Even if T.R. Knight wants to leave, I'm hoping they can decide that George survives but his arm is to injured to work as a surgeon. Killing him off seems too cruel, especially after everything else the character has been through.

I'm worried though that it will be George convincing Izzy she needs to fight for life, before he goes off to heaven or whatever. If one has to die I'd rather it were Izzy -- she's had her moments but her character is a little too nuts for me. I'd feel bad for Alex though -- another guy who's been through too much already.

  2. J. Says:

I find it contradictory that Shonda says she lays out the season at the beginning for everyone, and then later says that no one knows the season plan but her. It makes me wonder if she's lying.

My bet is that Shonda reads the press, or someone reports it to her, more than she lets on. Granted, she's busy, but all it would take is a trip to a site like this weekly.

  3. T Says:

There were some good moments and some that just seemed to be time fillers. I never heard Owen ask Christina a question so I didn't get the "all you have to do is say yes." They never talked about him not going to Iraq they just showed up at his mother's house and that was that. The problems that Arizona and Callie keep having is too much. I wish they would bring back the Callie that had "swagger" when she first came. Now she doesn't seem like a resident...but an intern. She was never one to jump in and out of bed with people...like Alex used to but once she broke up with George then on to Erika. I thought that story line was supposed to be about finding love and it just happened to be with a woman. But the way they moved her from the infatuation with the Sadie then on to Arizona. It doesn't seem like a natural progression for someone who had never dated women. They don't seem to know much about each other but they keep having arguments over family, money, etc. Break them up and let them both move on. It's amazing how we don't see Tuck anymore but yet this pivotal issue for Bailey concerns him. It's not that he has to show up at the hospital all the time but it's a little unexpected even though they had problems. What happened to the chief's wife? They got back together last season finale and that was it. Alex freaking out and being mean to Izzie is just unbelievable when he was so concerned over crazy Rebecca that he pretty much spoon fed her. The 007 moment was the most riveting part of the finale. It was indeed unexpected but very good writing. So he heard everything they had to say about him joining the army. Now the main reason I'm addicted to the show...Derek and Meredith. I've watched all episodes and I love this couple. For the first four season finales it was break-up, make-up, break-up, make-up...I knew they couldn't have another break-up. But this lackluster follow up of post-it vows was an injustice to the most romantic couple on television. The elevator proposal wasn't a favorite but it made sense given their relationship and elevator history. While they may not be romantic in the traditional sense they are very much romantic. I always thought they would get married in an intimate setting with just the two of them but I figured it would be "at the clearing near the trailer" where the candles were last season w/a priest or judge. So Meredith isn't a girly girl and didn't want a traditional wedding...that makes sense. But neither one of them said they didn't want a marriage. Derek isn't anti-marriage sense his divorce and it was Meredith's idea to go to the courthouse. So why after all of this for four years would they settle on a post it note - stuck to her locker. Not even at her house or his trailer but a locker. They could have done better and given us a memorable moment like from season finale 2 or 4. I pictured the two of them in scrubs on his property and spending their honeymoon locked away in the trailer.

  4. ana Says:

I got to say Shonda is a genius, that was the best two hour of entertainment I had this year so far. It was the best the post it wedding never imagine it, rock when I find my McDreamy I gonna get married just like that. I loved it.

  5. Debbie Says:

Agree with most everyone - shock & breathlessness, love & the pain of loss; Shonda roused all our private emotions. I guess we'll have to wait until Autumn before experiencing the 5 stages of grief... I think I've shed more tears with this show than any other - well done team!

  6. McLoveGA Says:

"the post-it wedding will have big reverberations"
What the hell does that mean?!?!?!?!
Shonda - please don't mess them up again. My heart can't take this!

  7. Liliana Says:

Yeesh Shonda seems like kind of a witch here. Is she always like this? I don't blame the actors (if rumors are true) for not wanting to work with her.

On to the finale...I hadn't read any spoilers or hints for this episode--I didn't even watch the preview. When George started writing 007 on Meredith's hand I just about lost it. TR Knight was the only reason I actually started watching the show before I got hooked. I quite frankly almost cried when he turned out to be John Doe. Izzie, on the other hand, I felt had been going downhill for a while. I expected her to be dead a few episodes back, actually.

