I think Izzie loves Alex, its just that Denny was such a traumatic experience for her, that she relives it. I dont think that it has much to do with who she loves more, she was engaged to him, and never even got a real goodbye.
And i love Denny, i really do, and i understand why they have him coming back, but the whole sex with a dead guy was getting a little creepy.

I believe that the Denny-Izzie story was one of the best parts in Grey's ever. These two characters and actors are great together. I almost forget they are not real and is always pleasure to see them. I wish there was a way for them to be happy together even if this means that Izzie has to die or..? Denny never Died... After all it'a tv. everything can be possible..

Izzie sees Denny because she's recovering and feels Denny isn't really dead.
The Denny - Izzie story was one of the best parts in Grey's ever.
I have my own idea for the storyline : Denny didn’t really die. When they got him to morgue, his heart started beating again. He’s been away at a rehab center, he’s been recovering before he came to get Izzie.
Denny is actually alive. He has millions of dollars and he was testing Izzie to see what she would do with the money he left her. He wanted to know in his heart that she’s a decent person and really did love him.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Denny again, if that's what will happen (I didn't read the article here b/c I'm spoiler free now, but I wanted to comment here on behalf of the Denny storyline). I enjoyed Denny coming back this season. And for all of you who think he is a ghost? Think about it some more. I'm not saying he is alive like Izzie. But think about that edge b/t life and death and forces pulling. I don't think Shonda & Co. intended on writing a ghost-sex story. That's not the point. This is much more "spiritual" than that, for lack of better word. I loved Denny and Izzie love (yes, I love George and Izzie love more, but I also loved Dizzie) and I think that Denny's death was hugely significant to Izzie. The moment she cut that LVAD wire was her darkest moment. And Denny? He was a light for Izzie. A new realization of how she could be loved. How deeply she could be loved and by a great man.
Aside from Izzie hovering on the cusp b/t life and death.... Denny's reappearance is an affirmation that the belief that love is everlasting still exists in this murky world (yes, I know it's just a story on a TV show-- that's why I pointed out that the "belief" that love is everylasting still exists)-- Love everlasting... beyond any physical changes, beyond happenings, beyond death...

Seriously.... why can't they make Denny a twin? Make Denny have an identical twin brother that comes to town looking for his long lost brother.
I think Denny should come back for that last time, couse the way him and Izzie parted just wasn't ok so there should be an appropriate conclusion for them.

i totally agree with you Anja. They were violently separated twice in the past. The writers should give them the opportunity to have the closure they deserve. There was a carmic relationship between these two, so something strong will come out of their last conversation. i hope they will give us the old, great and loveable denny back to remember..

I think that the JDM storyline had a really good resolution and it was good that it was him that came back (truth is that there isn't anyone to do it to haunt Izzie) but it got dragged a little too long and some of it was beyond stupid (ghost sex anyone?). I believe that if the Denny thing had started around the same time that the SK arc was on, I'd had enjoyed it and not many people would've found it stupid.
The only thing that I agree with lenia's post is that they need closure. They need their goodbyes and move on already.
PS. Um...why are the posts in italic? Did I click on something that I shouldn't?
Never mind about the italics...I already figured it out :P

I enjoyed the storyline and loved the fact that Shonda Rhimes brought Denny back in for awhile. JDM is a fabulous actor and does almost make you forget that Denny isn't real. I also agree with the one who posted that the Denny and Izzie couple was the only couple I really enjoyed on the show. Shouldn't have killed Denny off to begin with and I think deep down Shonda Rhimes now realizes that.,

Hate Denny. Hated him and the stupid twinkle in his eye from the very beginning.
I was so relieved when his whole I'm-such-a-brave-patient character was killed off and am disgusted that he's back. Izzy started her craziness and whining just around then and she's been a nutjob ever since. It took stage 4 cancer to get her to calm down. The only redeeming part of the Izzy/Denny storyline was when Alex scooped her up in the end when she was collapsed on the chair after Denny's death.
Karev is the silent hero in this story and Izzy is damn lucky to have him!
