Izzy was on the elevator. George was standing outside the elevator. Izzy can go up a floor- continue on with life. That was the metaphor. We will see izzy again- not George. He was left outside.
I hate to be the downer but I wasn't that much excited by it. The 100th really blew it for me. That said...
Izzie/Alex - I love Alex. I really love Alex. I'm kinda loving him more. He really cares for Izzie. Take that Alex haters! That moment before Iz goes into surgery was heartbreaking. I'm honestly over her cancer situation so I'm not really stressed out to see if she lives or dies. Whatever it is, I hope that Alex makes it out.
George - The minute he opened his eyes and saw Mer, you could totally see that it was him. Even if we already knew it. I laughed and became so melancholic about old George when he told Bailey he joined the Army. I really wished that we would've gotten a deeper explation to his decision. I hope that we eventually do. (and that he makes it).
MerDer - Look, I'm not big on weddings either. I actually had a final project of a class to plan a wedding and it stressed me out so bad that I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't do a big crazy (Izzie extravaganza) wedding, so I understand Mer. But was it so hard for them to go to City Hall? She wanted to. So why couldn't they? I love that they wrote their vows in a post it and that they are "spiritually" married, although I feel that they sorta were in ELL. I just hope that nothing bad happens were legal papers have to come handy.
And on a final note, way to go Bailey. Her marriage was in a bad state already. Good to see that she took the final step. I am liking Arizona really really a lot! She's funny. I hope that she is good for Callie. Also, love that Mark finally grew up. He's moving on whether Lexie can take it or not. I like that.
That's it :) Kinda contradictory my opinion but that's how I felt the episode was for me.

I was up until midnight because I just couldn't get down from the high of the episode. This by far passes season 2 finale which was my favorite until last night. I have to say i knew is was George when they cut his watch off. It was that big wristband that gave it away but it was only for a split second. GOD THAT WAS AMAZING

I thought it was ridiculous. The Grey's writers need a head check - actors have a right to say what they want and shouldn't be "written off" for offending them. Frankly the season was pretty lame this year anyway; suddenly Callie has feelings for women and is over George, Christina is getting emotional? I liked pairing up Izzie & Alex, but not for her to die. Building a character base is what keeps a show going. Seinfeld, Friends, these shows didn't run for years by writing people off. Without Izzie, George, or both the show isn't the same Grey's. First episode of season 6 will tell me whether I continue to watch the show or let it fall off the radar as the crap it's become.