  8. Maria Says:

As many other people have expressed, at first, I too was a little disappointed with the carrying on of the Izzie and Denny scenes. However, as has happened many times with this show, it was quite intriguing where they went with it in the end. Shonda has a good point when she says that she was surprised that people looked at Denny as a ghost being that it's a medical show. I guess that's the expectations sometimes considering some of the other unworthy-of-my-time shows out there these days. I mean SERIOUSLY, like most people, 'spare' time is a rare commodity. But I continue to make the time for Grey's. I once heard/read that many if not all of the conditions, surgery's, accidents, etc. on Grey's are actual cases. True or not, they certainly make for thought-provoking ponderings. I thought the point made in the Season Finale was fantastic and nice to be reminded of even if through a series of dramatic events (but a good way to get the point across): tell those you love that you love them. Now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Everyday is a blessing. For the Grey's team: keep up the great writing and I look forward to next season!!

  9. Vera Says:

    Shonda's kind of a bitch, isn't she?

  10. Becky Says:

I am a Grey's freak and a couple of my guy friends here at work are as well and it is the topic of conversation on Friday.

When the person came in that had been hit by the bus, I knew it had to be one of the characters but could not figure out who. I first thought it might be Lex but she popped up after George came in. Now that we know it was George and we are all wondering if his charter will be "killed off". I am thinking that if he was no longer going to be with the show then why would the girl who he saved be hanging around for the full episode? If he was going to be faded out , then why would she even show up at the hospital?

  11. MrsKeen Says:

I don't know about everyone else but i thought the finale was great. I was a lil pissed that it was a cliffhanger but hey what can you do. No matter if they bring Izzie and George back or not Ill still watch the show just because I loved it more for everyone and not just two of the characters. I have been told numerous times that im the "izzie" and she is my favorite character but irregardless i will stick by the show.

  12. Belgian Grey Says:

Madame sounds so auto-satisfied me, myself and I. I don't read the press well Madame you should and you should read the forums not the one from ABC who is only there to promote you but read the comments of this great site you might learn something.
I am sure that it is her same blabla of last year. She is so self-sufficient that it makes me wonder if she's got any respect for the fans. Said this before many times and now I am convinced she has none.

  13. Kay Says:

This was an unbelievable season finale. I have been such a huge fan that i can usually predict which way they are taking the characters in the end and with this episode i was clueless. I can't say i'm thrilled about george and izzy's fate on the show but the finale was done very tastefully. It will be a shame if they both leave i think that the show will suffer without them. I'll be a fan no matter what, but it will be a huge dissapointment.

  14. Sue Says:

What a devistating ending. Both gone at the same time. I was even more shocked when they said that fellow that got hit by the bus was TJ.(he did look awesome in uniform tho) The show will never be the same with the two of them gone. :(

  15. Nwabisa Says:

It feels like they might not kill George off, but a face lift by Sloan is possible, thus killing off T.R but keeping George. If Shonda does that...that would be sad. very, very sad.

The season was great though, never cried this much over a TV show. Shonda and her crew are pure genuises. But PLEASE don't kill George- he's sweet and adorable

  16. Nova Says:

"We all thought it was really surprising that anybody thought there was a ghost on our show. We're a medical show. We thought it was surprising that anybody would look at it and go, "Gee, that's a ghost." "

Because when Meredith drowned and hung out with her dead dog and Denny in the "afterlife" that was medical.

  17. Lisa Says:

What an artfully written episode. When Mer discovered John Doe was George it was as if I had been punched in the stomach. It literally took my breath away. I have never felt such emotion for a TV show.....ever. Excellent job to all involved. I will always be a Grey's Fan.

  18. someone Says:

    to Becky:

I think the girl showed up like any other relative/person involved with a patient. They needed to build up a story around the trauma. Also, it fitted well with all this saving lives and joining the army thing--> showed George as a hero.

  19. hmatsui55 Says:

For some reason the last espisode seemed too predictable to me? Once the patient with the leg injury began talking about the army infront of George I immdiately assumed he'd be going off to the army. And sometime between the Chief talking about George visiting his mother and the woman he saved talking about him, I figured out it was George who was hit by the bus. Very upsetting.

