Very sad that George is leaving- he was a great part of the show. Give him a TON of money to come back for three episodes so we can say goodbye!

That can't have been his last episode. I wanted real goodbye. I wanted the others to finally tell him how much he meant to them and apologize for ignoring him all season.

George could have had a big recovery story. TR would have finally gotten a story like he wanted.

I will not believe anything until I've seen/heard the news from Shonda and TR themselves. That said.. Letting go of casts is really bad for the show and for the fans. Grey's is already losing so many fans as it is. Although I've never been a fan of george or izzie, they were the original line-up and they've all grown on us for the past years. Its really hard to accept the news of them leaving, no matter the situation.
On the other hand, maybe they'll decide to bring Isaiah Washington back as Burke. That would seriously make me want to watch the show again. Burke is my favourite character. If there's not going to be Burke or George then I don't know whats going to be the attraction to this show anymore.

Can i just say seriously? You people are all upset at the writers and directors like it was their choice to take him off the show, when in fact TR has wanted off this whole season. There's nothing you can really do when someone does want off. I did like George, and i do like TR, but im going to suck it up and get over it and continue to watch Grey's because i do feel like Owen and Arizona are a refreshing new add, and they will liven up the show because it kind od died around season 4...and i feel like it's finally getting better.
Aaaaand Isiah Washington is a rude person who in fact called TR some seriously horrible names, i believe he shouldn't even be mentioned as ever returning, and the fact that some of you want him back is just ridiculous.

I kept watching because George did have one scene or two per episode, and they always made the whole episode so much better for me.
I continued watching just to see his face for a minute or two.
And for the record, I know tons of George fans who didn't watch at all last season when they realized George wasn't going to get a story. Did you not see the ratings lasts eason? They were way down.
I can see them going a lot more down now that George is officially gone. I know I'm quitting, my cousin is quitting, two of my colleagues are quitting.
Having read all the sites, it seems many people are quitting over this.
TR didn,t want to quit all season. He only started wanting to quit because Shonda gave him no story at all. Haven't you been reading all the reports? That's what they all say.

That's what they say but no one really knows what happens except TR and SHONDA. NO matter what anyone says, or what anyone thinks, we don't know what went down, and we probably never will.
Like i understand being upset because your favorite character is leaving, or because you don't like the storyline, but i genuinely like the show for ALL the characters, not just a specific one. I didn't want George to die, or Izzie to die, or even Denny to die. But it is a t.v. show, a good t.v. show that i enjoy watching and will continue to watch, i think it's a stupid reason to quit watching a show, but everyones entitled to their own opinion, so kudos to you.
I hopw the show does well, because i like it. Nuff said.

I don't think Grey is a good show. It used to be but it turned into a mediocre soap opera a long time ago, and Shonda keeps mistreating her talented actors so much, they are desperate to leave.
George was the best thing about this show, and the one likable character.
I'm gone, and I hope Shonda gets some taste of her medicine.

TR wanted to leave because Shonda hasn't written for George all season. It might have been his will, but she did everything in her pwer so he would feel that way. When katie was unhappy, she bend over backwards for her. She couldn't even give TR one lousy story.
I guess because he doesn't fit Shonda's shallow fantasies about hot guys. You have all heard her go on like a stupid little girl in her podcasts, salivating about how hot Alex is and the likes.
George was a character just a bit too deep and complex for her high school writing.
This show is clearly aimed for the 12 to 14 year old with the hot bad boys having hot sex with the hot cheerleaders.
George was the one real character in the whole show.

They keep removing basic characters and it keeps fall down, just like when Addison left.
