I agree with everyone else. TR Knight is the reason I fell in love with George. He has this lovability and special quality that makes him unique and irreplaceable.
They need to save George. If TR wants to leave, they just need to say they sent George to recover in another hospital.
That way it can leave the door open if TR wants to come back.
They cannot kill George. George deserves some happiness after all he went through. That,s what nice amazing guys deserve. Not to have their faces mashed up and die in horrible pain.
I have forgiven Shonda a lot, including destroying the Gizzie couple and friendship I loved so much, but this is too much.
I won't watch if George dies and I certainly won't watch another George.

They, as good writers, couldn't pick another actor. T.R. is George, not only physically but in spirit. No other actor could capture the spirit of George and do it right, messed up face and army boy or not. I think a good portion of watchers would rather deal with George being gone than being, a different George.

I don't want George to die. I couldn't take that. george is my favorite and he has been dealt such a rotten hand. If TR wants to leave, I'd rather george go recover somewhere else leaving the door open for guest visits and for him to return if he changes his mind.
There is no other George but TR. TR is unique and special and nobody could ever replace him, and killing George would be like killing the heart of the show.
Nabou Says:

George can't die, but another actor can't play george either. GRRRR! Why didn't she just let him go to the army and be a hero?
I hate that.
TR is the only one who can play George. She's nuts if she replaces him.
But why do we have to pick between a new George or dead George?
Why can't she just let him leave alive so he can come back when he wants to.
This is so unfair.
As a Gizzie fan and a George fan, I constantly feel like Shonda doesn't care about us and keeps grinding our hearts into million little pieces.
If George dies, she'll have officially killed any love I have for Grey.
I don't understand why any character has to die? If an actor wants to leave (or if tptb want them to leave) just write them out in a different way. George could still go back to the army or go recuperate at at a different hospital or maybe recover and go back into the army. Izzie could stop working at SGH, go search for alternative treatments, etc.
As a George and an Izzie fan, I don't want either of them to leave, but if one or more of them die, it is going to affect the WHOLE show. So even people who hate the characters are going to be unhappy. At least on person in every couple will be in mourning. Mer/Der - grieving. Cris/Owen - grieving. Callie - grieving. Lexie - grieving. Bailey - grieving. Alex - I don't even want to think about it.
So anyone who is a fan of the ensemble or of a particular couple is going to have to watch a least a few depressing episodes of their favorite characters miserable. Who wants to watch that???
Alex is my favorite character. I didn't like George and Izzie together romantically, but not because I wanted her with Alex (I wanted Alex with Addison back then). Anyway, I have complained all season long about the lack of George on this board and many others. I hated the finale, and I hated how George was ignored all season and then literally threw him in front of a bus. Just because someone likes Alex doesn't mean that they don't like George.
George is a SWEET character and I loved his friendship with izzie (THEIR ROMANCE SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I don't want him or Izzie killed off just show him recuperating for all I care I do not want him DEAD or played by another actor. And if he does live I want the friendship he had with Izzie(Him being mad at Izzie in Elevator love letter, walking her down the aisle at A/I wedding, and talking to her about knowing what to do with the surgery, there should be more not just glimspes)

Alex and Izzie SUCK. They have no chemistry and Alex is an abusive jerk. Smother her with a pillow?
Believe me, I know tons of people who hate them. They are far from universally loved.
Second, even the Alex and Izzie fans I know love George and his friendship with Izzie and have complained all season about the lack of him.
It,s been all over the Net. Even Aussiello and all the journalists said there was not enough George.

They're soulmates.
I hate AI with a passion. I do like Alex, but not with Izzie. I love him with Addison.
I also love Justin. I just don't like AI.
You act like the AI fans hate George. Most of those I know love George. They might not have wanted him or anyone but Alex with Izzie, it doesn't mean they don't care about George and want him to live.
Like TDS, she's an AI fan but she loves George and his frienship with Izzie.
I want George to live, but I want him played by TR.
Why can't Shonda make this happen?
TR is amazing brilliant, and so maany of us love George.
We have missed him all season.
I'm nowhere ready to say goodbye to him after not seeing him all season.
I am so sry to offend the Gizzie fans, but yeah I am one of those Alex Izzie romance fans who also loves the George Izzie friendship but there are so many other factors that get me into Grey's (I'm not going to be gone if he dies, but I will be upset and Grey's will not be the same without him OR Izzie for that matter) I'm with u guys though about George's lack of screen time and him being underappreciated by shonda rhimes so let's hope for the best
Just to defend Alex for a second, he never said that he wanted to smother Izzie with a pillow or give her an overdose of morphine. In fact, he said (with his usual sarcasm) that he wasn't real psyched to do either of those things or leave her. He was just expressing his frustration with the situation. Izzie made him promise that she wouldn't live on a ventilator. She didn't, but she wasn't herself either, so he was doing what he thought that he had to do to get her memory back so that she was herself again, both for her and for himself. He was sort of stuck in a limbo and since they got married at the spur of the moment without thinking all these things through, he is now legally and morally responsible for her for the rest of her life no matter what her mental state is. Yes, he could have been a LOT nicer about what he said, but I understand where he was coming from and in the end, so did Izzie.
If anyone thinks that Alex would actually kill Izzie, or even want to kill Izzie, then they haven't been watching closely. I understand why people wouldn't like Alex or why they wouldn't like A/I together, but his love for her is pretty obvious.

I also agree that if either of these characters are killed off, the show won't be fun to watch any more -- not only will 2 of the best, most fun characters be gone, but the rest of the characters will be in mourning -- and if they're not, then that would be BS too. I fell in love with Greys because it's a cross between ER and Scrubs -- a little drama, a little random funny -- and Shonda is slowly and surely killing off the fun in the name of "real life".
We get enough pain in real life, Shonda, thank you. Show us some people learning lessons and moving on with happier lives, like Mere. Don't go killing people off and ripping our hearts out unnecessarily!
My mind is reeling with the possibilities of what will happen next season, but I wouldn't go by ANYTHING you hear in the news about KH and TRK. I fully believe it was all planted to add to the suspense of the season finale, same as Shonda said about George not appearing much this season -- it was deliberate, so we'd all fall for the John Doe/007 finale. As far as getting Izzie's permission to fertilize the eggs, I can tell you from personal experience that there is NO WAY that Alex would have been approached about this by anyone if she hand't given her consent.
