be supportive. I hope that Izzie survives and kicks cancer's butt! And i also hope that we do see George again but maybe it could be in like flash backs or in somebodies after live (other than Izzie's) when they are about to go into the light and then dont!

and SD, i actually don't have an opinion on shonda at all... id on't know the girl...i believe that she is doing the best that she can for her show...and she's doing a damn good job at it...if you aren't a fan of her then why are you watching HER writing? george is obviosuly now dead so stop watching it if it bothers you so much. noone can say anything about t.r. or shonda unless we were there and we know...we just all have our opinions. she can't please EVERYONE. george had his big story line in season three...mer had her big storylines seaons 1 and two. izzie had hers season five...thats what i dont get, izzie didn't have all that much screentime in season three...she had season 2 finale when denny died, and season three she didn't really have a storyline until with george at the end of the season, and in season four she had NO important storyline so she's really not hogging all the room here guys.

Since I have watched the season finale, I believe that the elevator door will close, izzie will survive and george is going to die. as soon as the door closes izzie wake up, but it will be too late for george.

This is a pefect way of letting your tears out. It just gets better and better but then again words cant even explained how good the eposodes are.
This is an excellent series. Please do not stop. You guys keep us entertained at all time in South Africa, Johannesburg. I litterlly cried when George and Izzie met in the after life. We cant wait for the next season to begin to find out what happens next..... Brilliant acting...Love XXX

I'm just happy that Izzie isn't dying. The finale hasn't aired in Australia yet, but I have a basic idea of what happens. I just hope that George gets better and then leaves for the army. Then he can always come back :). I just know that I'm going to cry at the finale.