  20. Susan Says:

What a disturbing comparison it is to say that the unrealistic Callie-Arizona gay relationship forced on the viewers is anything like Meredith & Derek. Does Ms. Rhimes really think it's admirable to jump on the "ooh, we're so politically correct" bandwagon? For someone who 'doesn't pay attention to the media', she sure seems to base such poor choices on the same skewed information the media perpetuates. For example, although the homosexuals in this country make up around 4 percent of the population, Grey's and other shows tend to reflect a percentage closer to 20 percent. After all, there are only about 5 couples with central storylines...so of course one of them has to be gay. Give me a break! BTW, I have several dear, wonderful friends who are gay. Even they acknowledge how unrealistic it is to present the lovely lady doctors as a couple. We have watched the show from the very first episode, but since this topic was introduced, our family has tuned in "in spite of it." I have friends who won't watch at all any more, even though they stuck with it through the episodes with a ridiculous amount of casual sex. It's frustrating that there is so much plausible content...yet occasional tangents that detract from the writers' credibility. When the average viewer sees a mix of realism and fantasy, he or she tends to process it all the same. If only the television industry would use its massive influence to improve the morals and ethics of our society rather than to revel in their deterioration.

  21. lovegreys Says:

Faith people, faith! Of course all of us are not going to like everything Shonda does with the show, nor should we, we'd be like one person. I think the real trouble with television these days is there is too much in the media. Give me the good ole days when you talked to your family, friends, or neighbors about a good show, but not the whole dang world! We all have a right to our opinions, but if they are negative towards the creators, writer, actors, etc. keep them to yourself. Nobody needs that kind of talk and I hope Shonda really doesn't pay attention to the press, except for the positive. It's such a fickle industry anyway, enjoy it while it lasts.

  22. lovegreys Says:

Naysayers, shut up! You are not really a fan if you continually degrade the show. If you really don't want to watch, then don't watch. And if an actor wants to leave a show, who are we to be mad at them. They have lives, they are real people with real reasons. Like Bailey with her big decision--we don't know what really motivates someone to leave their job and we shouldn't listen to the gossip.

  23. greys is great Says:

What was that last part all about. How she wished they found a love interest for Callie that sparkled, sooner?
Is that aimed towards Erica Hahn? Thats the one thing she would mention when there was the ghost sex?

  24. greys is great Says:

Isn't it interesting who was working on John Doe? Callie, Meredith, Lexie and Owen; all people who have played an important part in George's life. (and not so much in Izzie's)

  25. D Says:

Last night's episode was GREAT! I had to rewind the last ten minutes on my DVR at least 3 times before I could turn the TV off and I still haven't deleted it yet.

I am disappointed that Meredith and Derek did not officially marry. Why? Because Shonda and crew hyped up this fast track engagement and wedding and so I really wanted it to happen. After getting over the initial "post-it" note wedding, I realized that this committment, the one without an actual paper, is more of Derek and Meredith's style. I don't believe they would actually rush into marriage the way the writers crafted at all. So, while I still hope they make it official next season, I do love that Meredith is healing and it's affecting her life in so many positive ways.

I would like Izze to die. I'm sure I'm in the minority but I think Alex's character has not been as developed as everyone else. We've met almost everyone's parents, not Alex's. We can tell you everyone's history almost backwards and forwards...not Alex. I think Izze's death could be a platform to really explore Alex. I want to see him grow and if anyone on the show should be complaining about little development, it's him not T.R. Knight.

Speaking of the devil, Dude...when George wrote 007 on Meredith's hand it freaked me out! I really enjoy T.R.'s character and I think he should live so Owen could obsess about fixing this mess. It can be another wedge between Owen and Christina for next season and we know plenty of those are coming. I'm sure Owen feels very responsible, or at least he will once we know George's status. EVERYONE was pissed with him at O'Malley signing up. And George would have been at the hospital in surgery if Owen and the other army guy didn't fill his head with ideas...at least that's the way Callie will see it if he dies. I'd love the writers to save George to further develop Owen.

    I can't wait for September....
