I hope she survives... You know how in the spoilers Mer seemed to be saying 'don't do the surgery', I think that's because she saw what Ava did to Alex... and she knows that memory loss will be so tough for him. However, I think he loves her enough to pull through. I hope so much she survives.

Looks like no one dies i saw the promo and it seems people are right about the losing memory thing and Meredith at the end of the last promo says "Do you know who Alex Kreve (can't spell) is ?"
I don't think she will die because Grey's isn't Grey's without her. I think they should just put her in an after surgery coma for like an entire season until all of Heigl's movies are over with and then they'll bring her back. Meanwhile everyone can keep up their hopes, Kerev can have his "happily married" life by her bedside, and they can focus more on the other characters for a while like George, christina, the "shepherds" (love that they'll be married), little grey and McSteamy, and of course the Calizona couple instead of the story and focus aways being on cancerous Izzy and death-defying Denny D.
Ugh, Can't wait until season premier, and hate the thought of the long wait until then. I also don't like that college finals week is clashing with season finale week!!!!

I am a Gizzie fan but I realized this season I like Izzie only with George, and I am a much bigger George fan than Izzie fan.
I'd rather she die than see her with Alex, and I sure would rather she leave than George did.

I think Izzie will pull through and live i really don't see her dieing cause she does not look that sick in the promo preivew and she can not leave Alex either she married him and that would just break his heart cause he sead a sweet vow to here and she needs to stay alive and live so they can have a happy married life. Plus i don't think that Grey's would be the same if they took her off and they are all part of a group she has been through a lot I am a huge Izzie and Alex fan i like george to i know it is hard on him to cause he is seeing his best friend like this i feel bad for George to. But i think it would really heart the show if they took off on of the main chareiters. I can wait for the 2 hour episode cause they are sort of dragging on this cancer with her like they did with Denny i know cancer can be a long prossces but they drag it on and on Just tell us if she lives or not cause its does get kind of boring just seeing her in the hospital bed. They want people to watch it then they drag it on and on I love the show but i just feel that they drag some of the problem on to much and that is why some people stop watching it. But i am a huge Grey's fan and i love Izzie and Alex they are the perfect match for each other and he needs to be happy for once But Shonda Izzie must Live

I think that Izzie is going to live, but she might lose her memory. There are rumours of George going off to war, which will see his departure from the show...
I'm not putting to much thought into whether she lives or dies in this season, because i think her future will be a cliffhanger. I think we will find out whether she lives or dies next season.

It's George I am worried about. He's the one who has the most chances of dying, and George is my favorite character.

I love Izzie. She is my favorite character and has been from the beginning. I love Alex and Izzie together. They have always been my favorite couple. If the kill Izzie off I'm going to be so upset. It going to kill Alex so they can't do it.

I don't care anymore, even with cancer she doesn't make me sympathize with her, this season Izzie has been a very annoying character.

I think she will lose her memory due to surgery. It will parallel the first episode of the season, where she cared for the woman who lost her memory. First episode was written by Shonda. I think the other two woman in first episode parallel Meredith and Christina? It will also parallel Alex's story with Ava.

I hope she lives. I'm not the biggest fan of her, but the show isn't really the show if one's missing of the fab 5. You know, she's been there from the beginning when we got to know everyone and without her, I don't know, it just won't be the same anymore.

I honestly don't really care if she lives or dies (for Alex's sake, I hope she does) but I think that the cliffhanger is going to be either her or George. My bet is on George getting into the car accident, sorta of like Derek in the season premiere.
As for Izzie, I think that Grey's is pulling a Mark Greene on her and have her recover from the cancer, at least partially (I mean, she did have only 5% chance to live) and in the last episodes of the series, she is going to die or at least see her in her death bed, kinda like Mark in ER, back in season 8. That'd make logic and it'd be at least slightly realistic.

I think Izzy is done. If the writers are smart, they will allow her to live (minus her memory), ship her off to the Mayo Clinic to recover indefinitely, and have George transfer to attend to her out of loyalty. This would give both of them an option to return should they want to later. It may also make their respective fans a little less bitter.
But…are the writers smart? Nope. They are going to kill off someone, making it a permanent decision (unless someone else develops brain cancer and hallucinates them back).
Dead Denny writer submitted the following: Izzy is left brain dead after the surgery. George will kill himself in some fashion that will allow McDreamy to perform the first brain transplant. Derek will fail and overdose on heroin due to the guilt of being a murderer ~OR~ Derek will succeed and Alex is now married to George in Izzy’s body.
I have to agree that we probably won’t know for certain until September.

Remember in the finale of season 4, the Sheperd method finally worked out for Beth? Maybe it will be the same for Izzie in the finale of season 5. Hopefully.
